I always liked the fact that this board censored some words and voted in support of it in this poll, but now I think I'm in favour of uncensoring "f**k" because I find the misspelled forms people use to get around the censoring to be more annoying than seeing the word itself. Congratulations to all fans of the meaningless intensifier.

Solaris Blueraven, Neil Peart, Michael Mosbach And Mind Control ( WTF ? )
GeddysMullet replied to Lucas's topic in Rush
If you're interested this sort of thing, there was also Mark Zahn, who had three different YouTube channels (Zahn, LegalZahn, and XLIBERATORX) documenting his life and his various paranoid delusions, including a complicated theory about Rush, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, the FBI, the NSA, and child pornography, which is partially laid out in the description section on this page: Zahn passed away a few years ago, but his YouTube channels remain as a fascinating and disturbing look at the life of a homeless paranoid schizophrenic. -
When I was a kid, I thought it was ironic that he did not write that song.

It's a dead heat between The Enemy Within and The Weapon for me. I like Freeze a lot, and find Witch Hunt boring aside from the Grace Under Pressure Live version which is redeemed by Geddy's wailing over the end.

Why is it selfish to want to see them perform just one more time....

Songs which were played more/less than you would expect
GeddysMullet replied to Eel Yddeg's topic in Rush
I think some of the setlist choices are to please the audience, and some of the choices are to include songs they enjoy playing. Don't forget, it's only partly about us! -
Cannot stand Muse. I've tried to get into them but I just can't make it through an entire Muse album no matter how hard I try.

Very difficult choice. They're both incredibly good, in that way that only Rush of that era could possibly be. I chose Hemispheres in the poll because although I suspect that Permanent Waves might actually be better, Hemispheres means more to me. I prefer both to Moving Pictures.

If Geddy & Alex make new music together, the band should be called...
GeddysMullet replied to JohnnyBlaze's topic in Feedback
Because Alex loves and needs to play in a way that Neil never really has. -
Keep in mind, in a sea of silly Fraroc polls, this one is especially silly. Despite his attempt to explain why he's comparing these two albums, there's no reason to compare them. May as well be comparing VT to a pair of pink fuzzy bunny slippers. So I guess I'm not allowed to discuss anything on this site anymore. I feel like you've said this before? Once or twice maybe? And yet, here you still are! ;-)

Who is the most annoying rock star?
GeddysMullet replied to treeduck's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I think he really only annoys rush fans because know one else knows who he is or cares. The others in this thread bother the general public I imagine. That's true, but I didn't remember if anyone here had mentioned him in this particular thread so I thought I'd ask. Too easy :rfl: -

I hate Oasis. Just...no...over exposed to them my whole life. You can't avoid them in the UK. thing is a don't really Really like the whole Britpop scene. But Oasis was particularly awful. Mick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy1ueZf1WMQ -

Why do these snob rockers like wine cellars so much? Is it a wine cellar, or is it a bondage dungeon? -

Well one of Rush did anyway... http://www.2112.net/...guitarworld.htm Rush are also on record as saying that all of their decisions are unanimous or they don't go forward. You'll need to pick which one to believe. They decided to leave out the U because Geddy and Alex didn't care as much about it as Neil did, and didn't want to pursue the argument. That is not inconsistent with a unanimous decision. Inconsistent with a unanimous decision would be something more like "Yeah, me and Alex thought it should be spelled with a U but that bastard Neil went behind our backs and arranged for it to be spelled without one, and by the time we found out, it was too late/not worth it to try to change it!" That's what I said? Not that I could tell! You seem to me to be saying that the fact that Vapor Trails is spelled without the U contradicts the statement that all of their decisions are unanimous or they don't go forward, and I don't believe that it does. Not at all. I'm saying either they made a unanimous decision or geddy and Alex wanted it with a U while Neil overruled their decision. Both can't be true. And I'm saying that I don't think that Neil "overruled" Geddy and Alex. I think the spelling was determined by a discussion among the three that eventually settled on a decision among the three to spell it without the U. Such a discussion and decision does indeed constitute a unanimous decision, and not one party "overruling" others. You literally don't understand my point. I am AGREEING with you. So what do I have to pick (per your original post)? I am thoroughly confused! Either way, the best of good evenings to you, sir

I forgot about Alex's rant during the soundcheck. That was great and gave me a big laugh too! As well as the part where he says "the bag kinda talked like this" while doing the funny voice. I so wanted him to keep going and do the whole routine. And although the occasion was certainly sad, I found the scene of Alex and Geddy arm-in-arm kind of uplifting. Like even though they had to say goodbye to Rush, they still had each other. It was very touching and comforting. I deeply appreciated that shot.

You know, I love Geddy, but that shirt was really not a good look for him
