  1. There touring as much because they feel and are performing at a quality level still, and aware age will rapidly becoming a factor to stop in the near future. I don't care how much they have toured as long as Rush can play beyond exceptional like they have been... I'm happy!!!
  2. Would this fit in with the Trekkie Spock ears nerd vibe?
  3. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 21 2012, 09:14 PM) David Gilmour performed with a small orchestra last tour Gilmour's Pink Floyd tours might as well been called the Pink Floyd orchestra. What did they have about twelve members in back up band along with trio of female chorus singers.
  4. QUOTE (2112rush @ May 21 2012, 05:41 PM) It would be alright to have a small string section for songs that required it such as 'Losing It' and some songs on CA, but apart from that, I would not like to see an orchestra or a string section. What's wrong with just having Ben Mink and his electronic violin covering the string(s) needed?
  5. I didn't find it overly negative or reviewer saying it was"mediocre". Generalized and vague not really listening or paying attention to what he was hearing/reviewing ..
  6. You sure don't get any info from the "official" VH site. Lame site that it is.. All I see on there is video song clips and interviews.???
  7. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 1 2012, 04:45 PM) There really hasn't been an outlet on the radio for new Rush music in the last 20 years...that's part of the problem Your right about this, but it's hard to figure out why? Why some established older bands (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Ozzy and of course Metallica) get the green light for anything new that comes out for radio play. While Rush gets ignored, is it the general rock radio listening audience has become moronic and enjoy redundant status quo bands cause that what there use to hearing? Or is it that corporate radio dj's are scared to think outside the box and afraid they will get axed if they play something creative and different =
  8. QUOTE (GangsterOnBoats @ May 16 2012, 09:04 AM) While I think that since SnA there have been many more fans showing up at concerts, I doubt the album will sell too much more than their previous ones. I think most of the hype is within the Rush and prog community and that's about it, although I hate to say so! There's plenty of people out there not even aware that Rush still make new music. That's sad and true also...
  9. QUOTE (Snaked @ May 15 2012, 12:01 PM) QUOTE (softfilter @ May 15 2012, 12:42 PM) I noticed on Q site that upper bowl seats not listed, Is it because there no longer available or there just selling lower tier & floor seats first. Expand to upper tier depending how tickets sell? They'll open up the uppers if they're needed. The only reason Cleveland sold out last year was because they announced they were filming the concert. The previous couple times at the Q wern't all that impressive crowd wise. I was thinking that was the case, it's early yet have to wait and see. Yeah, Vapor Trails crowd( I had floor seats) lower bowl was sold out only. However going back to 1996 T4E tour at the Gund / Q (floor seats that one also) very few empty seats upper and lower. And before that CounterParts (nosebleed this tour) close to sellout..... * R30- S&A both Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls, 9/10,000 plus comparable and on the high end other outdoor venues for these tours.*
  10. I noticed on Q site that upper bowl seats not listed, Is it because there no longer available or there just selling lower tier & floor seats first. Expand to upper tier depending how tickets sell?
  11. Local talk radio station (WHBC am) was giving Rush tickets away all last week if you could guess what three concerts the host went to last year And rock station WRQK was just giving them away if you were the right caller.(strange since they don't even play Rush) Worried these ticket give aways a sign they don't think there going to sell out the "Q" this tour? Way to early to panic, But I don't remember any radio give aways last year for Time Machine. Vapor Trails at the Gund/Q weeks on end all the way up to two hours before the show stations were dumping Rush tix. Oh and thought of another pre sale at least in years past WNCX in Cleveland usually had a station insiders code for getting tickets early before general sale.
  12. QUOTE (tripdad @ May 10 2012, 07:43 PM) They suck after that can't see anything everyone standing, which your suppose to do on floor.. But not happy staring at someones back the whole concert.. [/quote] Or... if you are capable, you can stand everywhere in the arena! Make no mistake, I'm standing and getting crazy most of the show until the band takes there mid show break. But the floor seats in the back rows can be difficult to get a decent view of the stage, that's just the way it is. Like where I'm at this tour lower sec 100 perfect!
  13. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 11 2012, 06:57 AM) QUOTE (lifeson90 @ May 11 2012, 06:50 AM) QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ May 11 2012, 06:42 AM) QUOTE (lifeson90 @ May 11 2012, 06:11 AM) any more of these reviews and i'll know the album so well i wont bother buying the cd, honestly i never known anything like this in all my years.... the wait and build-up for this album has been ridiculous and un freakin necessary We've just become spoiled with leaked albums. Used to be you'd sit around and hear nothing until a single...and then album came out. I like reading the reviews. Gets me excited. point taken but the wait is still frustrating to say the least after just about three years of it Imagine where we would be withou the reviews, or Forums, or Youtube or the internet! We would be depending on..... RADIO! Probably be burned out on "Headlong Flight" by now, becuase tey play it eveyday followed by in a very deep voice: "Alright! That's new RUSH there! The song is "Headlong Flighht" the album is "Clockwork Angels" comes out on June 12th. I can wait for this one, how about you Johnny?" Radio playing new RUSH on a heavy rotation?? I guess that truly is looking at the future from the past!!
  14. QUOTE (lsoblo @ May 7 2012, 12:45 PM) I haven't gotten any of the newsletter emails for this tour but I did get them for the Time Machine tour. I don't know what the problem is. Also, it seems as though there aren't any floor seats left for the fan pre sale. I didn't see anything very good even when seats were coming up. (all around row R or so) Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with that. I see they now have presale open on "Q" site for Amex users only??? I'm not to thrilled about floor seats unless there in the first five rows. They suck after that can't see anything everyone standing, which your suppose to do on floor.. But not happy staring at someones back the whole concert.. Oh I see they corrected general sales date as Saturday May 12th, they did have it Saturday May 9th...
  15. Well they have ticket prices up and general sales date listed Saturday? May 9th at 10am. 9th is Wednesday!!! UPDATE.. Just scored my tix on "Official" Rush site, fanclub presale.. Pissed no email sent from fanclub (they did first and 2nd round of presale)
  16. QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Apr 28 2012, 11:22 PM) Now that I am thinking about it... In 2007, I was sixth row. This really nice dressed woman and man sat down next to me. The woman was in a really nice like formal dress and the man was in a suit. The woman explained to me that they had just gotten tickets that night. And I was like wow really you got sixth row tickets like an hour before the concert? Damn. They seemed to be relatively oblivious to who Rush was. I feel like they may have regretted their seating choices as I screamed and sung the whole night away. Sounds like the senior couple that sat next to us at R30, Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. They to were dressed like they were going to a opera! (See my out of place story above..)
  17. Well, I do remember seeing the R30 tour at Blossom music center and this elder "upper class" looking couple sitting next to me and my wife. With a tight lip lack of expression or any signs of emotion staring straight ahead at the stage the whole concert giving and occasional light applause when they approved. As everyone around them were going crazy! Thought about it, why were they here??? Then realized they probably had a Blossom event package, which is a monthly thing that covers all Blossom concerts (Cleveland Orchestra, musicals, etc..) Guess they wanted to get there money's worth no matter how much of a ordeal it was for them!!
  18. Probably would, always seek "different" and you could put HF next to most of the bland all the same sounding trend garbage being played on rock radio today , and Flight stands above it all.... But I would have no idea what the hell the lyrics are about without any background on the story...
  19. I purchased this yesterday. The question i have reading the itunes summary of HF & the rest of the album , means you have to purchased the complete album as the individual songs are released? The way it is explained that appears to be the case. Bit unfair, didn't have to do it when Caravan and BU2B were released as singles. Of course i might be wrong but i do see the rest of CA on I tunes is album only. And yeah you know I'm going to buy it but i want to choose what media for my copy. CD will be my first choice to go with my collection.
  20. What's even sadder The Voice & American Idol trash is considered actual "news" item on local news coverage. Many times the leading headline story would be the latest happenings on these awful programs.... What is our society coming to when this sh*t is considered important enough to be REAL news??????
  21. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Apr 22 2012, 07:46 PM) Someone mentioned on Page One that the amount he paid for VIP was $350. Is that for one ticket or two? I was debating about doing the VIP package, but $350 for a single ticket is a ripoff no matter how close your seats. Yeah,GR I was thinking the same thing, believe it's for one ticket. That is way to steep... Might just wait for official general sale day take my chances.
  22. Trying to plot my course for the Cleveland Q show, pre sale arrangements. This VIP with Live Nation/Ticketmaster or the confusing part the Q insiders pre sale.. Quicken Loans arena is it's own ticket agent for events there not TM... But i guess you would be able to purchase this Live Nation/Ticket Master VIP package for Cleveland show???
  23. QUOTE (druid13 @ Apr 20 2012, 08:52 AM) any edit is a bad edit.... it cracks me up radio stations who play the full length version of friggin nonsense like Freebird would play an edited version of Headlong Flight. Play what the artist intended...hell they don't even have live DJs anymore. Our local rock station WRQK should change it's call letters to AC/DC fm that's all they ever play with Ozzy thrown in to show they play variety...
  24. QUOTE (laughedatbytime @ Mar 21 2012, 08:57 PM) QUOTE (Bonghitsforjesus @ Mar 21 2012, 07:50 PM) I've never liked Slash that much, but my esteem grows. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/slash-confirms-at...-202828045.html You know what would be really cool? If, given their allotted time to perform, they launch into an impromptu medley of Rush songs (or songs from all the groups who should be in a real RRHOF but aren't), glaring at Jann Wenner and Dave Marsh the whole time. The ultimate dig... I wonder why Metallica didn't think of that?? I bet the powers that be, would try to disrupt the jam REAL QUICK!!
