  1. Plus! You guys have NO idea if there are aliens. And for the SHEER number of planets in the universe you HAVE to admit that there is likely life out there! And there is SOME probability, from physics, that wormholes could exist. And you HAVE to admit that most aliens like drawing patterns crops - Who wouldn't??

Science Person: "Prove this supernatural thing!" Believer "See - I proved it!" Science Person "See it was science after all!" So, my point is that for a science person there can NEVER be supernatural anything because once it's proven, it falls under their realm of "Science". *YAWN* Science persons are typically called scientists. A "Science person" is someone who believes in science. I go to church, it doesn't make me a reverend or a priest. Are you saying that you do not believe in science? Nobody should believe in science. They should accept it's conclusions based on empirical evidence. Belief should be reserved for entities or phenomena for which there is no such evidence. Science is suspect if not complete nonsense. Spoken like a true believer. Shh...I'm tryin to take this whole science thing with logic and am having some difficulty. I just don't want to stare into the existential void of inevitable decay, failure and non-existance. At least not today. I would rather play make believe.

Observation has been proven to alter outcomes. Science is suspect if not complete nonsense. All kidding aside, you guys take all the fun out of my Mystic Rythms. That's my only complaint. You're boring.

  6. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 28 2012, 10:58 PM) http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=76451 I love the book so I'm about worried about the film (if you know what I mean) Sorry - searched for life pi and came up empty. I have learned to treat movies as seperate entities from the books and don't expect the same experience. A great example is The Shining with Jack Nicholson as well as the Harry Potter series. I don't look forward to saying "Its just as I imagined it from the book!" Thats OK for me. I must say I think this movie will FAIL for me if it is too much of an action movie.
  7. QUOTE (rushfanforever! @ Aug 28 2012, 12:51 AM) QUOTE (sitboaf @ Aug 27 2012, 10:22 PM) any Rush song would make me crawl back in bed, listen some more, and be late for work. Awaken to ? I'd be late for work every damn day..... I never thought of these ramifications! Now that I think of it my brother-in-law has his alarm set to a country station because he hates country!
  8. Not sure if the "tone" of the clip matches the book but sure looks exciting.
  9. Sweet! Too bad you head would explode - along with the rest of you.

  11. I am trying to think of the best way to set an alarm to play a random Rush song. I'm sure people under 25 will have 40 ways to do it...
  12. I think they are aliens favorite sports team logos.
  13. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Aug 27 2012, 05:08 PM) QUOTE (substancewithoutstyle @ Aug 27 2012, 04:40 PM) I thought this thread was going to be about Rush fans who were senior citizens. Me too. I was expecting to find people celebrating the fact that they now get a discount at Denny's. Same here

QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Aug 27 2012, 04:57 PM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 27 2012, 04:02 PM) QUOTE (My_Shrimp_Cot @ Aug 27 2012, 01:48 PM) Chariots of Fire One of my very favorite movies of all time. A great film. We agree Goobs! Ha! I think I was 16 when I tried to watch this movie. Perhaps my greatly matured mind will appreciate men running on the beach in slow motion with that music playing....How long is this movie again? Seriously, I may give it another look.
  15. The scene where the girl is getting thrown around on the dock and the workers are celebrating with champagne is a sick and twisted classic!

  17. I would like to say that I took this poll 7 years ago that I believe my demographic has matured at least once....
  18. What about Terra Nova? I kinda liked it..
  19. QUOTE (OGr8imL84AD8inF8sBlackSedan @ Aug 26 2012, 07:52 AM) QUOTE (My_Shrimp_Cot @ Aug 25 2012, 09:53 PM) The River I was really on the fence with that show. I saw every episode and there were parts I liked...but I don't know...How far could it have gone...I mean they found the the guy they were looking for....I kind of felt a lot of 'Lost' burn out watching The River, being a show you could spend a lot of time on, have tons of questions raised and still get no answers when it ends. Yeah - I supposed they burned it out in one season.. It would have to have gotten weider and less believeable. Cheers
  20. I'd say 3/4 for me. I like campy, smart horror movies like this one and Slither, but I can understand not liking them. This movie is a horror movie while at the same time makes fun of horror movies. If you don't get the satire, you won't like it. The ending was a little lame.
