  1. I'd love to hear Ceiling Unlimited, The Stars Look Down, Vapor Trail, and Freeze. But most of all would be Nocturne. Just a totally powerful song.
  2. 1. Natural Science 2. Hemispheres 3. Cygnus X-1 4. Xanadu 5. La Villa Strangiato 6. Jacob's Ladder 7. The Camera Eye 8. By-Tor and the Snow Dog 9. 2112 10. The Fountain of Lamneth 11. The Necromancer
  3. Both of these albums are excellent, but I'm going with The Snow Goose.

So psyched. I owe it to Natch for questioning if tickets were still on sale. Thanks again sir. Right on! Natch, how long did it take for your ticket to arrive in the mail? I bought the tickets the day they went on sale. I'd say I probably got them in the mail about 2 weeks later or so. I've never had a problem with Ticketmaster. The tickets always arrive well in advance of the show. If you used ticketmaster, I'm sure you'll be fine. I see, very nice. I did use Ticketmaster & I agree, they're usually not that bad.
  5. QUOTE (PuppetKing2112 @ Apr 26 2010, 08:34 PM) I'm more upset about Floydfanatic being banned. He was always right about everything he said, no doubt.

  8. QUOTE (Natch @ Apr 23 2010, 08:43 AM) QUOTE (Rush! @ Apr 22 2010, 09:05 PM) I really regret not getting tickets to see PT. I don't know why I didn't, they played at Radio City, am I correct? They haven't played Radio City yet! They play on September 24th. You might still be able to get tickets. Maybe someone here at TRF might have an extra ticket. Anyone??? I'm on the PT site now and it looks like tickets are still available for the show. I may try to get tickets... Hopefully get some semi-decent seats... Thanks Natch. Are you going to that show?
  9. QUOTE (Pags @ Apr 23 2010, 08:23 AM) QUOTE (Rush! @ Apr 22 2010, 10:10 PM) Around 3:50 in Marathon (studio) during the guitar solo a piano appears and plays some notes here and there. They also seem to bounce between the left & right channels due to panning at certain times. Pretty cool effect. Rush! Good to see you bud. Hopefully I'll run into you at PNC, I missed you last year (I was delayed in talking to a friend of mine after the show, and found out afterward that you had found the TRF clan). Anyway, I hear 'something' but it doesn't sound like a piano. It almost sounds like an echo or reverb on Alex's guitar. But I can't be sure. So much is going on it's hard to tell. But I hear 'something', that repeats the same note three times at 3:49, 3:50, and 3:51. It's really cool, and certainly something I've never noticed before. Is that what you're hearing? Hey Pag, yeah I remember asking where you were and someone told me you were talking to a friend. No big deal though, we'll probably be able to meet up this year. And actually that isn't what I'm referring to, I made a mistake... The sounds I'm hearing don't start till 3:53, and it stops @ about 4:14. You can hear it kind of bounce around... I definitely think it's a piano, or a piano from a synth... Edit: The piano appears precisely @ 3:53 in the left channel. Sounds like it has a small delay on it too. And it goes on till 4:14 or so...

  12. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Apr 22 2010, 03:11 PM) Even though I'm a virgin, I feel like My Bloody Valentine's Loveless would be the greatest album to lose your virginity to. It just sounds so "sexy" to me. I agree with this. Also many ambient/electronic albums would probably do the trick. Eno's ambient albums, Emeralds, Natural Snow Buildings, etc.
  13. QUOTE (theworkingman @ Apr 16 2010, 02:07 AM) http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q6/kotorimag/coachella2010.jpg We have arrived and tomorrow the party begins. Completely sold out (80,000 people each day) and we're ready. It. Is. On. I am jealous of this. I'd go just to see Public Image Ltd., Grizzly Bear and Echo & The Bunnymen. Oh yeah, I'm seeing Rush on the 3rd of September at PNC.
  14. MP being performed in full is such an awesome thing to read. I'm totally psyched for finally hearing The Camera Eye live for the first time. Definitely getting tickets for the PNC show in September.
  15. Today it is "Paper Thin Walls" by Modest Mouse.
  16. So what are everyone's favorite Zappa records? If I had to do a top 5, it'd consist of: 1. Hot Rats 2. Overnite Sensation 3. Lumpy Gravy 4. Waka/Jawaka 5. Weasels Ripped My Flesh I'm kind of partial to the first incarnation of the Mothers of Invention from '66-'69. Most live material from that time period is excellent as well. Also agree with Your_Lion about the Baby Snakes DVD. Zappa's band for those shows were on fire and such fantastic musicians. I also saw ZPZ last summer in Asbury Park... what a phenomenal show. The musicians were just as skilled as the members from the original bands.
  17. Huge Zappa nut here. I pretty much enjoy everything I've heard from him so far. I recommend starting at the beginning with Zappa, and just start with Freak Out!.
  18. The hip-hop artist Busdriver has one of the zaniest, most unorthodox voices ever. He is unbelievably quick with MC'ing:
  19. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 7 2010, 09:12 AM) Another Green World just might be my favorite album of all-time. That album and Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy constantly compete for my #1 favorite of Eno's solo records.
  20. I saw this on opening night. It is phenomenal, in my opinion. If you enjoy suspense/thriller movies, then you shouldn't miss this one.
  21. I really need to see these guys live. Also, "Waiting Phase One" is probably my favorite song from all of their 90s albums. It's also one of the best songs SW's ever written.
  22. Miles Davis is the man. For me one of the best albums of his is In a Silent Way. Also Agharta and Pangaea contain outstanding live playing by his fantasic band.
  23. Good Lord Hatchet, what a collection! I agree with TG.
