I believe PM&S was the one who initially pitched the idea, so blame him!

We tried to keep it as democratic as possible, even when it hurt to do so!

So...when's the next one coming out? :D It's all recorded and mixed/mastered. The tentative goal is sometime in November, I think, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it came out before then...perhaps even well before then. ;)

As much as you like the back half of the album more than the front half, rest assured someone else will like the front half more than the back half! That said, I think Lorraine shares your assessment. :)

Spinner's End was somewhere in the middle of the pack for me as far as faves go, but when we got it back from our mixing/mastering guy, it shot up to near the top. It's amazing what a good mix can do for a song to really make it stand out.

What do you think of the lead tone on The Most Dangerous Game? If I remember right, that's the only song where I use a single amp/cabinet for the lead...most of the leads use two different amps, but the tone I was getting from the V3M on its own seemed like a really good fit for the lead in the song.

Stylistically, it's not my thing, but your son has a monster sense of rhythm. He's a very tight player.

It's a great song, right up my alley. I love power-pop.

Ah, simple schmimple. I maintain that it's harder to write a simple song with a catchy vocal melody than it is to write some complicated prog instrumental that doesn't have to abide by too many rules. I very much agree with this.

I think it may be from the bonus features section on RiR. It most certainly is! That's what I thought, too, but what about Peart's t-shirt?

I wouldn't classify Rush has heavy metal. But they have rocked really hard at times.

He asked for our opinions. It's reasonable, sane even, to expect that opinions given at a Rush fan site are going to be heavily biased.
