There is no comparison of any type where Priest comes out ahead of Maiden. They are thoroughly outclassed in every department. Vocally, instrumentally, live, studio, videos, mascot. No disrespect to Priest. Maiden is just better.

The Law and Order shows recycle actors like crazy. One chick played a hooker and eventually got the steady gig as the hot assistant DA.

Because they sucks? I understand they're one of the moSt successful bands ever, but for the life of me I can't understand why. They're one of those bands to me, along with the scorpions, the doors and nirvana that would've been great on a rock cruise. That got torpedoed.

This was a fun song to play bass on as well, but it's one that has become a victim of my arthritis. My left index and ring fingers have a slight, permanent bend at the last knuckle which makes me stumble on things like the bass solo. It also makes it impossible to play double-stops with one finger, which makes songs like Turn the Page nearly impossible as well.

I had an interesting flashback today as my radio scan landed on the oldies station. It was Leo Sayer's When I Need You, and instantly I was 8 years old playing Little League ball again. Dreams (Fleetwood Mac) riding in the car on the way to the house my uncle was building. Opening a triple pack of Topps baseball cards and getting Ed Figueroa of the Yankees. The Weapon-riding on the bus to a marching band competition in '85 on my Walkman Haircut 100- Boy Meets Girl. Driving to Norfolk VA. to drop my brother off at his aircraft carrier in '82. The Monkees Mr Webster- building a Monogram model Corvette around '81. Journey Still They Ride- building a B24 Liberator that I got at Woolworths right around the same time. Elton John Honky Cat- watching my brother play with his Tyco slot cars around '75 or '76. Any folks have anything to share of their own?

I read the book after the movie, and Clancy became my favorite author. I used to look forward to his books the way I looked forward to new Rush albums. I loved the Ryan storyline, but September 11 utterly blew it out of the water. He should've let it die at that point, but he got greedy and tried to incorporate it. Every book after Sept 11 sucked. I stopped reading after the one where his son shoots the bin Laden character.

According to RIARB, Rush is in the process of having the drum tracks on the entire catalogue re-recorded with Jeremy Taggert. They're planning a staggered September release with a tour to follow starting in October. Without Neil, but still touring as Rush. Management is currently in negotiations with Neil's attorneys to buy out his business interest in Rush. He is persona non grata in the "inner circle" and they want to be free and clear of him, with no financial obligations to him whatsoever.

Hire a new drummer, have him re-record Neil's parts to the entire catalogue and re-release it, erasing all mention and pics of the old grouch. Then record a new album as Rush and hit the road.

The ones I had the most fun learning after I transcribed them were Hemispheres, Natural Science and Anthem. But there are a lot to choose from.
