I liked Halo Effect before it was cool.

I enjoyed The Astonishing for my first listen (i particularly enjoyed a section that happens towards the end of the first album; I don't know which song, though), but then I haven't replayed it because I bought the cds on release day and I don't have the patience to do a digital rip, and I'm too lazy to take them out of the stereo anyway. I don't know if it's just general lethargy that's making me act this way, or if it's actually unexciting to the point where I don't mind not hearing it again.

Seemingly unpopular fashion opinions: Geddy's hairstyle in the 80's was top percentage. Sexy as hell. 70's was their worst era appearance-wise. I like Alex's suits.

A week and a half ago, I didn't like Natural Science. Countdown has definitely grown on me, which solidifies Signals' place as an album I love more than people. Same with Territories: I didn't "get" it at first, but now I think it's probably the best song on Power Windows.

It is a Juno Award, specifically the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award which was awarded to Rush in March 2015. :) edit: actually I think that one's a medal. He's definitely holding a Juno, though.

The song you call Between the Wheels sounds a lot like Afterimage, to me. Anyway...Grace Under Pressure is probably my second favourite, of the synth era...Hold Your Fire is still king. Read that again, Blue J. He says "kick off and end", not just "kick off". Since the OP mentioned Red Lenses, though, I don't think it's a hiccup at all! It's a change in tone in regards to the songs that come before so it's almost a little discontinuous, like a mild case of Superconductor, but the lyrical content of the song fits in really well with the rest of the album. Red Lenses needed to be there and it enhances, rather than detracts from, the album, imo.

Aw, it's not really in-depth. Just a little paragraph and a quote for each song. A part of me wants to know what inspired Geddy to write Tears, and Alex to write Lessons. We know what the songs are, we don't know why the songs are. Oh well. Still cool.

Opening riff of Superconductor came up and now I'm not sure if I wanna just remove my headphones and never touch them again. Not a bad song. Just ruins my mood every time. edit: thankfully it gets better

I love the part where it's all like "boys and girl together" in War Paint. The louder this album is, the better.
