  1. I think when we get down to Zepp's 'lesser' albums it's all just a matter of personal taste. My view is that after Physical Graffiti, Zeppelin were on the wain from a creative perspective. PG was for me on a personal level important due to the place I was in at the time of release. I was however a bit disappointed with ITTOD.
  2. I totally agree with you on The Eldrich Dark. I have listened to the new album a couple of times now and am really enjoying it. It's perhaps a bit less heavy and 'doomy' than previous releases but still a worthy addition to their catalogue.
  3. I haven't delved that deeply into the lyrics tbh ..... to me it's just a damn fine song.
  4. It gets a right slagging in certain circles but I think it's a great album. Achilles Last Stand is magnificent.
  5. I can't get excited with any of this i'm afraid. Such an important release as Signals - to get what is, in my opinion, a shoddy anniversary release is pretty disappointing (to put it mildly!).
  6. In 1973 Yes were gods! Yessongs is just packed with great songs and performances. Yeah for sure the recording quality was not great, but it doesn't stop me loving it! A classic!
  7. You know I'm born to lose And gambling's for fools But that's the way I like it, baby I don't want to live forever
  8. Heck! Everyone should enjoy a bit of retirement time. Hope they go out with a blast!
  9. I decided on some different (for me!) choices to listen to -
  10. I gave this one more spin. The music on it is pretty good.... in places really good. As for Ian's vocals.... the spoken word passages spoil the songs, on a couple of songs the vocals are ok-ish. If he decided to release an instrumental version of the album (which of course he won't) it would be great. Jethro Tull died in 2012. This is them in name only. Even if Martin and Ian made up and he rejoined the band they would still have the problem with Ian's vocals. I wish Ian would forget about the dollar signs and release new music under the Ian Anderson name ..... it would be more honest. Anyway, the Steven Wilson remix of Broadsword & The Beast is due soon ...... it will be a much better listen. Great little album by Amplifier. My favourite album of the year so far.
  11. Looking forward to this and the new Peter Gabriel album which is due sometime in 2023.
  12. What are these ugly little f*ckers?
  13. Warren Zevon - Empty Handed Heart. A song which made me cry during two marraige break-ups.
  14. RIP Harry, The King of Calypso.
  15. I don't disagree with you. Yes, for a man of his age and bearing in mind the throat problems he has encountered, he is doing well. If this album (and also Zealot Game) had been released as Ian Anderson solo albums, I would have said, fine, you know what to expect. But for them to be released as Tull albums, it just doesn't sit well with me. Tull split in 2012 and it all should have stopped there. Everything since then have really only been Ian Anderson solo projects. Obviously this is only my view. As a long term Tull fan I am probably a bit biased on the subject!!
  16. Not for me i'm afraid..... but as long as Alex is enjoying himself good on him.
  17. Being a real glutton for punishment I gave this another spin. Then it came to me!!!!! ........ perhaps I should send Ian an email to ask if he would consider releasing an instrumental version of it.
  18. Another listen ...... some of the music is pretty good, but man, Ian's voice is woeful! I wish he had just released this as a solo album - it does the Jethro Tull name a disservice. A terrific new live album from Joe Bonamassa - highly recommended! New album from Amplifier. A highly underrated band imo. This is a fine listen. White Buffalo EP by Crown Lands. I love this band!!
