  1. Those early Police albums are gold. They jumped the shark once Sting hijacked them and starting putting out pop drivel like Do do do and Every Shit You Take. I watched the rehersal videos for The Police tour in 2007. God, Sting is an insufferable passive-aggressive control-freak douchebag. Him and Bono couldn't be in the same room because there's not enough room for both egos.
  2. Convicted murderers that die in prison have nothing positive left to give to the world. He had a long history of screwing around with guns, even at the heights of his producing career. One less lunatic to house. Good riddance at this point. Saying RIP is polite send off, but this guy doesn't deserve it.
  3. The DC rioters getting fired and/or arrested. If your new-found fame is not in perceived in a positive light...face the consequences bitches. Wait a minute! If these guys are all getting fired, who's left to change my oil at Jiffy Lube?
  4. me too. back in the day when there were actually record stores, I would get strange looks and comments when bringing a diverse pile of CDs to the counter.
  5. ^^^This. Bitd ABC TV broadcast the California Jam, and ELP's set blew me away. I destroyed 2 vinyl copies of WBMF before picking it up on CD. Yeah that triple live album had the same magic as ATWAS.
  6. I'll take the easy way out and agree with this. Emerson was a God to me in my teens when I was still studying classical piano. Now when I listen to ELP I consider much of it as over-indulgent noodling. Love Beach was a total sellout of an album to comply with the last album requirement of their record contract. Emerson apparently had a coke problem starting with Works that dogged the rest of his career. Never could catch the magic after ELP.
  7. I swear you said you loved KISS many times on this forum! This thread is full of ex-KISS fan traitors! Out damn spot! :madra: I will send $20 to anyone that can find my statement of praise for Kiss on this forum. Never happened, never will.
  8. Neil would be proud to be snubbed by that worthless obsolete network.
  9. Supply Disruption in the Fast Food chains must be the last curse of 2020 tonight. Wife stopped to get some KFC...no breasts, only dark meat (despite that there is a Walmart across the street). So I stopped to get Arby's...they were out of Roast Beef (or whatever that beef flavored gelatin mix is). So I stopped at Wendy's. Not enough cash, here's my card. Denied 3 times. Here's my backup card...finally it works. Tomorrow Taco Bell will be out of tortillas, McDonalds will be out of burger buns and Dunkin Donuts will be out of donuts. Happy New Year!
  10. ELP vs King Crimson would have been a more interesting comparison. But ELP in this one, not even close.
  11. We have a fully decorated half sized fake tree that we just move to the basement when we're done with it. Then just bring it out again next year. The Mrs does the other decorating.
  12. Really don't find anything endearing about Pearl Jam after the first 2 albums. Shake Your Money Maker was kind of weak, but Southern Harmony is epic. Just wish the Robinson's were less dickish. They were going to tour the anniversary of Money Maker, but without any original members. As much as I like the Crowes, I'm not going to fall for the money-grab tour.
  13. I saw them live a couple of years ago. Very small crowd, but good show. Rich had a hissy fit when people were talking and using their smartphones during a mellow song. Gave them a lecture on audience behavior.
  14. This is a joke, right? I guess someone noticed. :chickendance:
  15. I always enjoyed Alex's 'closet in your house' during his goof band introductions.
  16. At my first Rush concert in 83, Geddy beefed one of the solo bass breaks in YYZ. You could tell he was pissed.

  18. Chromey! ...and Geddy wearing the prophetic kimono
  19. If it's only one album per band then it's not a true top 30 list; it's more of a favorite albums of your favorite bands list. I could limit my top 30 to about 15 bands.
