  1. It's all the cabbage and stout. EVERYTHING is faster.
  2. I'm only a lurker these days, and not even a good one at that, but THANK YOU so much for thinking of me, you lovely lot.
  3. He sits in your room, his tomb with a fist full of tacks Preoccupied with his vengeance Cursin' the dead that can't answer him back You know that he has no intentions Of looking your way, unless it's to say That he needs you to test his inventions
  4. I hate myself for lovin' you and the weakness that it showed You were just a painted face on a trip down Suicide Road. The stage was set, the lights went out all around the old hotel, I hate myself for lovin' you and I'm glad the curtain fell. I hate that foolish game we played and the need that was expressed And the mercy that you showed to me, who ever would have guessed? I went out on Lower Broadway and I felt that place within, That hollow place where martyrs weep and angels play with sin. Heard your songs of freedom and man forever stripped, Acting out his folly while his back is being whipped. Like a slave in orbit, he's beaten 'til he's tame, All for a moment's glory and it's a dirty, rotten shame. There are those who worship loneliness, I'm not one of them, In this age of fiberglass I'm searching for a gem. The crystal ball up on the wall hasn't shown me nothing yet, I've paid the price of solitude, but at last I'm out of debt. Can't recall a useful thing you ever did for me 'Cept pat me on the back one time when I was on my knees. We stared into each other's eyes 'til one of us would break, No use to apologize, what diff'rence would it make? So sing your praise of progress and of the Doom Machine, The naked truth is still taboo whenever it can be seen. Lady Luck, who shines on me, will tell you where I'm at, I hate myself for lovin' you, but I should get over that.

  10. As I get older, and dare I say, more mature, I find Fish's amateur dramatics, over-egged vocal delivery & lovelorn teenager lyrics all a bit twee & embarrassing. So, lucky for me, with H, they're just getting better and better.
  11. How did you like hearing them with the string quartet? Did you wish it was just the band in that hallowed hall, or did the quartet make the whole experience better? Because of the surroundings, the strings were real sprinklings of fairy dust.
  12. Another trailer. It was a privilege to attend this. In terms of occasion, only Rush in Holmdel 08, Dublin 11, Glasgow 13 & MSG 15 match it. All "pinch me" nights, where there's something more than just music going on.
  13. just because you disagree doesn't mean you gotta get all up in it, just take a chill pill for a moment and relax. Sweetheart, if you think I'm getting "all up in it" here, you quite obviously haven't seen me get all up in it when I'm actually getting all up in it. And telling the dancing chill pill to take a chill pill and relax is just precious. Thank god you didn't call me 'mate'...then you really might've seen someone get "all up in it". :poke: I have actually, n I love calling people mate. Most people don't seem to have a problem with it, except you because you apparently hate me n my guts. I found it interesting when you first started calling people "mate" since I wasn't aware that you were British or Australian lol. I'm not Australian, but I am a bit British, Irish, n Eastern European yesyes!! No you're not, you are 100% American...having some ethnicity in your ancestry means nothing unless you were born in another country Oh, and "mate" is definitely British and Australian slang, so not sure why you have decided to start using it. "Pal", that's the one, certainly over here, & I think, Scotland. Said the right way....
  14. I felt the same way 2.5 years ago... 10 years ago.... 29 years ago.... i hear you. i try every few months actually. and there are some really REALLY good tunes in the H era. and in all honesty. it should be right up my alley. it's the voice though. i still maintain H is forever singing through a gigantic yawn. or a head cold, lol Mick That is amazing Mick! That can be Steve's new shitty solo record. "THE GIGANTIC YAWN!" FISH RULES!! I was lucky enough to meet him twice in my life. A true gentleman and a scholar. Met Steve once. A total Neil Peart freak clown clone. I remember seeing Marillion with Hogarth at the Great American Music Hall. That prick actually stopped the concert and rambled on and on about how sorry he was to offend the American people overseas for his ultra hate and liberal views against AMERICA! The guy is a douche bag. He makes Neil Peart seem like Mary Poppins. FISH IS SO FUN! I partied with him during the show and after!!! He is one fun fuckker. Of course that's why his is named FISH! Because he drinks like one! FISH ON! I've witnessed the piscine one's less pleasant side too. There's always two sides.
  15. The real solo shit. FISH RULES! I am so pissed tonight. I bought my BRAVE CD BLU-RAY BOX SET months ago to get the autograph card from RACKET RECORDS! So today I get my package. NO AUTO CARD! It came with a damaged corner too from shitty package protection. FUCKK RACKET RECORDS! They just lost a customer! Don't care really anyway. I have my MISPLACED CHILDHOOD BOXES SIGNED! MINUS STEVE HOGARTH! AMEN! FISH RULES! F "H!" Autographed cards will be sent separately.
  16. I can hear them now! I'm aways so entertained by Freddie right there though that I've never really thought much about those fills, but now that I do they are very good. yea they're tiny fills but i doubt many drummers would have thought to put fills in those spaces. normally a band would be silent for the whole phrase then come back in on the Chorus. it's the little details like that though. Mick Absolutely! Roger wasn't always super flashy, but he always played exciting stuff when you listened for it. Well, at least in the 70s, lol. If you haven’t already, you should check out his solo album Fun in Space. Good tunes, RT plays all the instruments (with some help on keys?), and is pretty diverse. Some nice drumming too! (Good Times Are Now, My Country, I think he recycles the More Of That Jazz beat in Interlude in Constantinople iirc.) He also does those super-cool upside down fills in You’re My Best Friend - ie: going up the drums. Who the hell goes up the drums other than Ringo? :P. (Well, Neil Pearl in the middle of a solo, but he goes everywhere!) I still haven't checked out solo stuff from most of the band! :o :o :o me either. as much as i love Queen. I was never much interested in these guys apart from each other. Mick It's like, I know they're all great, but what makes the magic is when they get together. And i'm gonna be honest Rodger's lead vocal songs on queen albums aside from Car.....kinda always a low point on Queen albums for me. so i kinda purposely always avoided his solo records. he's a great singer but the songs he got to sing in Queen mostly never hit it with me. Mick Wow, that is the opposite for me! For the most part I always enjoyed his Queen tunes as they generally rocked pretty hard, plus, as you say, he’s a great singer. Funny world! Never got into any of their other solo projects. Starfleet sounded really lame to my jaded teenaged ears. :D But I really enjoyed Fun in Space, maybe because it was so diverse - like, say, a good Queen album. ;) http://youtube.com/watch?v=9PDb_pfMtg4 Fun In Space is a great album, full of tunes. The follow-up Strange Frontier has its moments too. Gets patchy after that, but The Cross albums were decent, I loved Mad Bad & Dangerous To Know. Any album with a song called Penetration Guru HAS to be amazing...... I LOVED Starfleet, but I was/am a ridiculous fanboi.
  17. H still gets my vote. Still the new lead singer for some, 29 years later....
  18. Totally wired, wired, totally. RIP MES.
  19. Most important American band of the past 30 years. Their absence hurts. Collapse Into Now, like CA, is a glorious swansong.
  20. They owe us nothing and gave us so much. Memories, music and some life-long friendships. Good luck to them.
