I have been a big Reds fan forever. Not much to get excited about the last few years. Their run in first place this year was fun but it seems that they are fading. I am still living the 1990 season. My buddy and I got tickets for Game 4 in Oakland. Great to see the sweep. We brought brooms and dustpans; however, they took them from us as we entered. I am just happy that the Reds have won a World Series more recently then the hated Dodgers...

QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Jul 22 2010, 04:38 PM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Jul 22 2010, 05:34 PM) The Mods and Admins aren't that nice.... I've met a few of 'em. One of them has a 1000 yard stare that gave me the collywobbles. Another has a real cold clammy fishlike handshake. Another gave me a bear-hug and cracked one of my ribs. Another kidnapped my doppelganger. Haven't seen Hugo in years. Another, sorry, can't bring that one up, too many memories. They're way too powerful. Every time an appliance goes wallop in my house, one of them will PM me and say,"told ya.." Sorry, man. Ooops...there goes another rib. Help,,,,I'm being oppressed!!!! -

for my 2112th post... Hey Rushman! Great posts. Love all the pics... I actually pass by that part of Hollywood nearly everyday on the way to work. That morning I saw them blocking off an area. I had a passing thought, I wonder what's going on. I knew the boys were getting a star soon but had not been following too closely. What an idiot, I am. In the words of Maxwell Smart, Missed it by that much...

QUOTE (Modest Man From Mandrake @ Jul 7 2009, 11:02 PM) Mayer did a fabulous job on Human Nature. It was reportedly one hell of a memorial. I didn't watch any part of it other than the John Mayer video, and the video of Paris Jackson saying good-bye to her daddy. My wife is currently watching a replay of it in our room. I can hear bits and pieces coming from my room. My heart and prayers go out to his 3 children. I say forget about the negativity that had surrounded MJ from time to time in life. The fact remains that those 3 kids just lost their daddy, and that's a seriously heart wrenching tragedy. R.I.P Michael. No...great post... You hit the nail on the head...

QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Nov 10 2008, 04:29 PM) QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Nov 10 2008, 06:18 PM) QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Nov 10 2008, 06:01 PM) Maybe the idiot is the quarterback coach that won't, you know, f***ing coach the quarterback! Big Ben is becoming a monkey on this team's back. 3 INT's and that one at the end of the 1st half was a joke. I think someone needs to take Ben to the woodshed and straighten his ass out. But they won't because he makes too much money. Anyway, the Steelers should be fine but their ability to compete with the best teams in the league are becoming a question mark as long as Rothlesberger doesn't take care of the ball. That's a decent summary. This has been driving me crazy this season. Its as if he just assumes he will be able to escape the rush on any passing play. His impromptu scrambles are now becoming his game style. Unfortunately, someone needs to sit Ben down and tell him that he doesn't have the speed or durability to do this all season long. Holds the ball way too long and throws on the run WAY too much, causing bad passes and untimely interceptions. Last night's INT late in the game was pathetic Word. word x2...

But a W is a W. MVP of the game should have gone to Browns coach Romeo Crennel his expertise and genius shines through again. 3:21 left in game Browns down 10-3 4th and 7 from Pittsburgh twenty yard line, Romeo sends Dawson in to kick worthless field goal... He did the same thing last week against Dallas late in the game. i really don't know why he get's so much credit for being so great. because they won 10 games last year? i am so sick of hearing about R.C. and how great he is. he's not. let it go E.S.P.N I hope you know I was being sarcastic... Trust me no Browns fans in NE Ohio feel he's worthy of being called great. Kick a field goal were still down by four OR go for it and try to get a first down take some time off the clock, and GET THE BALL INTO THE END ZONE! point after tie the game. But noooooo what ever his bonehead logic was he goes for three and let's your Steelers work the clock down 0-10 and counting. The worst part about that is the Brown's field goal meant that the Steelers didn't cover. (Shakes head, walks away muttering, "Quit betting on the Steelers")

Baltimore Ravens??? Do they still field an NFL team? Last I heard, they were trying to get Central Louisiana State off of their schedule!!! When everyone talks about the Steelers' tough schedule, they were not talking about the 2 games with the Nevermores...
-
Given their tough schedule, they better go 2-0... With Brady going down and Indy and SD losing in week 1, the Steelers would be the team to beat... If the O-line holds, this could be a great season. I love that Big Ben was 13 of 14. This is very similar to how they played in the SuperBowl Season. I know it's early, but I like the start!!! Go Steelers!!!

QUOTE (subdivider79 @ Jun 7 2008, 10:30 PM) The Steelers have the toughest schedule I've seen in a long, long time. I really like what the team has done on offense with the skill positions, but the OL worries me greatly. I guess we just have to trust the coaching staff on this one, and hope the unit gels..and keeps Roethlisberger upright long enough to get the ball downfield. I honetly think the Steelers are gonna get back to around a 60-40 split in favor of the run, and drafting Mendenhall should only reinforce that. Ben threw the ball too much last season, and it cost the Steelers..most particularly the playoff game against Jax. Roethlisberger is just one of these QB's who is more effective when he isn't called upon to spread the field. I think it's crucial to keep his reps between 22 and 25 a game, and rely on the ground game to get the points and control the clock. I think the Steelers can win 10 again, and take the division. But the brutality of the schedule will ensure a broken down team at the end, especially if Tomlin wears the guys out again early like he did last season. One thing I wanna see change from last year is the habit of the Steelers playing down to the competition. That bullshit needs to stop. Agree with everything you said... Especially concerned about the O Line!!! Go Steelers...

QUOTE (GotRush @ Jun 9 2008, 05:25 PM) QUOTE (New World Kid @ Jun 9 2008, 06:37 PM) Personally, if that is how the ticket is worded, I'd take it to court and claim that you didn't know adding a "?" (a non-character for license plates) was altering the plate, but rather personalizing it. I contacted the courts & I have to appear on the date listed due to the fact it's a " Criminal " ticket. They asked me directly what happened & then asked me if it was corrected, and seemed to think all i will get is a very reduced fine or possibly no fine. If I want to plead not guilty & summons the cop & set a date in front of a judge I can do that too..... The comments here run the gamut on this subject. I have previously (2006) got a Red light camera ticket with that sticker & they had No problem finding me. I also have been pulled over before FOR having the sticker on the plate, those two phoenix police officers caught me as I was just blocks from my house & followed me there, They at first tried to Enter the plate with the ? mark....laughing , we talked about the sticker & Rush & they NEVER told me to remove it or that it was a Criminal act ! I had couple other law enforcement officers see it & never said anything, and countless times had Police right behind me & they did nothing ! Very Discretional I guess. I have learned my lesson, just hope it's no too expensive. You can probably use your past experiences to your advantage in court... However, you need to find out how much the possible fine is. If it is fairly inexpensive, pay it and move on. If it is ridiculous, you have to fight it... Remember, that we are all behind you!!!

QUOTE (kbomb106 @ May 31 2008, 02:55 PM) QUOTE (JoenataArctica @ May 31 2008, 04:30 PM) ...yeah That's why I waited for the end of the format war. Beta taught me a thing or 2 about competing formats. Some retailers are offering money to trade in your HD-DVD for (very limited) money back. You might want to investigate what (if anything) you can get in unloading it - because in all honesty, outside of being a future collectible, it's going to do nothing but lose value. I'm waiting for the price of BluRay to come down. And now Microsoft is saying that the future isn't in discs, but in downloading. Guess there heart really wasn't in HD-DVD, then. Beta??? You are really showing your age... (Why can't I find the old guy emoticon?) I'm right there with you...I remember a VCR that only worked for 60 minutes at a time... Although, I also remember 8 tracks!!! (Not reel-to-reel, though...)
