  1. QUOTE (Cowtothesky @ Apr 12 2010, 03:32 PM) I didn't know they did this until last tour, and decided to go with a ticket broker instead, scoring 3rd row seats in front of Ged. Nice...which ticket broker?? (If you don't mind me asking.)
  2. I'll probably sound weird for saying it...but I'd be much more interested if David Gilmour was involved in this. From what I gather, he is not.
  3. QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 12 2010, 10:09 AM) I am willing to bet this will be in the ballpark of about $500 a seat . I hope i am wrong for those of you doing this but, i really do not see it being much less I'm sorry, but if that is the case, that's really ridiculous. I mean, look at the package: Shirt - $40 Tour Poster - $20 Tour Program - $20 Documentary - $30 Working Men CD - $15 Picks - I dunno what makes them 'official', but I got some with the R30 package So really, the Ticket is the big purchase. But I sat 10th row in London, Ontario back in 2007, and the ticket was only $80! So, in total...I am calculating maybe $125 worth of stuff with the ticket, which maybe should cost around $125 MAX. So, a $250 package being sold for double the price...that doesn't seem right to me. At least if there was some sort of 'Meet & Greet' involved, then I could maybe see why the price would be that high. Otherwise, I'm not sure this seems like a great deal, personally.
  4. QUOTE (ghostworks @ Apr 12 2010, 12:19 PM) http://images.jambase.com/fans/MountFunk/the_big_lebowski_jesus1.jpg "Eight-year-olds, Dude." - Walter
  5. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Apr 12 2010, 09:57 AM) Instead of a chicken coming out to baste the birds, they have guys with sacks of cash come out and refill the ATMs. Maybe they can also refill my wallet!
  6. I usually consider this one of my all-time favourite movies. Simply hillarious. John Goodman truly stands out in this movie, and his character as 'Walter' is absolutely brilliant. So many hillarious parts in this movie. The whole 'Jesus' character, the part when Walter jumps out of the car, and the Walter smashing the car in are all standout scenes. His parts with Donnie are great too. Makes me laugh everytime!
  7. QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 12 2010, 09:34 AM) I will say this, Kiss Tickets were cheaper than this Lucky you...they weren't for me. I spent around $175 for each ticket, and I wasn't anywhere near the stage. In fact, in a 5000 seat arena, I was sitting up on a balcony probably around 40 rows from the stage. But hey...it was my first ever KISS concert...so I felt it was worth it.
  8. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 12 2010, 08:56 AM) QUOTE (tangy @ Apr 12 2010, 09:52 AM) Time is money. Time Machine Tour. Good one! translate: Money Machine Tour! There ought to be a row of ATMs on Geddy's side of the stage. Or maybe a bank drive-thru window. ...and the Boys will only play the next song once 50 people swipe their cards in the machines.
  9. Would be awesome for sure...but likely won't happen. I think the setup would be too much...and as much as it would fit the whole "time machine" concept, I don't see Neil giving up his technology. But hey, if the whole 'time machine' concept is only used on the setlist, then that's good enough for me. I'll be happy!
  10. QUOTE (RushFanForever @ Apr 12 2010, 08:22 AM) Check this out here. Alex gets mad about the topic from 3:10 to 3:55. Always a great episode... "When somebody like Alex Lifeson tells you to put a shirt on, you put the f'n thing on!" I was at that ACC show too...I remember seeing Bubbles on the screen during the encore. Very cool.
  11. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 12 2010, 08:39 AM) QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 11 2010, 03:59 PM) They'll play all Dream Theater songs. Even when they do Moving Pictures, I hear they are going to cover Dream Theater covering Moving Pictures.
  12. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Apr 10 2010, 05:04 PM) Actually, when they said they are playing Moving Pictures in its entirety, I think they truly meant they will be playing Feedback in its entirety.
  13. Okay...I'll bite! Here Again Anthem The Fountain of Lamneth Something For Nothing Xanadu La Villa Strangiato Freewill Chemistry Afterimage Marathon Open Secrets Scars Neurotica Cut To The Chase Time and Motion Vapor Trail The Main Monkey Business Sounds like an F'n good setlist to me!
  14. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 12 2010, 08:29 AM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 12 2010, 09:21 AM) QUOTE (Some Half-Forgotten Stranger @ Apr 12 2010, 05:14 AM) I think I heard Geddy comment on the price of ticket issue once a few years ago and he mentioned it's the promoters who set ticket prices, if I'm not mistaken.....but I would figure the band has some say in the matter. I am disappointed with these prices as I paid in the area of 95 bucks for my 3rd row seat in '07. if you think it's bad now wait until inflation comes around. i might have to start listening to concerts from the parking lot. $95 for 3rd row sounds like the bargain of the century to me. . . FOR SURE...where the hell do I sign up??!
  15. QUOTE (mankad89 @ Apr 11 2010, 04:09 PM) Um...The Color of Right is one of Rush's most underrated songs. This song and album will never get the respect they deserve. Don't worry Dude...the album certainly gets my respect. I love TFE personally, and actually, from what I remember, so does metaldad. But seriously, there are WAY too many other encores that could top that. Plus, even though I can say that I'm a fan of all Rush songs, I wouldd still probably consider 'The Colour of Right' the weakest song on TFE with maybe 'Carve Away The Stone'. If you had to have an encore finish with tracks from both those albums, then how about Time & Motion / Earthshine, or Ceiling Unlimited / Test For Echo. Just sayin'...
  16. QUOTE (Lerxst @ Apr 11 2010, 06:29 PM) Are the good seats gobbled up during "PreSales" or do they limit the seats that are made available that way? Why even have these things? What's the point? You know...you would THINK that the best seats are out during these presales, but the fact is, just like Ticketmaster in general, they are a complete joke. Back in 2007, I heard about this presale on Q107 (local Toronto station), so I joined up on their group, and got the password for it. I was on Ticketmaster at EXACTLY the time the tickets were released, and they were giving me only 300 level seats (balcony) at the ACC in Toronto. I was there for awhile, and couldn't get anything better. During the regular public sale, I ended up getting around 19th row on the floor, which of course, was much better. This week, I was getting tickets for the NBA playoffs. Same deal, went on during the presale and could only get 4 tickets in the STANDING ROOM. This went on all day long...nothing but single seats. The next day during public sale, I was able to get 4 tickets together in the 300 level, which of course, is much better. Point is...you can try the presales, but don't necessarily think it's the best you'll get. I think they only put certain blocks of seats in the "presales"...and like everything else on Ticketmaster, you need to be aware of the fact that they will always try to screw the customer over.
  17. QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 11 2010, 08:01 AM) QUOTE (Earthshine @ Apr 11 2010, 02:42 AM) ENCORE: Colour Of Right One Little Victory I am sorry but this is the Worst encore Ever.........................
  18. QUOTE (theguyincygnusx1 @ Apr 9 2010, 04:20 PM) QUOTE (greg2112 @ Apr 9 2010, 03:34 PM) I'd love to see that show, not only bc its Toronto, but because its an indoor arena, which is far better than any shed. You'd be surprised. Shows at the Molson Amphitheatre are much better than shows at the ACC.
  19. QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ Apr 9 2010, 03:04 PM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Apr 9 2010, 03:20 PM) Honestly...and it pains me to say it, alot of the Toronto crowds don't do the band justice whatsoever. I live just outside Toronto, and have been to every Toronto show since 2002, and the crowds (in my opinion) are not nearly as good and responsive as they should be (you know..HOMETOWN!!!). On the R30 Tour, I was standing up for the first song, and right away got asked to sit by the couple behind me. I even offered to switch seats as they were the last row, and she refused! Unbelivable. To make matters worse...I saw some true fans trying to stand up for some of their favourite songs, and actually got GARBAGE thrown at them for them to sit down. I'm sorry...but that is ridiculous. People act like it's the damn opera or something. Don't get me wrong...you should come to T.O...as it is a beautiful city for sure! You know that the Boys will be on their A-Game...being hometown and all, so yes, it is worth it. I was just expressing some of the "bad" things I've seen with T.O. crowds in the past! I will be there for both Toronto shows hopefully! That's horrible! I've been to two Toronto shows. The first one was in at the ACC in 2007, and being a "true fan", I was standing and rockin' out to Workin' Them Angels. Got asked to sit down rather rudely by people behind me. I went in 2008 again, though, at the Molson Ampitheatre and the crowd was much better! Everyone was standing the whole time, just having a good time! Met lots of cool people! Oh...absolutely. I was at both of those shows as well. I just never understood the fascination of sitting at a rock concert. Maybe it's just me. But yeah...the experience depends on where you are sitting too. That 2007 ACC show, I had floor seats, and I stood the whole time without anyone complaining...and I had an absolute blast! I am still dreaming of a front row seat at a Rush show. Maybe someday!
  20. I picked TWO (2) as in BOTH TORONTO shows!!
  21. Hmmm...these are always tough, but I'll try: 1) LA VILLA STRANGIATO 2) XANADU 3) NATURAL SCIENCE 4) 2112 5) THE FOUNTAIN OF LAMNETH 6) THE NECROMANCER 7) HEMISPHERES 8) BY-TOR AND THE SNOWDOG 9) THE CAMERA EYE 10) CYGNUS X-1 All songs are awesome though...you almost feel stupid when you see a song like Cygnus X-1 at the bottom!!
  22. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 9 2010, 01:30 PM) Yknow, yes, Ive heard the MP songs a lot in concert. But.. I have no issue with this because MP is a f-cking masterpiece. To hear it all is awesome, and to hear TCE live will also be awesome. I cant wait. Yup...I still find it remarkable that there are still people trying to put a negative spin on this MP news. The album is a pure masterpiece. It's their most commercially successful album. It's probably 85-90% of Rush fans' favourite Rush album. The Camera Eye has been begged for on the last 3 tours. Then, the Boys were being cursed at for not playing it during those tours. How can any of this be negative? This is absolute stellar news IMO.

  24. QUOTE (quantumleap @ Apr 9 2010, 12:44 PM) If they're digging through the vault already... If they played Emotion Detector just once live, I would be able to die happy! (Provided I'm there at the time of course!) Wonder why it's never been played live - my favourite song of all-time. Yeah...ED would be unbelivable live. It certainly is more than just underrated. I always thought it would work really well as a second set song...you know, especially when the sun is almost down (provided you're in an outdoor venue of course). The intro starting up at that point would be incredible IMO. Just a fantastic tune...and not a bad TRF'er either!
  25. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Apr 9 2010, 12:43 PM) QUOTE (tick @ Apr 9 2010, 09:08 AM) QUOTE (Earthshine @ Apr 9 2010, 01:44 AM) Certainly not. I saw the Moving Pictures tour back in 1981. They did everything but Witch Hunt which I later saw them do. I don't get this. I really don't. Don't forget that not everyone is an old fart like us. Some members have never even seen Rush and the prospect of MP in its entirety is an amazing thought. But being someone who has seen Rush over 30 times, I can relate to your sentiment. You are right! When I said, "I don't get this. I really don't." I was not referring to those who think this may be the greatest tour ever. That's fine. What I meant was I don't get why they are doing Moving Pictures and this whole "Time Machine" thing. Honestly, I think it is just a marketing tool for them because the 2010 tour is not supporting a new album. Since this a "warm-up" tour of sorts for next year's tour, this is just their way of justifying the tour and why people should come out to see them. I think it makes sense...plus, the Boys have constantly said that they always feel the need to have a release to tour in support of (hence 'Feedback' in 2004). That's just my thought though...
