Agree. In fact I think Rush themselves said something along those lines. And I'm paraphrasing heavily, but if I recall correctly, they said, "at one point we realized we didn't want to keep writing abstract vague songs, but wanted to start writing about actual things." (Or something to that effect).

Yeah I don't get that either. Cause when the music stops---there,s only the sound of Lorraine---- Okay now that was clever. :) Wish I "got it" but of course I don't... Change Lorraine to "the rain" and you have a line from Bravado What's Bravado?

Im sorry, but it is I who should be asking you that. K don't regularly associate myself with TRF mortals, the like of which you are categorized as. As for the avatar comment, this is my avatar. A faceless watchful protector of all things pleasant. Im sorry you are bitter about this news but life is tough sometimes. Anyone else liking this guy? Maybe if he were more creative. So true. But lately, has anyone here been creative? Lots of creative people here. I mean, you're here on a Rush board yet you like Bruce Springsteen. That's pretty damn creative. :D So true! I prefer Springsteen to Rush... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/spicoli.jpg "you dick!" Is this a movie reference? I know that face http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTU5MTM0OTExOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNjgxMzYyMQ@@._V1_SX640_SY720_.jpg

So very yay! Hearing Test Results You correctly identified 26 tunes (out of 26) on the Distorted Tunes Test. Congratulations! You have a fine sense of pitch. Thank you for taking the Distorted Tunes Test. -
Maybe he was mistakenly thinking of the liner notes. They look pretty damn dangerous in that picture! http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images/albums/afarewelltokings-1.jpg

The article is total BS! The guy is just making stuff up.

I always thought The Anarchist had a narcissistic undercurrent to it.

Exit Stage Left? Inside Rush's 'Farewell' Show
antiquark replied to sun dog's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Also they'd have a tough time finding a drummer who could write lyrics, too. -
And be eligible for Medicare. Finally someone can look at his tendonitis. Then the concert tours can continue!

Just think Neil, you can retire in two short years!

Exit Stage Left? Inside Rush's 'Farewell' Show
antiquark replied to sun dog's topic in On The Lighted Stage
(sentence from wrong thread) I think he likes drumming but hates touring. He wanted to call it quits back in 1989, and just do studio albums, but had an epiphany that a band is only a band if they play live. -
One of my kids had some amusing interpretations: The Anarchist: A missing part of nematodes around me like a cage Show Don't Tell chorus: Shove it all down me!

Sounds like Alex's health is the real reason the band finally called it quits. Even more so than Neil's "attitude problem." -
You would think Neil would have updated his site by now?

It's more like "I'm not better than you, don't worship me." He doesn't like when people worship him like a god. -

As long as they still get drunk together, they must be good friends... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb-MwVUUy3g -

After his family tragedy, he told Geddy and Alex that he didn't want to do any more interviews or press conferences. So he let them take care of that. I've heard that he's friendly and outgoing if you don't know who he is. -
They certainly seem to hate it LC, which probably dates back to the xanaconductor fiasco of 1991. I agree with the songs you like, and dare I say that I would even add red tide to the like list . Xanaconductor fiasco? I'm almost afraid to ask... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNt6cgspdN4 Behold the inexplicable segue... @ 1:05 Holy crap! Talk about an awkward transition.

A blog, he has: http://www.neilpeart.net/ Maybe he's still working his way through that celebratory barrel of scotch. (Has a twitter account too: ) -
Yes, but poorly.

No, I think they accomplished their goals with one leg. (See image!). No more legs! http://i.imgur.com/9w7avub.jpg

Turn off the TV, put down the scotch, get off the couch, and get back to work!

Why stop at picketing? All out riots are sometimes necessary.

Neil Peart bashes Kiss' all out marketing Approach
antiquark replied to Self-Indulgence's topic in Rush
Agree with Neil. That stuff about bands saying "this crowd is the greatest I've ever seen" is true. Even crappy bar bands say shit like that. And it's basically a lie! Also, while Rush sells stuff, they don't embrace the hero worship aspect of it. I.e. you wont find a t-shirt with Neil sticking out his tongue. Also, a lot of bands portray a bullcrap image of their personal lives. Such as, their life being one big party of booze, drugs, and women. Again, that is basically a lie!
