I thought it was a shame as well that they put so much into the production of this tour and then to only do 30 some shows? They were really kicking it and to have Neil pull the plug had to really hurt. They probably hoped that he would change his mind as the tour got underway. Maybe they didn't take Neil at his word. Do we really think that Neil, who hates touring, would change his mind about touring while going through the grind? Sounds real freaking naive. They knew it before the tour started. yeah because he never changed his mind before. never. not in 2007, not in 2010. NEVER.

Were you drunk or high? :laughing guy: I was neither when I came to fully appreciate that song. I saw them play it live and there's an energy to it that doesn't exist on the studio recording. I was as shocked as anyone how much I enjoyed live because I didn't really care for it before that. true of many rush songs, and the reason for my comment above!

Huge pet peeve here too. It's not just a male thing either, I worked at a place once where it was huge problem but the only complaints were from the women's washroom! I couldn't believe it either but most of the women there would stand on the toilet seat and squat apparently.. I guess that's normal in some countries. Read about the "seated - v - squat" position the other day and apparently squatting is the better position for us humans as it it straightens the back passage enabling a stress-free evacuation. The above captions ( whether they be in jest or what i don't know ) could refer to the various designs of "crappers" around the world. Came across a square porcelain type situated at ground level ( a first for me ) in a shack in some fairly remote village in Italy The seated position is considered more dignified however... Why didn't it matter with The Who? Their music wasn't cut and dry...squared off...and perfect...it had a sloppy quality to it that made them The Who! If you go see them now, they're more like a tribute act than anything else...some of the old recordings of things I've heard were so off the charts unruly, that you got into them more than the bands that played "like the record". I couldn't bear to see them now. I'd rather remember them as they once were and when I saw them in 1974. Zak Starkey is their drummer now and he really does Uncle Keith proud behind the kit. Keith was Zak's Godfather and a very close friend to Ringo. zak starkey is incredibly good, we saw him with them on the quadrophenia tour a few years ago.

AS a drummer of 35 years I agree with the above statement. I know a professional drummer. He's a very good friend of mine. He never liked Moony Toon. He always says that Keith overplays his parts and that he is actually quite sloppy. this is exactly what makes him great in my opinion, the way he played shouldn't have worked but it did. it was like walking drunk on a wire and it was glorious. RC, I agree. What a waste of talent. my wife (a lifelong who fan) says that the keith moon bio by tony fletcher is one of the saddest books she's ever read.
