  1. Great catch! I believe there is a ticket scam in the works for my show in Cleveland. Someone on stubhub is selling 2 tickets to Suite 126. That suite is my company's and they have not released any tickets to employees yet. Employees are not allowed to sell the tickets anyway. I told our ticket corrdinator about it and she is pretty much ignoring it as a scam. None of her business I guess. a link to it.. http://www.stubhub.com/rush-tickets/rush-c...et_id=274660466
  2. QUOTE (Snyder80 @ Dec 24 2010, 08:44 PM) I think this sounds like total bullshit. Anyone who believes a word of what David Lee Roth says is just as big of an idiot as he is. Secondly, I don't care what period in history it was, if Lifeson was there I'm pretty sure EVH wouldn't want to f**k around too much because I'm pretty sure he'd get the shit kicked out of him. Thirdly EVH isn't fit to share the same dressing room as Alex Lifeson so who gives a shit. The guy is an egomaniac from hell and is one of the most overrated guitar players that ever lived. Wanna listen to a shredder from that time period, pop Blizzard of Ozz into your cd player and listen to the magic of Mr. Randy Rhoads. Randy Rhoads was indeed one great guitarist, but you can't say EVH was over rated. Are you kidding me?
  3. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Dec 24 2010, 07:26 PM) What year was this? Sounds like nonsense. I don't think Rush ever toured with Van Halen. I did a search and see that Rush did play a show with VH in June of 1980. http://www.songkick.com/concerts/7162361-r...e-montfort-hall Rush was clearly the headliner though. Also found that Roth did write a book, "Crazy from the Heat" Not that I will be buying that one. I was just hoping someone on the forum had heard this story in the past and could offer some insight to it.
  4. First off, my disclaimer - if this has been discussed in the past I apologize in advance. Seems when something has been discussed years prior on this forum someone always has to call me on it and act like everyone and their brother already knows about it and there is no need to post yet again. (Really I'm tired of that shit!) I was chatting with a FB friend today who is a big VH fan. He said there was a story in David Lee Roth's book (don't know what book) about Eddie and Geddy getting into a scuff after a show. He said that both bands were playing some gig and they decided to flip to see who would go on first (effectively choosing the opening act). Rush lost and went on first. The story goes that after Rush played Geddy refused to allow VH's roadies on stage for setup until all the Rush equipment was off the stage which delayed VH coming on stage. The story continued that after the show Eddie saw Geddy in a bar and sucker punched him for the delay. Supposedly even breaking his nose. Now I have never heard this story and I think it's all BS. First off, I don't see anyone in Rush acting like that after a show. Secondly, I don't see Geddy even being in a bar after a show. Has anyone ever heard this story? Any validation to it? APRIL 15TH BABY!!
  5. QUOTE (rooted-rush-fan @ Dec 14 2010, 07:14 AM) Post if your going to the Cleveland show April 15, 2011. I created an event app thru facebook to notify all who are going on the pre-show rendezvous location.. Also trying to get a Hotel to discount a block of room's for the show.. Anyone in the Cleveland area know of a decent place to stay near the arena?? lemme know.. April 15th can't get here soon enough !!! Use the link below to add yourself to the guest list Time Machine Tour 2011 - Cleveland, Ohio Guest list http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=61611 (Check out the Hot Tub thread)
  6. QUOTE (01GT Eibach @ Nov 30 2010, 10:42 AM) With no repeat stops for Pittsburgh slotted, it appears that Rush is going to Cleveland. That is just two hours away, and the show is in April so snow should not be a factor. I think I am due for my first road trip to Cleveland. Their "Q Arena" looks very nice. It's a typical 'coliseum' or arena type venue. I went to Pitt last September as well. Liked the new venue, but didn't like the stair lights shining down from the rafters. Thought they were a bit too bright. We will have to have a pre-show meetup! I'm suggesting Harry Buffalo's. They have a second floor we could invade! Go Steelers!
  7. Yep, you buy tickets for the Q via their website. This changed about 6 months ago. I posted an article in another thread about ticketbastard and they referenced the Q and how they moved away from using them. Here is a link to the Q event for Rush; http://www.theqarena.com/events/rush_110415/ Here is that article I mentioned; http://m.wired.com/magazine/2010/11/mf_tic...gle+Feedfetcher
  8. QUOTE (metaldad @ Dec 7 2010, 12:39 PM) Music Today sucks, don't waste your time Agreed! I will try again on Saturday.
  9. Never mind all the negative Cleveland BS you jack weeds are saying!... I can't believe they are not filming this in Cuyahoga Falls!! (Pretty much an inside joke) Seriously, WTF? Give Cleveland people a break. It's not our fault Rush isn't in the hall. It's not our fault our weather sucks, our football, baseball, and now basketball teams suck. It's not our fault we only have minor league hockey (which is still fun to go to at $11.50 per ticket!). One thing we can take credit for and nobody on this forum can dispute it... Cleveland helped in making Rush successful. It is well known fact that Cleveland was one of the first cities that gave Rush airtime. Us Ohioans that go back to those days of listening to WMMS are proud of that. Of course we don't listen to WMMS anymore because they pretty much suck, but back in the 70s it was THE station! So lighten up Francis! Rush is touring, I would venture to say most of us our going to some city to see them, and we continue to enjoy the music these guys provide us! now mellow!
  10. QUOTE (darth by tor @ Nov 30 2010, 01:36 PM) Pure speculation at this point. The boys have said in the past that they don't like the idea of touring without a release to support. So I'm going to stick my neck out I think they will either 1/release a live album of a Time Machine 2010 show. "Rush in Chile" anyone?! 2/go the route The Cult have been releasing capsules (2 new songs every couple of months) and give us a couple more songs from the 'Clockwork Angels" sessions. I would much the second option but either will do! Don't think so, but I have been wrong before. What I read was they were working on the new album, but despite that, wanted to continue the tour due to it's success. Who could blame them? And they are coming to CLEVELAND!!
  11. Nice pictures I see Neil still is sporting his headphones. So I guess they did not film the show then eh?
  12. QUOTE (RushNut @ Oct 11 2010, 07:45 AM) There's a story behind the duck clap thing. Yes, he has been doing that for years. My buddy had the chance to ask him (during his solo signing meet and greets at Best Buy) what he meant by it. His answer, "Just saying hello". So be sure to say hello back to Geddy next time!
  13. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Sep 28 2010, 09:29 AM) I'll bet a big reason why they aren't filming this is due to the shitty guitar tech(s) this tour. Has there been ANY Time Machine show yet where Alex's guitar didn't crap out at least once? Pittsburgh and Vegas were pretty good!
  14. QUOTE (PennSt8r @ Sep 17 2010, 10:22 AM) QUOTE (druid13 @ Sep 17 2010, 09:55 AM) I have seen every tour since Signals and that was defintely overall the best show they have done here...or in Burgettstown. Really liked seeing Rush play 'tight" but also grooving with a looseness and a musical sense maybe they did not have in their younger years. They have this material so well oiled they were fooling with time and parts and it was damn refreshing to see that. To me see ing exact reproduction is not my cup of tea....seeing musical development and growth from these tunes is...and that is what RUSH did last night. I can think of at least two tunes that really came alive in comparison to their studio counterparts and...one song from that album of the same title (no spoilers) that was really nice to hear again. No technical problems other than a BD mike which was fixed at halftime...crowd was great....STOOD ENTIRE SHOW...unlike what I am reading about some other snoozier areas of the country. Pittsburgh and RUSH had a great night last night....should have filmed it man. Really should have. Totally agree. Thought Ged's mic was a little loud, but other than that the show was great. Also the video at the end was so loud you could almost not make out what they were saying. Minor complaints in an otherwise tight show. This was my third show this tour. Every show Geddy's mic was a bit loud, every show the ending video was wayyy too loud. The video at least started without delay this show though. Other shows it was delayed where several people had left the arena seating area already. All in all it was the best of the three shows I had seen this tour. I didn't care much for the venue lighting of the steps though. The lights were not at step level, but came from the rafters. I thought that was a bit annoying. Can't wait for next tour!
  15. Dude - I met Alex, Geddy, and Neil in a limo at 3 AM the other night. I was chatting with Alex about his appearance on Trailer Park Boys and then talked with Geddy about actually meeting him during his solo CD signing tour. I then went to tap on Neil's shoulder (I was in the back seat and they were all in the front - which was strange as well) when I came to my senses and thought - don't even think about touching Neil! That alone woke me up and I thought to myself - WOW, I almost pissed Neil off! I've had other dreams as well - mostly concert experiences.
  16. Pittsburgh filming would be great because I will be there with one of my sons (age 13) and this is his first Rush show! @Tick - I agree - I had heard a comment from Geddy (somewhere??) that he said they would produce a DVD with every tour from here out because it was an easy production to do. THIS WEEK IN PITT!!
  17. Great pics. I have seen the show twice now and with your pictures I can finally see what the sausage time is all about behind Ged! I have got to get to Red Rocks next year!!
  18. I hear you on the social anxiety! I said the heck with it and did the Countdown game. Yes I was the loser that couldn't come up with one correct answer. Oh well it was fun and will definitely do rushcon again. Congrats to rushchick on the big win. Boy she deserved it!
  19. ghostworks - great post - you hit it dead on - I agree it doesn't make it better, but the perception makes you in tune or in line with it and you hear shit you never heard before. You focus on the music and nothing else. You hear notes you never heard before with this focus. So it comes across as better or maybe just a better experience. So yeah, for me it makes the music sound better. I can't say that I have ever listened to anything stoned though and said later that it sucked. Maybe not as good or for video not as funny, but sucked - no. No different than jokes with friends - yeah that wa really funny when we were stoned. Not so funny now that Joe broke his arm, but still funny. The ACC comment early - Back in 2007 i saw Rush at ACC and lit up right in my seat with my friends. I guess I really didn't care at the time. first time i lit up at a show in 20 years. Did not get dragged out by anyone - which was good. So this year we came preapared, but I wa cautious and decided against it. None the less there was the hotel before and after the show. I enjoyed myself just the same and the music was just as good.
  20. QUOTE (Hemispheres89 @ Jul 19 2010, 10:29 PM) QUOTE (Supersyl @ Jul 19 2010, 03:40 PM) is Porcupine Tree??? never heard one of their songs in my life.... Come on let's fly... to JUPITER ISLAND!!!!! Pretty good band, they are a bunch of younger guys I believe. Ruh is one of their biggest influences . You should check 'em out! Steven is 43 (born in 67 the year of Sgt. Pepper) ;-)
  21. To the poster that never heard of PT: I first heard about them at a Rush show in Chicago back in 2008. Now I have all their music and have seen them twice. Try them! My second behind Rush. To everyone that is saying that Rush is better live now than they were in the 80s: Have you thought that maybe it's because the technology they use now is that much better? How much more do they sequence now than they did back then? Allot! Of course they are going to sound better and put on a better show when it's triggered! And don't get all pissy with me about it! It's the sad truth about Rush we all know.
