  1. Gee, Ken, tell us how you really feel.
  2. Where are they gonna find a left-handed guitar player who looks like Jimi? The shots of him playing should look as accurate as possible.
  3. Hm. I was just thinking the other day that a movie about Hendrix would be good. And I've recently been thinking of checking out his biography, "'Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky." Tarantino seems like a strange choice of director, though.
  4. I think Goober's comment about "theaters these days" is accurate. To wit: The latest Harry Potter film was VERY long, but theaters weren't offering an intermission.
  5. When I hear these songs on the radio, I always think of the movie: The Police's "Roxanne," as sung by Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours. Tom Petty's "American Girl," sung by the Senator's daughter - moments before she's abducted - in Silence of the Lambs. Led Zep's "Kashmir," played on Ratner's date in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. (Damone had told Ratner to play LED ZEPPELIN 4, which doesn't contain "Kashmir"!)
  6. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1716/2672/1600/seder%202006%20003.jpg Here's a picture of my 3.5 year-old, Iris. It was taken from the passenger seat last week, during a long car trip. (And man, she LOVES that stuffed elephant!) I'll have to find a pic of my 5-month old boy, Cameron.
  7. I remember watching Gandhi in the theatre, and it had an intermission. Other long ones I've seen: Casino JFK Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Director's Cut) Dances With Wolves
  8. Here's a few: DeNiro in "Awakenings" Tom Hulce in "Dominick and Eugene" Leonardo DiCaprio in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"
  9. Logan's Run for me. That Jenny Agutter was scrumptious! Never heard of Equilibrium.
  10. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Apr 18 2006, 07:41 AM) She found that out at Lucy Winter's birthday party. Poor Peter! Margie Whipple, an ugly girl with a crush on him, also attended the party. I forget the name of the young actress who played Lucy, but she was all over movies and television in the 70s. She was one of those "Afterschool Special" kind of actresses.
  11. Oh yeah. There was no WAY I was going to watch that cooking show. And their idea of "stars" is pretty lame, too. Who's chomping at the bit to see Tom Arnold make a better dish than Miss America?
  12. Isn't it normally on Monday nights? How come it wasn't on last night? Is it because of that lame Alan Thicke "cooking with the stars" show?
  13. Dawn Wells, who played MaryAnn, recieved far more fan mail than the other stars of the show, including Tina Louise (Ginger). And I think she was a former beauty pageant winner of some kind, too.
  14. You asked for "more attractive," so I voted for Maureen McCormick (Marcia). But Jan's closer to me, personality-wise.
  15. Exactly alike: the opening guitar thing from Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance" and the opening guitar thing from the Jayhawks' "Blue" The Jayhawks were first; Petty came later. And how about: "Heartbreaker" by Led Zeppelin and "What You're Doing" by Rush
  16. QUOTE (softfilter @ Mar 31 2006, 12:43 PM) The Buddy Holly Story. Only thing weirdo Gary Busey done worth watching! I dunno. To go off-topic for a minute, how about Stephen King's "Silver Bullet" or his role as the villian, Mr. Joshua, in the first "Lethal Weapon" movie? He also had an okay role in "The Firm" as a private detective (Holly Hunter's lover and boss) who gets rubbed-out.
  17. "Walk the Line" was very good; it's inspired me to seek out some Johnny Cash CDs. A couple I haven't seen mentioned: "Sid and Nancy," about Sid Vicious. "Lady Sings the Blues," about Billie Holiday. Both were heroin addicts, so they can be tough films to watch. I'm waiting for a film to be made about Jaco Pastorius. Someday?
  18. Finally got rid of the guy! Sheesh!
  19. C-3PO: We're doomed. There'll be no escape for the Princess this time.
  20. "The Daily Show" has some of the best comedy writing on the planet. Them and "The Onion."
  21. http://telemaniac.free.fr/baby_face1.jpg How about "Baby Face" Finster? Bwahahahaha! Seriously, I can't pick between the amoral Joe Pesci or the (slightly) conscience-driven Ray Liotta.
  22. "I got it, I got it, I got it..." HEADSTONE: He Got It
  23. And since the team he's on won the challenge, Brent gets another free week. They gotta get rid of that guy somehow. The clips for next week show him 'losing it.'
  24. QUOTE (Nunavuter @ Mar 10 2006, 07:44 AM) Finding My Way The first album is so viceral, and non-intellectual. It's the only Rush album that allows pelvic thrusts. Yeah. And it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insay-ay-ay-ane!
  25. QUOTE That whole scene with the music always used to make me cry. I guess you would have to lose a child to understand the agony. But her singing plays at your heart as well. I've never lost a child, but that scene makes me cry, too. Glad I'm not the only guy weeping during that scene. It's definitely the combination of song and movie that creates the emotional punch.
