  1. Riverside is great... their latest EP "Memories in My Head" is fantastic as well.... cannot wait for their new album, that they're in the middle of making right now...dosen't seem like it will make 2012, but early 2013 is just as great.

  6. 14 years old, Freshman year of High School... it was going down during first period... didn't get wind of it until going into world history class second period... it was on the TV and the 2nd plane had just hit a minute or two before... watched the towers collapse.... Ill never forget that day.
  7. Couldn't think of a better title for the thread... but, regardless of what's on the setlist, I do want to commend the boys for going the drastic route and making a setlist that varies drastically from the previous (Time Machine) tour... The Setlists over the last decade from tour to tour have been somewhat redundant, having alot of repeat songs on the current tour that were on the previous tour... thus ( and I am using the live DVD setlists for the following stats.. EDIT TO ADD, just for the Vapor Trails tour, I am going by the dvd and not setlists from that tour...as the VT tour did offer up a few changes during the tour...setlist wise) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Vapor Trails tour/ R30 tour: 16 tracks in common (of roughly 30 songs on each tour)... just over 50% of setlist is the same - R30 tour/ S&A Tour (either leg): 9 songs in common (12 on the second leg) (of 27 on S&A/30 on R30)...less than half - S&A Tour/ Time Machine Tour: 9 in common (10 if you include S&A leg 2) (of 25 on Time Machine/of 27 on S&A) - Time Machine tour/ CA tour: 7 songs in common (of 26 on CA/of 25 on Time Machine) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regardless of the songs that were played, you should be able to comment that Rush significantly cut down on the repeats from the last tour... that's a good thing..... It might not be all you would have wanted, but at least its a far different show than the last tour... and drastically different from than previous tours compared to even earlier tours in the past decade.
  8. Tom Sawyer..... I totally didn't see that coming. http://www.danjacobwallace.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/sarcasm-detector-thumb1.jpg
  9. Not complaining about the setlist....but Touring with a string section and not playing "Losing It" = BIGGEST MISSED OPPORTUNITY EVER!
  10. Okay, so this is a mix of A Show of Hands and Clockwork Angels then.... okay, I can deal.
  11. QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ Sep 7 2012, 08:32 PM) They're probably gonna skip Halo Effect and go to 7CoG. Since we've heard absolutely nothing from the 70s or even anything from MP and PW, I'm almost positive there will be a third set plus an encore As much ass as this would kick, I say it no more than wishful thinking
  12. TRF has stronger servers than RIAB!! Their site has crashed.
  13. Well... the overall plot of CA doesen't have a muddled final act... though I havent read the book yet.
  14. and Geoff Downes played the part of a whiny bitch on twitter during the whole ceremony
  15. TFK are amazing... really impressed with the most recent album, much better than the Sum of no Evil.
  16. Prog Magazine has a pretty good readership....they did a list of the 50 greatest albums of all time a couple of years ago...while It did not match my personal lists, I cannot hate a populus that put SEbtP at no.1
  17. Nice Win, congrats boys Though, I don't know what the time scale was (looks like all the albums released a year previous to the time when the winners were announced Sept-Sept), though it didn't get a nom, Grace For Drowning was album of the year for that time span..IMO...more defining of the term "Prog"
  18. QUOTE (Sheldon Cooper @ Sep 5 2012, 12:34 PM) QUOTE (The Owl @ Sep 4 2012, 10:26 PM) Okay something is bothering me... and I feel a bit stupid.. I do like how in the live versions of JB songs how he will throw in a short riff from another song from another artist... well, I was re-listening to "Live from no where in particular" again yesterday and could not pin down the slow bluesy riff right at the end of that version of "If Heartaches were Nickels" (from 3:23-3:43)... recognize that riff, but I cannot think of what it is... Im gonna feel stupid once someone tells me, but for the life of me I can't think of what it is and it's annoying the hell out of me. I Want You/She's So Heavy from Abbey Road. Thank You....that was bothering the hell out of me.
  19. Okay...i thanks for that I now think if there were ever a film production of CA that Ben Linus should be the Anarchist....not Michael Emerson...but Ben Linus
  20. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Sep 4 2012, 12:27 PM) And FWIW, the two songs from this album that I think are destined to be undisputed classics in the future, meaning songs that would have to appear on any best of collection from their latter era (or any best of collection that encompasses all Rush eras), are Clockwork Angels and The Garden. Headlong Flight will probably make it as well, and maybe even Caravan, but those two for sure - CA and The Garden are legendary and epic. I can agree with this somewhat in the way I define a "classic"... A classic would be as Gary defined it "would appear on a best of collection" years down the road...... But I would also say a classic would be a track "destined to be a live staple" to where years after the initial release would constantly be in the setlists.(If Rush hypothetically were to still be touring 10 years from now)

The funny thing is, whenever you see people who try and recreate crop circles to show them as a hoax, they always look horribly clumsy compared to the actual crop circles. I can't imagine the kind of operation it would take for a bunch of hoaxers to make a design this intricate and beautiful and mathematically perfect in one night without waking the entire countryside. Gary, Google "Bower and Chorley" on a side note, that first episode kind of looks like Boba Fett
