  1. from the other thread... I honestly think BU2B is my favorite track. What a killer album though. The Garden is BEAUTIFUL!
  2. I'm only on the title track but I can already feel the powerful energy coming from Geddy, wow. Great effort.
  3. I agree with the OP 100%. So many people just use Rush to hang onto their youth and its really quite embarassing.

    Neil's Drums

Sonically, the DW kits absolutely DESTROY anything else he's ever had, and they look the best too. His old kits were completely dead sounding. I know a lot of you like that sound, but it just does not match his new playing style at all.
  5. Neil playing is less complex now, true, but honestly nailing the feel and the really unique clock Neil has going on in his modern playing is absolutely ridiculous to accomplish. And honestly it's something that almost no one notices. You absolutely have to be a drummer to even realize that something is just a little bit different when you listen to it. And that is what makes Neil so much better than he ever was.
  6. One thing I love about Neil and his playing (especially since his studies with Gruber), is that he doesn't look like a completely stereotypical drummer when he's playing. I just can't take any of these covers seriously when they look like they're playing for Blink 182 lol. (Nothing wrong with Blink 182, its just not Rush).

    May 29th

I work in the Electronics Department at Target. We have a truck Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with all the stuff from our distribution center. Thennnn, every weekday our special electronics merchandise comes in around noon via Fedex, and is brought out to us in a locked rolling cage. We pull the merchandise and put it out on the shelf, a lot of times we'll get stuff before release date (music and video games), and it will be marked with the proper date on the box. We take those out of the cage and hand to our back room people to put it in the lockup boxes. So while I can't open it or do anything at all with it, I believe I'll be holding Clockwork Angels in my hand on June 5th
  8. Time for a new setlist Intro video with the guys sitting in a sitcom style tv show watching a tv show called clockwork angels, focuses in on the show and gets serious. Set one All of CA (with videos thrown in between to help guide the story more) Intermission 2nd set intro video with the guys in the same sitcom style intro, complaining about how lame clockwork angels tv show was, and how they are so sick of life in the suburbs (really cheesy video) Subdivisions Test For Echo Armor and Sword Cold Fire The Enemy Within The Weapon Witch Hunt Freeze Drum Solo Acoustic intro to Xanadu (full) Tom Sawyer In the Mood Limelight Encore The Analog Kid MalNar The Spirit Of Radio
  9. Honestly, playing "We Hold On" in the encore would be an awesome sign that they are no where near being done, I'd love to see that. That being said, anything off snakes and arrows would be fine with me, I'd love to hear Armor and Sword again, and Faithless.
  10. Is headlong flight EPIC? (adjective) YES Is headlong flight AN epic? (noun) NO that being said i looooove it haha
  11. Taurus pedals in the chorus?
  12. Listened about 20 times. WOW I'm not going to address the haters because they dont' even deserve this band lol. I am just blown away, Neil is hitting like they're recording Fly By Night again. I think he's FINALLY getting the definition he's been striving so hard to get in the studio, kudos to Nick and Neil for their VERY apparent efforts to getting the absolutely best drum sound we've ever heard from Neil. Alex once again finds the absolute perfect tone for the job, and finally gets back into the forefront. I have a feeling he is going to rock the f*ck out on this one live, and that solo, is he 58 or 18? Geddy by far takes the cake though. The bass playing is absolutely monstrous. Heavy and melodic at the same time, as he is so famous for. Some of those bass lines in the "some days were dark" section are really reminiscent of "The Analog Kid" I think. Walking with some unconventional notes tossed in just cause he can. The singing is where he really stepped it up. The best he's sounded in (dare I say) 20 years? I think those are his best vocals since Presto. Idk how he's going to pull it off every night of the tour, but he sure laid it down for us all in the studio! Truly stoked to see what he brought out for the rest of the album! Speaking of the "some days were dark" section, does that just sound like f*ckin rush or what? I cannot wait for this album!
  13. FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Neil hasn't honestly played with this much intensity in DECADES. You can actually hear him playing as hard as he does live, which probably hasn't happened in a while (in the studio). Also, how credible does the article about rush the cover of rolling stone seem now lol. I dont wanna go to work. f**k.
  14. I honestly hope they play the whole album straight. It rocks hard, and we know the boys will love playing it.
  15. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Apr 15 2012, 04:50 PM) QUOTE (Nate1647 @ Apr 15 2012, 02:35 PM) Considering I think the first set will be all of CA, my guess is Caravan. If they play all of CA in the second set, I'm guessing the first set opener will be Subdivisions. You read my mind! haha it's pretty much the only thing that makes sense.

  17. K new setlist after hearing about the venue switching (to indoor shows) Intro Video to CA Caravan BU2B Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies Halo Effect Seven Cities of Gold The Wreckers Headlong Flight BU2B2 Wish Them Well The Garden Intermission Sitcom style spinoff about life in the suburbs (with the boys acting) Subdivisions Cut to the Chase Ceiling Unlimited Middletown Dreams YYZ Drum Solo (from YYZ) Broons Bane The Trees The Enemy Within The Weapon Witch Hunt Freeze (!!!!!!! ) Freewill Xanadu (full) Vital Signs Encore: Tom Sawyer Prive Mover (just to toss in something completely random) The Spirit of Radio
  18. I'm guessing they are NOT playing with a symphony. My guess is that they are starting the first set with all of clockwork angels, (or at least the suite), so they need it to be completely dark, hence the switch to solely indoor venues.

I agree, and my only qualms with this was too many albums left out, and I only had 10 songs in the first set. Here we go again! Also I think they said there are 5 songs in the suite, not 6. There is a good chance we'll only hear the suite, although they might play some in the first set. I was able to add in Freeze as well. Now that I look at it, that first set would be incredible.

  21. QUOTE (Echoes @ Apr 4 2012, 08:12 PM) Rhyming "sky" with "why, oh why" Kinda what I thought lol. Figured I would post anyways.
  22. Buddy of mine said he found these on a very in depth google search. The Capital City, where the Watchmaker casts light onto the sky I gaze upon the luminescent clouds, and ask myself why, oh why The beings around me don't show concern For them, life goes on I stoke the fires of the big steel wheels And I wonder what went wrong No idea the validity in these, nor do I know where they really come from and thanks 1-0-0
