  1. Listening to U2 is like a rainy Monday in Belgium. It's an "OK" place.... nothing wrong with it.... but your heart really wants to be somewhere else. :D
  2. A Show of Hands is still the best. But I love Time Machine. Absolutely ADORE it . Even Geddy's voice can't ruin that almost perfect experience. :D I have never been too excited about the S&A vid.
  3. You appreciate the talent and musicianship of Rush. One of the most talented rock bands ever without a doubt. So why wouldn't you appreciate something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD4M12cFNgc What there is not to like? Virtuoso playing, amazing musicianship... jazzy, proggy elements and everything. Rush is a bit more demanding than average pop music but then again so is this. Just a bit different. My wife said that I like "powerful, emotional music". Rush and Pink Floyd fall into that category. So does DMB (in their prime here). Cheers.
  4. Is Marathon actually the best song Rush ever made? I think it's pretty damn close. I was a Led Zep/Pink Floyd guy. I thought no other band ever could ever come close to their awesomeness. Until I saw this. This was kind of a "Damn... this is the best band ever" moment to me. I was about 20 years old back then. This ASOH video really hit me hard and esp. Marathon. What a fantastic song it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP58U_R3gK0
  5. I'm a big fan, been since the 90's. Probably the only one in Europe. None of my friends have ever heard of them here. :D They're just North American band. I don't like their latest works very much though. Under the Table and Dreaming, Crash and Before these Crowded Streets were great... and the live albums from that era. Stand up and the newest album (I don't even remember its name lol) are really, really disappointing stuff. Is it a coincidence that the quality dropped immediately after Leroi Moore's death? But they're among the most talented bands out there. Great musicians. Carter Beauford is among the best drummers.
  6. What a great tune "Dreams" is. This cover is pretty damn good too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P6O_bMvxdI
  7. Almost impossible to choose between The Wreckers and The Garden, but I chose the latter.
  8. I agree. It's pretty bad, musically. But then so is 99% of MTV shit. But I still found it interesting. Female voice singing Rush songs...
  9. How about this version? :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y0hKk4YHXo
  10. Prime Mover is amazing. PS: Am I the only one who loves Turn the Page? Great guitar solo in that... great lyrics.
  11. I love that fuckking album!!!! China Town and She's the Woman are brutally awesome.
  12. I'm interested in Buddhism and especially rebirth... so I wouldn't choose a Rush song... I'd take "Here I go again" by Whitesnake.
  13. Camel's debut albun = Best debut album ever?
  14. That William Tell Overture in the end is pure "speedprog". Crazy but I loved it. :D
  15. The Big Money Subdivisions Marathon Manhattan Project Middletown Dreams Prime Mover The Wreckers The Garden Red Tide Available Light Dreamline Jacob's Ladder Natural Science ---intermission--- The Spirit of Radio 2112 (Syrinx) Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta YYZ Cut to the Chase Analog Kid Red Sector A Show Don't Tell Chain Lightning Afterimage Time Stand Still I know this is completely unrealistic but it's MY dream setlist.
  16. Yeah... and after the farewell tour you can always come back as often as you want. Just ask The Who.
  17. I like your sense of humor. :D
  18. Gotta admit that "A Different Kind of Truth" is surprisingly good album.
  19. Hagar interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIKbHajqElw Pretty good old soap opera stuff. http://rocknewsdesk....aster-tour/712/
  20. I think everyone agrees that Cherone sucked ass. Not his fault though... he tried his best and was a professional. He just didn't fit in at all. And hiring him was an idiotic move by the brothers.
  21. 1. Cut to the Chase 2. Double Agent 3. Cold Fire 4. Nobody's Hero 5. Leave That Thing Alone 6. Animate 7. Between Sun & Moon 8. Everyday Glory 9. Stick It Out 10. Alien Shore 11. The Speed of Love
  22. To me U2 is like tobacco without nicotin... beer without alcohol... coffee without caffeine, etc. U2 = Thinking man's Duran Duran for the MTV Awards Generation. Most overrated band ever, period.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkiYZz_ieyg
  24. If you like Boston/Journey/Foreigner-type of melodic soft AOR rock (I do, among many other perverse things) these can't be beaten. Great voice, great tunes... from former Bad Company singer's solo album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wn8TvI38FDg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwARjkqDrHY
