  3. QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Aug 1 2006, 06:37 AM) QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 1 2006, 06:20 AM) QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Jan 9 2006, 10:30 PM) Am i the only dork thats totaly into this show?? One of the old "Goonies" are on this show that just showed up on tonights episode http://www.river-phoenix.org/friends/martha-plimpton/plimpton.jpg Never heard of the show. But it's good? I should check it out? What channel... sci-fi? BTW, that looks like a photo of Martha Plimpton. I never saw "The Goonies," but I know her from "Parenthood" (she was Dianne Wiest's daughter, and the girlfriend of Keanu Reeves) and "Running on Empty" (where she was the girlfriend of River Phoenix). Yeppers, that be her I duno what channel its on,I forget, i duno even if its still on anylonger I hope its just off for the summer & will be back for the fall, but i havent even seen any trailers for the new season I hope it comes back, soo many questions to be answered on it I am very sorry to tell you I check and its not coming back. NBC replaced it with Heroes. It aired on NBC so there is a slim chance the Sc/Fi channel might bring it back once Stargate finishes its season?? Sorry.
  4. To beat the heat yesterday my girlfriend and I saw POTC2 She didn't like like it at all and she loves the first one said this one was too dark and boring. I thought it was OK it took awhile to get going but knowing they already filmed 3 I half expected this going in. The effect were done well Depp makes up for some the wtf that could never happen parts with a look and a slight wink. I loved the first one and I will see the 3rd but this one I give it a 3 out 5.
  5. QUOTE (kazzman @ Aug 2 2006, 09:34 PM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 2 2006, 07:22 PM) I'd just guess that Burton hadn't read any Batman comics before making the first films. Burton actually publicly admitted he never read a comic book in his life. Oh and for the record, as much as I hate the Shumacher films, I'll actually take Forever over Returns. Yes but it still doesn't make up for Batman And Robin!! Every Role Jack plays he plays as Jack I have to admit I was pleased with Batman just making it to the big screen at the time of the release. Then Return came out and I was like OH No !! Forever might have been a better movie had Keaton stayed with it and they had a younger Robin. The only thing about B&R was my seven year old liked it besides that they totally killed everything that was cool about Batman. Begins is by far the best Superhero movie to date as far as sticking to atleast Basic elements of the comic I really hope they try and get some of the Detective part of the Character into the story this time around.
  6. From SCI/FI Wire .com QUOTE Warner Brothers announced that its upcoming sequel to 2005's hit Batman Begins will be called The Dark Knight and will feature Heath Ledger as the Joker. Christopher Nolan is set to direct from a script by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer, who both wrote the screenplay for the previous film. Christian Bale, who played Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins, will again play the Caped Crusader. Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan will produce. "I'm excited to continue the story we started with Batman Begins," Christopher Nolan said in a statement. "Our challenge in casting the Joker was to find an actor who is not just extraordinarily talented, but fearless. Watching Heath Ledger's interpretation of this iconic character taking on Christian Bale's Batman is going to be incredible." Production is set to begin on The Dark Knight in early 2007. The Dark Knight appears to be an allusion to Frank Miller's groundbreaking 1986 graphic novel Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, which redefined the character with a darkly psychological take and paved the way for subsequent comic and film interpretations of him, including Tim Burton's gothic Batman film in 1989. I am very excited for this one they did such a good job with the first one I have very high expectation for this one. The only thing I am worried about is Heath Ledger playing the Joker. And NO ONE ELSE FINDS OUT WHO BATMAN IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Jul 26 2006, 06:40 AM) All this talk about "Battle of the Planets" has reminded me of another animated space series I was into for a year... Star Blazers. The episodes were 30 minutes (just like any other show), but the stories were on-going, like a soap opera. You really had to catch each episode after school, or you could get lost. Good show. http://www.starblazers.com/images/gallery_images/7.jpg The central character was Derek, the rookie pilot in the lower left corner. Other characters I recall: Mark, Sandor, Nova, Starsha, Dr. Sane, and the captain, who'd perish of old age during the mission. I Love This Show!!!!!!!!!! I think he died of Space sickness?? I loved the Space Jets http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v627/batman2112/starblazer_tiger1009l.gif I skipped 7th Period math for a semster just so I could get home in time to see it.
  8. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Jul 25 2006, 08:44 PM) Two shows I vaguely remember as a kid are 'Sky' and 'Children Of The Stones'. I remember thinking they were the strangest and most compelling things on TV. I also loved the 'Battle Of The Planets' cartoons. They revamped Battle of the Planets/G-Force they call it Gatachaman. Its all right a few things were changed their look was updated a bit also the the Character that talked in code now speaks fine. I would love to get the US oringal on DVD.
  9. Rare Nightwish songs on "Tarja Turunen" Myspace page. LINK!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know how rare or real they are But I thought I post they are supposed to be up for only a few days?????
  10. I love that show. I am going to have to pick up season1 soon.
  11. From Sci-fi.com NBC and producer Mark Wolper are mounting a live-action version of Rankin/Bass' 1974 stop-motion holiday TV special The Year Without a Santa Claus, Variety reported. Ron Underwood (City Slickers) is directing the two-hour film, which will star John Goodman as Santa. Also cast are Ethan Suplee (NBC's My Name Is Earl), Chris Kattan, Eddie Griffin and Carol Kane. Larry Wilson and Tom Martin wrote the script. The movie will tell the story of a disgruntled St. Nick who decides to take the year off from delivering presents and ultimately rediscovers the meaning of the holiday through the help of a young boy. NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.LINK This must end I see no reason to do this. You know people are out of Ideas when they stsrt redoing Santa!!
  12. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Jul 5 2006, 04:30 PM) 'Millenium' with Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd. Complete and utter weapons-grade crap! Too True the Book was done much much better. I think the person who wrote the screenplay didn't read more then the back cover of the book.
  13. The Pick up Artist with Molly Ringwall Spawn
  14. QUOTE 3. The whole kid thing: This is a natural extension of events in Superman II. I know as a kid, I always wondered about what happenned at the Fortress of Solitude between Lois & Clark. He used that ridiculous "amnesia kiss" to wipe away Lois' memory. What about if she got pregnant? Well, guess what? She did! Now Supes realizes what he did was very wrong. He tampered with her mind & now he's paying the consequences. It wasn't the kiss that wiped her memory its was hypnosis I believe he uses it in the comics to help keep his Secret. I maybe wrong on this one I am not as versed in Superman Myth as I am with Batman.
  15. Singer has done a very good job with this one. The first two are a tough act to follow but he pulled it off very well. With all the remakes out there now Singer has brought a Franchise back with an original story but still staying true to the original two movies. This movie should be seen on the BIG screen!!!!!!! (atleast once) Superman Returns gets a 3.5 out 5 this may go up after I see it again tonight. *The Brando scenes are a little overhyped for what they really end up being. Not alot of "Clark" or Superman dialogue for a two plus hour movie.*
  16. I found a trailer for it I really hope they don't screw this one up.Transformers.com
  17. I saw the Preview before Superman yesterday Looks great. Can't wait for it to come out.
  18. I saw Superman Returns Yesterday. I give it 3.5 out of 5. A very good restart to the franchise a bit long but without a doubt better then 3 and 4. Kevin Spacey does a great job as Lex. Brendon Routh also does a nice job with Superman. I would say this is a must see movie even if your not a Superhero movie fan.
  19. I saw X3 last night. It wasn't the worst movie I have seen but it didn't live up to the two previous movies the plot was paper thin and rather boring. I hope in there is a X4 they bring back Singer.
  20. Hey check this out Jon has started a group for the movie on Myspace. Ironman Movie group
  21. Out of the three I have to go with Ford. Star Wars,Indie where the Tie breaker for me.
  22. It did make me feel alittle better about going to see it. It might not be as bad as I first thought.
  23. That was Great!! thanks for the link
  24. TNG First season was brutal to get through. The overly dramatic music score and they really had too many main characters to be introduced. They improved so much that by the end of the series it was better then most major motion Pictures.
