  1. QUOTE (CygXanTor @ Apr 7 2010, 05:00 PM) QUOTE (tupelobarchetta @ Apr 7 2010, 04:22 PM) My attempt to leap into Thursday by changing the computer date/time to the Samoan time zone didn't amount to anything. I got all zeroes on the meter, but that was it. No early peek at tour dates. Oh, well. Guess I'll be up bright and early tomorrow morning like the rest of you. This may be hard to believe coming from a long time, hard-core fan such as myself, but I can actually wait. Until I bought my 1st computer about 10 years ago, for the 20+ years before that, that's all I could do... wait.....zzzzz....for magazine articles, and radio announcements...Yet I still managed to see our boys every time they came to my area, starting with AFTK. yea i'm the same way. i'm not going crazy waiting for dates to pop up on the screen. i would much rather here some news on what they're doing with new material.

I am a saddo... Funny, that's what I was thinking. Screenshot, anyone? That would be epic. Let's commission someone to stake it out. woohoo! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e129/4WAT/RUSH/04072010_0948AM.jpg [^ that will 'actually' occur tomorrow... 9:48 AM EST Wednesday, April 7] May be this image is the new album cover design for the tour... that would mean they are playing 2112 in it's entirety.
  3. QUOTE (proudlyrushian @ Apr 6 2010, 07:00 PM) I just know I am going to be staring at that stupid clock all day tomorrow. this is probably what they want. they throw something up there with a countdown clock to drive people up the wall.
  4. QUOTE (MCM @ Apr 6 2010, 05:40 PM) QUOTE (Phantom @ Apr 6 2010, 05:35 PM) The graphics are pretty cool. The 3 round holes beneath the clock, and the 3 tiny logo's beside the spyglass are pretty cool too. Can anyone tell what the 3 small images are? Three peepholes; three little logo things; and three pipes showing in the largest peephole with the glass cover.. I wonder if these things will change somehow as we get closer to "the announcement"? they've already changed for some people.
  5. QUOTE (proudlyrushian @ Apr 6 2010, 03:15 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 6 2010, 02:08 PM)QUOTE (rocketom @ Apr 6 2010, 07:14 AM) Rush.com has a countdown clock on it's homepage, i'm assuming it means the tour dates are coming in less than 48 hours. never assume. It makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. exactly
  6. whatever it is i like it. i like the buildup and hope it's anything but a countdown to another compilation album. it's gotta be news about either the tour or new album.

  8. i like the larger bowl alot. i hope they play this song in the second set so when you guys are taking your beer break, i can upgrade my seat. don't bother trying to push me out or calling for security because security doesn't care in the second 1/2 of the show.
  9. sun is out finally. 70's are on the way and hopefully the cold is gone.
  10. QUOTE (tel @ Mar 31 2010, 05:35 AM) QUOTE (GeddyLeeRoth @ Mar 30 2010, 10:34 PM) If they brougt back Anthem, Something For Nothing, Xanadu (scrapped this from their set too quick), Hemispheres, Jacob's Ladder, Camera Eye, Enemy Within and Marathon, I wouldn't care if the rest of the show was all Presto & Hold Your Fire. xanadu, dropped to quickly? this song has been done to death for decades! xanadu has been played but for me it never gets old. great great song live and alex brings out his beautiful doubleneck for that one.
  11. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Mar 30 2010, 10:19 PM) Guys, Rush is already confirmed to play a lot of the same arenas they played in 2007 and 2008. I guarantee you they wouldn't get great ticket sales if they scrapped the classics and played nothing but B-Sides. Word would get out about no "Tom Sawyer, Spirit, Limelight, Subdivisions, etc" and they'd lose a big chunk of their casual fans A total B-Sides set list aint happening of course they will play those 4 but building around that with some songs they haven't played in a while and mixed in with some b-sides isn't unrealistic is it?
  12. we'll see what happens. i'm done getting my hopes up, but looking forward to the tour and some new tunes.
  13. QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Mar 30 2010, 01:04 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 30 2010, 12:05 PM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Mar 30 2010, 12:52 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 30 2010, 09:18 AM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Mar 30 2010, 10:14 AM) QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 29 2010, 08:25 PM) I'm really trying to think of what he might come up with to top the chicken roasters. (Yes, things are slow at work). An ATM that spits out real cash (to be dispensed to the crowd) comes to mind! But seriously. . .what large fun object should occupy space on his side of the stage? Thoughts? Bring back the Rickenbacker NOW Lose the dryers and rotisseries..instead make the stage like a living room with couch, coffee table and recliner set to the left of stage(they can exit this way too) with certain time-specific Rush artwork, like the dogs playing cards painting, stuffed animals in the likeness of the snowdog and snowy owl. A flatscreen TV that plays a long loop video of everything related to Rush throughout their history. Neil's motorcycle(or a prop) sitting there next to a working refrigerator (that the guys can open and drink stuff out of during the concert) with a case of Macallan next to it for preload for the next road trip(nothing wrong with a little commercialism..its already being done of course). Emphasis on fun! Clever little subtlety there! That is kind of a cool idea. And if they have the contest a la "Snakes on A Stage" type thing where two people win passes to sit onstage - they could hang on the couch! That would be hilarious. Imagine how thrilling that would be to sit on that couch for a song or two. And drink The Macallan at the same time! Ha ha. I'll be drinking something else, as The Macallan is as vile-tasting as a whiskey comes! i have to agree. that stuff is rancid and i can't believe i wasted money on it. ended up giving the bottle away.
  14. QUOTE (RushNut @ Mar 30 2010, 07:31 AM) Instead of the chicken roasters, how about just a few large cages with live chickens in them? That would really get PETA fuming! just what we need is some wacko peta protesters outside a rush concert.
  15. it's rainy cold and i'm sick of this weather.
  16. QUOTE (Alex @ Mar 28 2010, 07:57 PM) "Our Fans Are Overly-Critical Self-Centere Douche Bags" tour. Because thats what most of us are displaying now. beautiful! post of the day.
  17. yea it's all fashion trends and what label is the one to be seen with. No one jacket is going to keep you warm. you have to dress in layers. i'm a cabelas man myself.

Making Memories! love that tune. alex doing some slide guitar. I love listening to it while driving. i remember back in high school i was trying to decide what rush quote to put under my senior year book photo. i was going to pick some words from making memories but some other dude took it. i ended up going with a line from analog kid. it's all good.

  22. she doesn't want to go through everything all over again and i can't blame her. i think when they let this piece of scum off the hook again, he'll be back in europe in the blink of an eye. Swartzenegger commented that Polanski should be treated like everyone else. touche arnold! no free passes and throw him in the slammer.
  23. letterman made the announcement because he didn't want to wake up one morning and have the story of him sleeping with a few co-workers going around. yeh, letterman, he's a stand up guy. pffffft. the story will get swept under the rug and forgotten about anyway.
  24. am i the only one that doesn't find seinfeld funny anymore?
