  1. Empire of the Sun - Watch it ever two years to make sure I still possess the ability to shed tears -
  2. When Denzel acts in a movie, I'm watching Denzel act, I enjoy it but it's always Denzel. Same with Hanks and Neeson. Their acting styles change very little from one film to another. However, when I watch DDL act in a movie I am witnessing an amazing character brought to life as he did with Daniel Plainview and Lincoln. He embodied Lincoln, no one comes close to his talent. The fact that he's only made a few movies doesn't change my mind a bit. I actually get tired of the big actors pumping out two movies a year.
  3. $$$ $$$ ? They are losing millions of subscribers and their TV ratings are plummeting you would think they would try a new approach instead of plastering 10 Tiger stories a day on their PGA link. People only care about what is relevant and he's not anymore.
  4. Wow, ESPN's bro-mance with Tiger continues. If you go to their golf site ( http://www.espn.com/golf/ ) you'd swear Tiger was holding a 15 shot lead going into the weekend instead of missing the cut. As you scroll down the main page he has at least 20 video stories and articles compared to only one each for the real contenders .
  5. I don't have a dog in this hunt nor do I dislike Roger Goodell but I think it would be fun to see Roger having to hand the Lombardi Trophy over to Tom Brady. I still think of Joe Montana (from Pittsburgh area!) as one of the best quarterbacks so I'm not quite ready for the "Tom Brady, greatest quarterback ever" title. Yet. I guess we'll see after the Super Bowl ! Brady now holds nearly every major Super Bowl passing record in addition to the record for most Super Bowl appearances by a quarterback. More importantly, Brady is also tied with Joe Montana, the quarterback many consider to be the best to ever play the game, for most Super Bowl wins and most Super Bowl MVP awards. Tommy holds a postseason record of 24-9. Eight more wins than second place on the list Joe Montana. Most touchdown passes in the playoffs. Tom Brady has led his Patriots to 14 career AFC East division titles. The most by any single QB.
  6. Now I understand why the refs missed all those blatant holding calls the Cowboy's secondary got away with :sarcastic: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j199/bauhaus92/screen-shot-2017-01-15-at-9-41-06-pm.vadapt.767.high.0_zpsf98jhceq.png
  7. There is a lot of talk from city officials concerning the potential action below: bringing charges against the Chargers and NFL for breaking anti-trust laws To: Jan Goldsmith, San Diego City Attorney From: Citizens of the City and County of San Diego We appreciate the work The Mayor, City Council, Board of Supervisors and yourself have done over the last several months to produce the foundation of a financially viable plan to construct a new stadium. We believe that these activities as well as the activities of the Citizens Stadium Advisory Group have been carried out in good faith. We all recognize that the San Diego Chargers are an integral part of our community. While the Chargers provide entertainment and civic pride, they also generate significant revenue streams to the City and County of San Diego. Local jobs, restaurants, and the tourism industry will be significantly impacted by the Chargers departure outside of San Diego County. NFL's policy and procedures for proposed franchise relocations Article 8.5 of the NFL Constitution and Section 4.3 clearly state a team must have “diligently engaged in good faith efforts” to “obtain and to maintain suitable stadium facilities in their home territories” in order to qualify for relocation. We believe the NFL League and its club member, the San Diego Chargers have failed to negotiate in good faith. At every turn in the negotiations, top NFL executives, including Eric Grubman, and representatives of the San Diego Chargers, including Mark Fabiani, continue to reject every legitimate effort to keep the Chargers in San Diego. At the same time, the San Diego Chargers have been working secretly and aggressively on stadium plans in The City of Carson, Los Angeles County. This has been done under the close watch of the NFL League committee specifically set up to ensure that Los Angeles has an NFL team soon and has been and continues to be discussed at NFL meetings of the owners. Land has been purchased in the City of Carson, a signature drive for a finance plan stadium proposal is underway, and the recent hiring of NFL executive Carmen Policy as a consultant for a new stadium, all show that an orchestrated scheme led by the NFL is in the works for the Chargers to move to Los Angeles. This conduct, unless stopped, will continue with the loss the Chargers and no replacement NFL team in San Diego. We, the citizens of San Diego respectfully demand that an antitrust lawsuit be filed immediately against the NFL and the Chargers to protect the rights of San Diego citizens. The NFL is a group of 32 owners that have agreed unlawfully to boycott San Diego. The clear anticompetitive purpose of this illegal effort is simple – to line the pockets of the NFL and the Chargers with even more money. The NFL’s greed has resulted in a long history of the League violating the antitrust laws, including in their efforts to artificially control the location of teams. The City of San Diego is entitled to compete on a level playing field to keep the Chargers here. As a result, we urge the City of San Diego to retain a law firm to prosecute an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL and the Chargers to stop their illegal campaign to rob the City of San Diego of a team. Jim Quinn of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP has a long history of standing up to the NFL and professional sports leagues when, as here, they have operated as an unlawful cartel. We respectfully make this request on behalf of the citizens of the City of San Diego.
  8. Agreed, here. More cities need to tell these owners where to stick it, and stop screwing their taxpayers. Sports writer Jim Gray was on Fox News this morning and basically did a hit- piece on Mayor Faulkner. He actually said Mayor Faulkner should be "shot' and then proceeded with his biased bashing as to why he feels this way, placing absolutely no blame on the Chargers. It is obvious as a Los Angeles writer he is licking Spanos nads before he even moves to LA.
  9. Whether the move was right or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is the cowardly way Spanos revealed the move. He didn't even have the guts to publicly tell San Diego thank you for tripling my wealth the past 20 years instead he pastes a frickin letter on a tweet. For two years he and his worm Fabiano have been lying and plotting his move while the city tried everything to keep them. Kudos for San Diego's mayor not giving in to this jackass. I hope for nothing but failure for him.

  11. Frustrating night. :| Jets 2 Hawks 0 Dagger provided by Byfuglien. Jets 3 Hawks 0 11 seconds later... Jets 4 Hawks 0 Kinda sound like the same mental flu the Habs suffered from against CBJ :P With six goals short, this was more like a runny nose. :P

  13. Can't blame Keith for taking that penalty. :sigh: Hawks 1 Canadiens 1 The glove didn't work for Crawford that time. :| Canadiens 2 Hawks 1 H :codger: O :codger: S :codger: S :codger: A Hawks 2 Canadiens 2 K A N E Hawks 3 Canadiens 2 Final. 11-3-2  Well at least it wasn't a 10-0 a** Whooping That Kane winner was unbelievable. I thought it was going to be challenged, because the puck hit the netting about a minute earlier, but I guess when the defending team manages to clear the zone, we keep playing. I don't agree with the rule, but it served us just fine. I have no problem Habs losing a close game like this.

I'm hoping that can turn out to be a factor. Would like to see Anisimov back in the line-up. Playing against Shaw is going to be a blast. Yeah Habs will probably get blanked 10-0 again. If Price doesn't start it's over, they're taking the night off. ;)

  18. Beer Week here in San Diego. All 150 plus breweries in our county put on a show like no other. Every night breweries take over most of the bars and tap rooms in the city to show off their new creations. Last night we were at the IB pub House. Belching Beaver had 15 of their best including this one below. Belching Beaver Bourbon Barrel Aged Damned - Double IPA 12% Simply amazing, it is made with 80 % mosaic hops.. No alcohol taste at all one of these hit me in less than 10 minutes. Right behind it was a Passion Fruit / Watermelon IPA on cask. A 7.3 that drank like a Saison 4.5 smooth as fruit juice. Below is the bottle the Pub is going to open on their one year anniversary and share with us in December. They have two of them. Nothing like St. Bernardus ABT. 12 http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j199/bauhaus92/IMG_8439_zps6tmgzaya.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j199/bauhaus92/image1_zpsvnx2nqth.jpg

  22. Habs 9-0-1 Ssshhhhhh PK Who?????
  23. Shhhhh Don't tell the Habs but they are 8-0-1. If they find out they might collapse and miss the playoffs again.
  24. Samsung's Note 7 is a complete failure: http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/10/13225038/samsung-note-7-what-is-even-happening
  25. Raiders 34-31 over Chargers. It's almost obvious the Bolts don't want anyone to vote yes on the stadium. Spanos has pretty much instructed them to self destruct on purpose. No team can be this unlucky, it has to be purposeful.
