  1. I like Power Windows, so those songs are cool with me.....not a huge fan of hearing Red Sector A, Working Man, Bravado, Where's My Thing and can do without Halo Effect and Wish Them Well.....The YouTube clips sound pretty good though..
  2. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Sep 5 2012, 08:23 PM) QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Sep 5 2012, 01:28 AM) http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z437/drbirdsong/FlyFromHere.jpg I listened to Fly From Here for the first time in several months. Lots of great melody and for a late period album by an older band it is really good. It grows better with time and repeated listening. Good album I've listened to it a few times recently, and it's not bad...
  3. I'll give it a 5.5.....a few steamers in there for sure...
  4. QUOTE (DBJetsman @ Sep 7 2012, 10:28 PM) That's the most bulls*** setlist I've ever seen. 4 songs from PoW (ONE OF THERE WORST ALBUMS EVER) and not even the best one (Marathon)? 2 songs from Signals and Moving Pictures: REALLY??? They are complete dumbasses and will never ever be the greatest band ever... My dad now doesn't even want to go anyone because the setlist is a giant pile of s***
  5. no BU2B is pretty surprising.....and Halo Effect and Wish Them Well, can't wait to hear those
  6. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Sep 7 2012, 09:06 PM) You know the setlist...how ya feelin about it? not so good....
  7. QUOTE (traeplien @ Sep 7 2012, 09:29 PM) QUOTE (Dscrapre @ Sep 7 2012, 10:26 PM) Set 1 Subdivisions The Big Money Force 10 Grand Designs The Body Electric Territories Analog Kid Bravado Where's My Thing Far Cry Intermission Set 2 Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies The Wreckers Headlong Flight Wish Them Well The Garden Manhatten Project Red Sector A YYZ Working Man Encore Tom Sawyer The Spirit of Radio I'm sorry, but for my own personal enjoyment, this setlist pretty much blows. No 70s, No 90s, No VT, Very little representation of Permanent Waves. NO VARIETY! I think the worst part of all of this is the lack of Limelight. I know that it's over-played and I personally never listen to it, but it's a classic that everybody knows and is definitely one of those unifying concert experiences that I feel this list is almost completely devoid of. I totally agree with you and it would also appear we have the same three three favorite bands. Nice. I'm not a huge fan of the setlist either.....nothing from the 70's.....fcuk that..
  8. QUOTE (zac2112 @ Sep 7 2012, 06:49 PM) this set list blows so far, the synth stuff mostly sucks, a couple other songs ok. meh it's OK. Good to see Grand Designs and The Body Electric...
  9. QUOTE (av450 @ Sep 2 2012, 10:59 AM) Quality thread quality lyrics....
  10. Thoughts? It sucked bad. Could hardly sit through it..
  11. Lots of people here DO care. It's just cool to pretend they don't....and the RRHOF is a joke....blah, blah.
  12. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 1 2012, 06:23 AM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Aug 31 2012, 11:23 PM) got tickets for Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel at the end of Sept.... Awesome show!! I saw it when it came here last november. Anthrax will play the same old crap because they're the laziest band i've ever seen when it comes to making setlists. Still, they put on a good enough show that you don't mind that too much once the concert is done. The big difference this time around will be that Testament has a new album out so I expect some changes in their set. I saw some of the setlists they were playing over in Europe recently and they're doing the first four songs off the new album, so that will be great for you to hear. yes, looking forward to it. Not a huge Anthrax fan, so what they play doesn't matter a whole lot. Testament however....
  13. got tickets for Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel at the end of Sept....
  14. QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Aug 27 2012, 07:47 PM) QUOTE (They Bow Defeated @ Aug 27 2012, 01:06 PM) QUOTE (StellarJetman @ Aug 26 2012, 07:46 PM)Fanboys ruin everything. You mean, "haters ruin everything," right? I mean that fanboys ruin everything. This thread is loaded with horrible fanboys on both sides of the issue. If you like "The Wreckers", you're an idiot with no musical taste and don't deserve to listen to the band in the first place (according to the "elitist Rush connoisseur" type of fanboy). If you don't like it, you're a miserable "hater" who can't be happy about anything and are probably lying about liking the band anyway (according to the YOU HAVE TO LIKE EVERYTHING THAT RUSH DOES OR YOU AREN'T A TRUE FAN type of fanboy). What separates fanboys from plain old fans is that fanboys have to be retarded about what they like. When they argue, everybody loses. I'm beginning to remember why I took such a long break from this forum. agree.....explains why most of the good folks are long gone....
  15. QUOTE (Ghostnotes @ Aug 18 2012, 08:24 PM) QUOTE (robertrobyn @ Aug 18 2012, 10:37 AM) I agree also I like the vinyl the best. Just wanted to ask, because the MP 96/24 is outstanding. Where to get???? https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=cat...=HD016861765637
  16. QUOTE (Empty Mindless Spectre @ Aug 25 2012, 01:56 PM) QUOTE (FountainOfSyrinx @ Jul 24 2012, 11:19 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jul 24 2012, 10:36 PM) QUOTE (HigherWater @ Jul 24 2012, 07:58 PM) Good God! I've been away from the forum for about a week and it seems like in that time the haters have completely taken over! Why is Rush not aloud to write a song with a verse/chorus/bridge alignment (The Wreckers) or a song with a nice bouncy melody (Wish Them Well)? CA is a good if not great balanced record that the guys can be very proud of. I cannot believe that a Forum member would say, "I'd be embarrassed for Rush if they played that song on the radio." What a worthless, obnoxious thing to say. I'm sorry but seriously, as much as I hate Superconductor I would never say I was embarrassed for Rush. What embarrasses me are Rush fans that act like turds every time the guys try to give us something new. Like the new album, hate the new album-- Whatever. But don't for a second feel embarrassed for Rush-- They are a lot better than you! It's sub-par album, and to me The Wreckers is one of the worst tracks....doesn't sound like Rush or represent any aspect of Rush that I like.. lol. Define Rush. Please. Funny you should say "define Rush", because that is exactly what I was thinking. IMO, if there is one song on Clockwork Angels that "defines" the trademark sound of Rush, it is The Wreckers. Really?? How so? It sounds almost nothing like something Rush would normally do. Take the vocals out, and there is nothing musically that sounds like Rush. That's where my comment comes from. Sounds like something that was thrown together and highly influenced by Nick/Foo Fighters for sure..
  17. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Aug 26 2012, 12:30 PM) Forrest Gump. no kidding...the most obvious choice to me..
  18. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Aug 26 2012, 02:02 PM) Lifeson is the only one I'd approach and even that would be a judgment call, just based on what I have heard about each of the guys. Neil obviously a no-no...Geddy I have heard is a toughie too. Lifeson seems to be the one more cordial and down to Earth. The one time I did meet Geddy at his record signing he didn't seem to be enjoying himself at all. No smile, little eye contact, and the pictire I got with him is funny because I have a huge grin and he looks so annoyed....and this was at a public appearance where people are buying his album and he's SUPPOSED to be nice, so I can imagine how it would go when he's just trying to enjoy a baseball game outside of his Rush world... We all have bad days. We all have days where if someone says the wrong thing, we might snap. Everyone judging Geddy based on some heresy story by a radio guy might be getting all bent for nothing. The 2 times I have approached celebrities about a picture were average experiences. They both seemed annoyed but didn't come out and say anything asshole-like. They took their picture and were done with it I would never approach any of them anywhere. I wouldn't even want to meet them under any circumstances...
