  1. QUOTE (yetz @ Feb 27 2008, 04:56 PM) Giants fan for a day!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v445/yetz/Family/Animals/Picture010.jpg Oh my god that is too funny! Poor cats have so much pride it is so terrible yet hilarious to see them dressed up! Beautiful cat by the way.
  2. Just in case we don't have enough shoveling to do to begin with... we opt to build an awesome labyrinth for our cats each year. Hard to get far away enough to snap a photo that does the maze much justice but here is Carmen and Harley playing around in it. It's the weirdest thing... it just blows their minds... breaks their little brains... they wander around meowing and exploring... never once do they think of trying to jump over the maze. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s294/Godeater2112/catlabyrinth.jpg

    R30

"peart's ass" LOL Maybe this should be moved into that ever so racy "Neil is Hot" thread in the NWW sub forum. Seriously though dude I don't know the answer to your question however if you purchased something that is a "sampler" it is fairly likely it is a select cut of just a few tracks off R30 for radio stations to play. Probably a cool collectible but not the entire album I would IMAGINE.
  4. I guess once an episode has been aired we can assume discussing the episode is not spoiling anything? Correct me if I'm wrong... Anyways If you haven't seen the last episode yet... spoilers below... Didn't really dig the whole courtroom drama scene but I guess it was necessary in a way and we'll have to see how and if Kate gets herself out of this one... Anyways it is the Oceanic Six by the way... so now we have Sayid, Jack, Kate, Hugo and AARON I guess. Wonder who number six is? I don't imagine Ben counts because he wasn't on the flight... although we did see him tending Sayid's wounds two episodes back... Things are due to start picking up soon... should get very interesting when Desmond et al arrive back at the supposed ship.
  5. I won't read the spoiler but thanks for reminding me it's LOST day today! Early morning my head is still in a fog. I hope this eppie is awesome because last week was sort of so-so imo. You know what I wonder... since the writers strike is over they can make more eps this season but not as many as they intended. I think they will make 5 more for a total of 13 instead of the original plan of 16. If they CRAM in all the lot details from what was supposed to be 8 eps into just 5 eps can you imagine how crazy/awesome those final five this season will be?
  6. All I can add right now is that it won't be from Wally World but hot DAMN I am looking forward to scoop up "Run Lola Run" for this weekend and enjoy it in all its high-def BluRay glory. Haven't seen that in ages. Classic!
  7. Well I don't know the technolilogicalistic gigglewatt details of the formats guys... but there is no way upscaled DVD (even those filmed in high definition) come close to actual HD media. Even if you don't have 1080p which I don't there is a marked difference. Then again that's just my eyeballs talking.
  8. QUOTE (The Owl @ Feb 19 2008, 09:58 AM) It's all over but the cryin' Toshiba throws in the towl. Blu-Ray Wins I'd expect Paramount and Universal (plus their subsideries), the only 2 studios that backed hd-dvd exclusivly, to announce their "support" for blu-ray within a week or so. Finally! Battlestar Galactica BluRay coming down the pipe me hopes!
  9. I got about 48 coolies chilling in the fridge, a massive beef tenderloin ready for the BBQ... a nice tv on which I will be playing Rock Band and watching some concerts on tonight with a cute little blonde... it's about minus 700 degrees outside and hasn't stopped snowing in ~72 hours and I worked way too much this week and really need to party it up with the cats tonight. I dunno about excuse... short of a tropical holiday or seeing Rush live this evening I can't think of much I would rather be doing. Hope everybuddy else is enjoying their Friday too. Cheers to you all!
  10. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Feb 15 2008, 02:41 PM) I offer sincere apologies, sir, but as a card-carrying "cheap bastard" I love Wal-Mart and shop there quite often. Walmart is renowned for strong arming companies to adhere to 'their' definition of what is deemed appropriate often completely circumventing national and international ratings systems of the actual countries they reside in! If people stopped buying media such as movies, games, music there this would send them a real message. Most consumer don't even know this and often purchase something thinking that is the artists intended product whereas in reality Walmart hacked off pieces they didn't like. Sure many of us are familiar with them blocking content like Grand Theft Auto and ratings censorship fiascos and that level... but the fact you could purchase a CD or movie there and it would simply be MISSING songs or scenes without it even saying *edited by WalMart* on the box? Man that totally crosses the line. What good are associations like the ESRB and MPAA etcetera... if an artist goes through all the painstaking work to make something adhere to a standard and then some corporation can just say "Too bad not good enough for us... change it how we want or go away". I think it should be criminal. Anyway.. maybe over time or not you will change your opinion as to how important of an issue it is but... I know you're a BIG film buff Jack and maybe just maybe one day you will watch a movie at a friends house and see a WHOLE NEW SCENE that you never knew was missing from your version at home and maybe that will change your perspective. Sorry for the tangent folks. BluRay is awesome!
  11. QUOTE (EveryNerveAware @ Feb 15 2008, 02:26 PM) More news to cement Blu-Ray as the standard HD format: http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/15/technology...dex.htm?cnn=yes Good info EveryNerveAware! I want to remind everyone though... don't EVER buy movies or music or video games at Walmart though... they are the evil Censorshit Monster.

Black is everything Pull me right out of reality The emptiness that's me Black is everything Put me right out of my misery Do what you want to me Life outside goes on The world is crashing inside out Gently hacking off the hinges Erase the space, erase the memory Missing time What I don't know will never hurt me Missing time Cannot forget cannot remember Missing time This information is forever Missing time Black is everything Got the answer right in front of me It's everything I see Time ouside moves on The world I know is crumbling down Bringing to a lost sensation Erase the space, erase the memory Missing time What I don't know will never hurt me Missing time Cannot forget cannot remember Missing time This information is forever Missing time Erase the space, erase the memory Missing time What I don't know will never hurt me Missing time Cannot forget cannot remember Missing time This information is forever Missing time
  14. I could probably think of a dozen movies I can rewatch on a constant loop for days straight but one that really comes to mind at this moment is: TOP SECRET! Starring a young Val Kilmer whom I would opine delivers the most brilliant acting of his career - this movie just slays me with laughs from beginning to end. Nick Rivers' soundtrack title for this film "How Silly Can You Get?" just about sums this movie up perfectly. I just don't think a film could possibly be much more silly or fun.
  15. QUOTE (afurrything @ Feb 12 2008, 11:12 AM) QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Feb 12 2008, 11:07 AM) Visitor Q only gets worse as it goes. Miike was off his rocker with that one. I guess I won't attempt to watch it again then. We didn't know what it was about and had started it with my son in the room, he was 5 at the time. Didn't think it was appropriate for him. He loves to watch Asian Horror tho. Even when he couldn't read the subtitles and couldn't understand what they were saying. He loves horror movies tho. He has quite the collection of dvds , and he is only 7 now! Rilly you watch these with your seven year old?!
  16. I think he's an icky stinky pompous pallid knob who is pen pals with Gary Glitter. His only TINY TINY redeeming quality imo would have to be Candle in the Wind which is actually a lovely song.
  17. Rest in peace Roy - I really loved you in Naked Lunch, Tiger Town, 52 Pickup, The Marathon Man and Videodrome - not to mention Jaws.
  18. BluRay is awesome as is HD-DVD. They are both equally and vastly superior to DVD... Sucked they put out two HD formats but as others here have said HD-DVD is all but dead so it's safe to finally jump onto BluRay and know it will be around for a long long time. One thing you should know Ricky is that most (if not all new) BluRay players will actually upscale your old DVDs to make them look quite a bit better - although not as great as full fledged high definition obviously. For me this is great I have lots of old DVDs that I love and can keep... and a few of the exceptionally awesome and visually stunning ones I can upgrade. Blade Runner for example... bought that one on BluRay... abolsutely mesmerizing... my jaq was on the floor the entire film.

  21. the guy is an ass. Every movie of his looks like it should have potential then it just turns out to be some enormous let down. A great example of whats wrong with Hollywood horror - all hype and no substance. Even the guys name bugs me - sounds like he spent six months trying to think of the most eerie and weird and intriguing moniker possible. Unless I am too baked to get off the couch and find the remote control... I'll never be subjected to one of his films again. My two cents...

  23. It was just another day It was just another fight It was words strung into sentences It was doomed to not be right There is something wrong with me There is something wrong with you There is nothing left of us There is one thing I can do Lying on your bed, examining my head This is the part of me that hates Paybacks are a bitch, I throw the switch Somewhere the electric chair awaits Hey! This was my life Hey! This was my fate This was the wrong thing to do This was the wrong one to be doing This was the road to destiny This was the road to my ruin Now there's motives for the suspect Now there's nothing left to say Now there's method to the madness Now there's society to pay In our life there's if In our beliefs there's lie In our business there's sin In our bodies there's die
