  1. Tom Sawyer, then YYZ. Gives me time to put on my Depends
  2. They're just waiting for the stoners to get to their seats. Canadians are polite that way.
  3. Ricky: Play "I Like to Rock". Lifeson: That's April Wine. Ricky: Well, play that "Diane Sawyer" song! Just f***in' play something! That's why you're here!
  4. Agreed. His vocals were much better than the last few tours. He backed off and played bass during Anthem when he knew that he couldn't hit the note. "The wonders of the..." bass guitar instead of singing the word "world". Then he blew me away because he nailed the next line. "The wonders of the world they wrouuuuuuuuught!!! " I was stunned!
  5. Dammit. Cut off right before Hemispheres. Can't complain, really. What an epic setlist, amirite? I've been to almost every tour since '81 and this on takes the cake!
  6. Says the person with the feckin' Galactica in their signature! SHAKA...WHEN THE WALLS FELL!!
  7. And yes, the $15K price for the PRS is ridiculous. He played that for the intro to the song with the seagulls, yes? (Trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible, ya know?) A $250 Fender acoustic could easily handle that task.
  8. I understand both sides of the "argument" here. Not known for using a particular instrument for any length of time is a valid point. It's a signature model because his name is on it is also a valid point. Whatever... Can we get back on topic please?
  9. LIES!!!!! Please...you forced me to drink those martinis! Then you passed several beers, that you purchased, my way during the second set. I have multiple witnesses for cryin' out loud!!!! YOUR DENIAL IS PATHETIC!!!!
  10. Perhaps they'll play the entirety of their multiple, alternating sets from this tour? Last show and all... Why not? I'd do it if I were to be in their position. Blaze of glory and stuff. One can dream, yes? Neil can drive home after the show and hang up his cleats.
  11. I've always like the song but it was on another level last night. I was wondering if it was just me but it's nice to know others felt the same way. Is that a picture of yourself in your avatar? You look a lot like the guy that had a f***ed up room key (like all of us on the 8th floor) across the hall from me at the hotel. Did you stay at the De Anza last night in San Jose? U.S. Navy ball cap? No I drove home after the show and I have a lot less hair now lol. Understood. I was wearing my vodka goggles last night. (I blame that Unattractive Truth feller.) That being said, the resemblance is uncanny.

  13. Oh, he also played a Strat. Was that the Hentor?
  14. It's difficult to dicuss due to spoiler issues. I was focused like a laser beam on Alex's fiddles. He and Geddy changed guitars on practically every song! I have never seen them do that before. If this is indeed the end, I am a happy camper. What a display of technical prowess!
  15. I thought we'd see each other. Those are a matching set of paisley Telecasers. That's a T Bass. Indeed. I noticed that, too. By that point I was holding my jaw in hand to keep it from scraping the floor. Unbelievable set!
  16. I thought we'd see each other. Yeah, Suzanne and I looked for you, but it obviously didn't happen. Where was your seat? Sorry for the hijack!
  17. I'm still in shock. What an epic concert! Regarding gear, I was 5th row Alex's side, I was salivating. Beautiful instruments to gawk at at close range. The paisley Telecaster was an interesting anomaly.
  18. Meh...I'm more than happy with my beat up Norlin.
  19. I bumped this thread in order to show the final results. I had been waiting for over a month to have my tuners and humbuckers replaced. Out of frustration I went to the shop and pulled my guitar. I was tired of waiting and I knew that I was having smoke blown up my ass. I paid them for the services which were performed and walked outta there. Enter CygnusX-1Bk2. Doooood! Thank you so much for hooking me up! I appreciate it very much! Cyg replaced 4 out of the six tuners (two had stripped screws which made them impossible to remove); installed and soldered the wiring for two new DiMarzio Super Distortion Humbuckers; threw on a new set of strings, and did the setup and intonation. Again, thanks! You did in three hours what those dipsh*ts at the shop couldn't do in over a month! So.....this morning I managed to remove the two remaining tuners. Getting the stripped screws out was a bitch, but I managed to get 'er done. I replaced them then threw on a new set of strings, etc. So without further ado, here she is! Minor cosmetic issues resolved. New bracket for pickguard, new knob for the switch, two new humbuckers, and new tuners! http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa122/Perchance/100_2270.jpg A closeup of the humbuckers. Cyg replaced and did the wiring on the bridge and middle humbuckers. The neck humbucker is original. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa122/Perchance/100_2265.jpg There are still a couple of screws that I need to install. No biggie. Here's a shot of the new tuners. I replaced the high E and B string tuners this afternoon. Cyg installed the others. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa122/Perchance/100_2269.jpg I'm totally stoked. She sounds like a fire breathing dragon when she's going balls to the wall and has a nice clean tone when I want that, as well. I am a very happy camper.
  20. No probs at all. They were quite cordial and I'm sure it wasn't an act. The show was straight up, pure rock and roll. I'm feeling like a train rolled over me right now.
  21. Is there a dress code? I'm gonna be super pissed if I become persona non grata due to the loincloth. The show last night in Oakland kicked all sorts of ass. They didn't seem burned out to me at all! Highlights for me: Somebody Get Me a Doctor, Everybody Wants Some, I'll Wait, and Hot For Teacher.
  22. I downloaded S&A when it leaked and enjoyed it. It was the first Rush album that I listened to before the official release date. I'll be holding out this time. I've waited for two years for this album to come out. I can wait for another week.
  23. Yeah....now that I've really taken a closer look at yours, I concur. No offense.

I also have a HYF balloon that I got when it fell from the ceiling back on the 88 tour. Like this one? http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u351/Discipleoflerxst/100_5831.jpg God, that's it... as horrid as I remember it to be. Had a Van Halen one too. Don't feel bad. I bought one at the Cow Palace. Grace Under Pressure tour. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa122/Perchance/100_2247.jpg That one is in great shape...puts mine to shame. Even 25 years ago the paint was wearing off. It's in great shape because I never wore it! It's been in one of my closets for the last 28 years!
