  4. QUOTE (anagramking @ Sep 3 2007, 09:44 PM) QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Sep 2 2007, 08:29 PM) C'mon, if its Kevin Costner you want to go after, there's much better fare: Dances With Boredom.. I mean Wolves, and... cmon... WATERWORLD! (I have friends that liked that one actually). His movie Revenge was the worst one I saw, as I mentioned earlier. I enjoyed both Field of Dreams and Dances With Wolves, by the way. Just me, I guess. Tin Cup was another movie of his that I enjoyed. I never saw Waterworld (as fate would have it, I never ran across it on cable), and I would also say that No Way Out was another lame movie that Costner did. With Costner there is no middle ground. He is either terribly bad or he comes off very natural - Robinhood - Horrible / couldn't even pretend to use an english accent - American Flyers - one of his first movies, should have ended his career but somehow he snuck that one by - Waterworld - Just plain bad Very Good: 13 days - Very Believable Untouchables - Dances with wolves - Forget it's kevin Costner Tin Cup -
  5. QUOTE (Disco @ Aug 23 2007, 01:30 AM) QUOTE (alphseeker @ Aug 23 2007, 07:49 AM) QUOTE (KenJennings @ Aug 23 2007, 12:46 AM) QUOTE (alphseeker @ Aug 22 2007, 05:46 PM) I am embarrased to say that until last month i knew very little of Dream Theater and even less of John Petrucci. I used to wonder, "why is Seth Green doing on an ad for Mesa Amps, did he start his own band?" That is until i watched Dream Theater's cover of Caress of Steel - I am now very interested in their music and am beginning to build a collection - All i can say is what took me so long? Where did you hear them cover Caress of Steel!?!?! http://youtube.com/watch?v=gI04qsXJgh0 Sorry it was just the necromancer - Wow!!! That's just fantastic !!! Thanks for th clip, awesome cover... Disco I've only downloaded a couple of their songs - What album do you suggest i get first?

  10. Our families favorite sitcom - Red reminds me of my father when i grew up in the 70's - there is so much stuff i can relate to in this show while at the same time my 22 years old son relates to it also - The "Circle" was probably the best sitcom idea ever - "Ain't raising no flipper granchildren" - Red
  11. dang it i forgot all about it - this was one i told myself i didn't want to miss and i have a dvr -
  12. QUOTE (Geds @ Aug 6 2007, 01:54 PM) The problem with the movie, I SUSPECT, since i haven't seen it yet, is the author of the book. I read The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy by Robert Ludlum, and althought the books were far better than the movies, the movies were exceptional...most movies based on books are horrendous. Granted, there were several deviations from the books in BOTH movies, and that is to be expected. However, The Bourne Ultimatum wasn't written by Ludlum....it was written by some jackleg who thought he could write like Ludlum....and was terribly mistaken. Because the story line had SO MANY inconsistencies in it, I actually put it down and couldmn't finish it...which is rare for me. I may catch this movie on DVD in the future, but I am not looking forward to it because the book was so rotten. Thanks for the history - that explains the sucky movie - It's as if the author just took bits and pieces froim the past two books - I give the movie a C+
  13. QUOTE (goose @ Aug 4 2007, 06:23 PM) Just saw this last night and...well, I wasn't impressed. I was really irritated by the cinematography. The jumpy camera thing was annoying, and really took away from the film. My friends agreed. We'd look over at each other with a big . I liked parts of the movie, though. Tangier was good. Overall, it didn't measure up to expectations. I agree - it was a big let down - the same close up direction that i hate, like looking at someones face through someone elses underarm just drives me crazy - not much thought went into this one- it was like number two rehashed all over again - Number 1 (Bourne Identity) was still the best -
  14. NO, my favorite is not on the list!!!!!!!!!!! Equilibrium - Christian Bale as the Grammaton Gun Kata Cleric: Preston arrives for his audience with Father

  22. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Jun 30 2007, 09:14 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adWsiP3mwjk Part 1, with others nearby. If you have time for a GREAT 70s detective show, give it a watch.... My favorite is "Stitch in Time" with Leonard Nimoy - And the one with Ruth Gordon -
  23. I liked it alot - Chris Cooper is a very underrated actor - I've liked his acting in every movie he's been in - The only thing that didn't stand out in this movie for me was the acting of Ryan Phillippe, seemed a little bland for me - The script was excellent -
  24. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Jun 19 2007, 12:05 PM) On a whim, I bought the DVD and finally had a chance to watch it yesterday. It was excellent, much better than Flags of Our Fathers (which was also good). I can see now why it garnered a best picture nomination from the Academy. Anyone else see this? Yes, and it was better - Talk about despair and hopelessness - Amazing they held out as long as they did - Story of the young man who owned the bakery was great -
