  1. Ugh I don't like live albums by bands with only one studio album to their name. What will they have on the album, the whole debut album plus a couple of covers? Meh. From the setlists I saw, they filled out their setlists nicely... with no covers...technically.... They did a few tunes by band that the members involved were in.. so there was a DT song, a Dixie Dregs song, a Endochine song (who Casey McPherson sang with), and a Spock's Beard song...that with performing the whole album live fills out a good set I think.
  2. Was anyone a fan of the prog-metal band Sieges Even? They broke up a few years ago due to the always common "internal differences" but were a very good band... Their last two albums are the ones I am the most familiar and I suggest people give "The Art of Navigating by the Stars" and "Paramount" a spin if they've never heard of the band... A couple of years ago the vocalist and guitarist for Sieges Even reformed under a new name... That being "Subsignal" and their debut album "Beautiful and Monstrous" was released shortly thereafter.. I also recommend that album as well. And their most recent album "Touchstones" came out in 2011 (I still need to pick this one up) Truly great bands...
  3. The video was outstandingly beautiful.. I did not think he could top GFD... but I've limited myself to just "Luminol" and now the Title Track... nothing else.. Ive avoided other previews...but if the rest of the album is of this calibur, GFD might be topped.
  4. Defiantly will pick that up, hope they will have a special edition that includes the audio as well, for the old CD player.. On a side note... It's almost been 2 YEARS since aDToE was released.!!!
  5. Not really researching that too much, but it looks like you might have got one of the Ytse Jam releases... which was DT's line of "official" bootlegs and CD's.. They're meant to be really simple releases, and not a highly produced live releases like "Score" or "Budokan" EDIT TO ADD: Okay did some further research, it's not even a Ytse Jam release, looks like a fan bootleg you got there..or possibly a fan club release (but I am almost certain they have not released any FC item since way before the Octaviarim era, and cannot remember them doing FC dvds)...but most likely a Fan Boot... sorry if it was marketed to you like a DT official release..
  6. Score was the first thing I ever picked up by DT, it had just come out, and it was a month or so before Systematic Chaos was released... Great live album
  7. A Few Photos from the Amazing Show on Saturday.... Eric f***ing Johnson showed up during Willie the Pimp!!! http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/309785_2722565199624_1233004745_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/226182_2730892647805_2094303772_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/602878_2730893207819_1147822543_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/36516_2730893287821_130239028_n.jpg The Setlist http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/388763_2730893887836_2014817281_n.jpg They did "Muffin Man" during the Encore as well... AMAZING SHOW
  8. Seeing ZPZ tonight in Austin!!!!!!!!!
  9. Sherry was a waitress at the only joint in town...
  10. Looking forward to the new album, or the second half of last years album.... Lol Loved Ascention... But it was a bit short and felt incomplete.... Though I think that listening to both albums back to back is gonna be mandatory for these records
  11. New GoT season 3 teaser... still no new footage...but great nonetheless http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN7e_Oo0Bis
  12. Im intrigued by Oswin as well... at first I thought they were gonna pull another River Song with her... (The Doctor meets her at the end of her story line)...but this is very different. I also hope they don't pull a South Park "Kenny" type of thing as well and have her die in every episode.
  13. around....dont post as much, but still come to the site a couple times a day.
  14. I got a ticket for the Coheed/BtBaM show in Austin on March 1st for Christmas!!! Anyone else gonna be at that show?
  15. As much as I love PT, I have to say it seems that PT has become SW's side project.. and his solo career is now his "main gig". I don't think Porcupine Tree is over, nor do I think PT's future is in any jeopardy.. BUT Wilson seems more musically motivated by the stuff he's doing solo right now.... I personally don't mind too much, I am really digging his solo stuff..though I would love a new Porcupine Tree album.
  16. I really wish they'd quit running the whole "Doctor Who" (as a question) in the ground.. It was really cool at the end of the 6th season finale, and kind of got old when they kept doing it during the first half of season 7... but it got annoying on last night's special.
  17. It will be about Clockwork Angels!    It could be! Wilson is a big time RUSH fanatic! :haz: Haha! It wouldn't surprise me at all!! When will Steven Wilson produce a Rush record? He's probably licking his chops! He should have produced CWA, as much as I loved the album CWA sound like you're listening to it through a brick wall.... That would not happen with SW at the helm
  18. I know alot here did not like Benoit David, but I truly did not mind him, and thought he did the best he could... and I still recommend his other band "Mystery" to anyone... he was good, but not really there to step into Anderson's shoes.. From the little I've seen though I say Jon Davison is a major step up though... still not Anderson...but an improvement nonetheless....and I have to recommend his other band "Glass Hammer" as well.
  19. Martin Freeman is owning that role, I agree.
  20. SPOILER WARNING: FOR WHOLE THREAD Well, I just got back from seeing The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey, and I have to say I really enjoyed the film... Or should the film be titled "The Hobbit:AUJ+ LOTR appendices" ? If you are a Tolkienite there is alot to enjoy.. and the "+Appendicies " is welcome.... and on that. When the Hobbit was decided to be a trilogy I admit the idea kind of confused me, in how they were gonna make a novel not much longer than any one of the LOTR installments into three films of it's own.. I assumed they would be drawing from the LOTR appendices when it was just 2 films, but The Hobbit:AUJ draws heavily from that material as well, and is integrated nicely into the film... doing such does slow the pacing down a bit, especially early on, but it entertaining nonetheless.... That being said, I enjoyed that as someone who has read these novels several times and enjoy seeing the flashbacks of the Dwarf War, Rhadagast the Brown, and the takeover of Erebor...etc was great, but could be construed as flashbacks that slow the pace down to the general filmgoer.... but screw them, I say bring it on! One complaint I did have, and one that many have had is the overuse of CGI, whereas LOTR had mostly practical effects, especially with the Orcs/Goblins, were mostly real stuntmen in costume, The Hobbit is almost exclusively CGI... but for CGI it is top knotch though... Oh and the Riddles in the Dark scene........... PERFECT!
