Ged WAILS on the bass to start the disc and it is AWESOME from start to finish. I never listen to Victor, but never turn down any of Ged's solo work.

I was to be married on June 8th, 2012. January of 2012, when I returned home from one of my highest highs (US Army All-American game, which my kid was playing in) my fiance' (who was 10 years younger and a national level Figure Competitior... bodybuilder like in Oxygen Magazine) told me that she wanted to turn Pro/compete again and that a family would have to wait. I'm 40...when I met her she told me she was done with it (anyone who knows the biz knows they look "healthy' but are starving and living on chemicals to get down to @ 7% bodyfat for a female). its an unhealthy horrible life. I didn't want her to go through it again. Talk about a bolt from the blue!! I thought by now we would be starting a family, and instead I'm single and starting over. These lyrics are like a bolt straight to my heart. i get it, unfortunately. anyone who lives long enough will have an experience like this... its a messed up world my friends. we all gotta deal w/ it...

ok makes sense, thanks. Interesting.... a "chain" ...can help you, and a chain can hurt you..... wasn't sure if a "human chain" was a nautical term or something that I had never come across before!

"Salvation in the human chain" can someone help me understand these lyrics? thx
-
I love The Wreckers, but am I dense? Can someone tell me what "salvation in a human chain" is? thx

did not read 3 pages but my first thought after LOSING IT (pun intended) was wonder if PEART will incorporate strings into his DRUM SOLO ? (sorry if someone already posted) -
Anarchist, YES! drama era bassline IMO

When you look outward for that "missing part" and it becomes ALL-ENCOMPASING, it has basically "caged" you. You want something so badly that the search/drive for it becomes your entire life. Thats what I think...

Played again! must be the same for the duration of the contest...

For people who struggle with hearing "sound quality" maybe this will help them? I'm assuming you have seen HIGH DEF tv, and remember what tv used to look like ? Well, our ears can HEAR what your eyes SEE. OR... have you ever seen a well done 3D movie and you can see the DEPTH, etc. thats our ears. Just trying to help those who honestly don't understand WHY sound quality matters to us.... thanks

I am one who said I struggled w/ Geddy's vocal on this new one, BUT lets ALL hope that Alex stays away from the mic!

Chicago TV 12:40 pm background music for some band contest as they were going to commercial!

Does the concept of an "album" still matter?
third hand grace replied to Shreddy Lee's topic in Rush
OLD SCHOOL here. Agree w/ Goobs. What makes Rush (and similar bands) SPECIAL is that they create a work of ART. -
I have a cleaned up version of VT, and I think the muddiness of the Rush version is why so many dislike it. Strip away the NOISE and its an impressive body of work, IMO.

I love Rush, been my favorite band since I was NINE years old in 1981. 43 concerts under my belt well...just gonna say it... I do not understand why Geddy does so much with his (old) voice! Im REALLY struggling with the vocals on this one (CA). I've listened to every song about 7x. I just keep finding spots where I cringe. I'm no singer/musician, but to me it just seems like he's trying to do "too much" for lack of technical words. musically I like it, and conceptually I LOVE the idea. I need to step away for a few days...

I'm one of the Rick's. strange that its alpha by first name.

The answer is YES. Its depressing and hopeful, just like LIFE. Its a frickn rollercoaster of words and sound, just like this thing we were all dealt, life. Enjoy the UPS cuz there's gonna be some downs for sure. I agree 100% with you Goobs, and I gotta believe that the boys intended this as well...
