  1. Agreed. Especially after 2 of their last 3 albums have been disappointing, this was a nice surprise.
  2. Yeah I was in Detroit and by One Little Victory I could tell he was locked in. Sounded better than the last 2 tours I saw in Pittsburgh. He started to fade a bit come Anthem and such, but that's expected. I haven't seen all of the other A+ vocal nights, but Detroit was best i've heard
  3. So I don't post, mostly lurk around but I wanted to share. With no Pittsburgh date, I had to pick a nearby show that was ideally on a weekend. So given the ticket availability, I decided on Detroit. Been keeping an eye on tickets on Stubhub and ticker master for weeks to monitor price, location, # left, and all that good stuff. Seats were no longer available on ticket master, and half the stubhub total from a couple weeks ago were gone. Saw a pair come up in row 2 of the upper bowl for $60. Considering ticketmaster had literal last row seats for almost 60 after fees, that seemed like a winner. Called my brother to see what he thought. Went to pull the trigger...couldn't use my credit card because it is in use on another stubhub account (the wife-y's). Logged into her account...tickets were gone. I couldn't take the stress of this anymore, and bought basically identical tickets on Alex's side for $80. A bit more than i wanted, but I've been burned once or twice by waiting and waiting to get tickets for the right price. Thrilled and relieved to be officially going...pissed I just missed out on that 1st pair
  4. Vital signs for me. Already got the next disc ready to go before Witch Hunt ends. I'm not a big Synth era guy, so I use Chronicles II to get my fix of some of those songs, and I always skip Mystic Rhythms
  5. Lessons. Everytime someone says side 2 of 2112 is weak except something for nothing, I just keep thinking "How can people not love this song?" Love the guitar, the bass fills, drum fills. Its just so good
  6. Yes. What if Spaghetti Lee hated the classics? What would he call them? Whacking Man Bi-Whore and the Blow Job Bastardeel Gay Xanadoodoo Hummherqueers The Pees La Vaga Suckac*cko The Sh*t of Retardo Dumb Sawyerpeepee WHY WHY SUCK? Lamelight The C*minmy Eye Suckd*ckisions POINTS!!!!!
  7. Individual Moments... 1) Black Sabbath Reunion Tour. Just the very beggining itself. I couldn't have had higher hopes, and they exceeded them. Roof came off with opening note. 2) Pantera on Reinventing the Steel Tour -start to play Cementary Gates...then drunk Phil goes all "you guys like this (*stuff)? To (bleeping) bad" ...then rip into F****** Hostile. Dissapointed to redeemed in 4 seconds. 3) Rush Vapor Trails Tour- keyboard swoosh, starman, 2112 (1st rush show and i knew it would be my highlight to take away) I'm curious if anyone has any moments that would be in their top whatever if they happened. Within reason (so no beatles for me, since it was never possible). I'd go with full Hemispheres or 2112 right to # 2 if that had happened at any of the tours i've seen. Also a top 5 if Billy Joel played either Scenes From and Italian Restaurant or Goodnight Saigon when i saw him (sigh)
  8. I agree In the Mood is a weaker track from that album, but if the last tour was 91' then i was 8 years old. So many songs I want to hear will never happen and were retired before I was concert age (or even born in some cases). Its just one that I think could happen easily. I'd prefer like 25 70's songs over it, but Anthem, Bastille Day, Necromancer, something for nothing, etc...are never happening.
  9. In the Mood - i know its not a favorite of theirs, but my goodness this is easily possible and a good bone to throw 70's fans Working Man Bytor - still works pretty well In The End (easily for awhile, then a bit of a struggle) A a Passage to Bangkok 2112 - getting harder each year though. Honestly it would be the 1st to fall off this list, except i don't think that would ever happen Xanadu - especially if they keep shortening it (sigh) Closer to the Heart (getting rough) The Trees Circumstances (chorus is hard though)
  10. I am hoping you have ATWAS as well..... :codger: :D Oh yeah, i have Rush through MP, the live albums, a couple DVD's, and such. Having said that, the sythn era I continue to give a chance but just not my thing. I get why they changed, but when I want a departure from that 70's sound, there are just too many other bands and music genres that I prefer. Plenty of songs I like from the 80's but its just a different era that I'm not really into. Maybe i just don't like the 80's new wave sound in general, because after classic rock period I tend to go to heavy metal or honestly even some older rap stuff (I know, flame away but I grew up with that stuff so it was kind of unavoidable)
  11. I tend to lurk around here, but for this I think I need to post. Signals, for me, is the start of the era that kept me from becoming a big Rush fan for a long time. I was still a year away from being born when this came out, so most of their career for me has been looking backwards at the old catalog. When I 1st really got into music, my buddy turned me on to Rush with 2112 and ESL. Great place to start. This was right when Test for Echo came out, so i also got a copy of that (Ok, nothing mind blowing). He also gave me a copy of a show of hands (meh). I loved 2112 and ESL, but the others were not impressive, and not at all what I first thought of the band. I struggled (still do) to listen to those 2 records the whole way through. Echo - I just tend to eventually put in another disc, show of hands - I tend to skip most of it. I picked up Roll the Bones in a discount rack, and needless to say I thought I basically had the gist of the band at that point. I think I figured since a show of hands had synth stuff and closer to the heart, and I knew the songs that get radio play, I pretty much had the 70's covered. Lived this way till college. 1st chance to see them live was Vapor Trails my freshman year. I just remember hearing the greats that I knew and being blown away by some other stuff I never heard. Picked up Fly By night and Permament Waves and (by chance) basically discovered those songs that I remember from that tour being awesome (Bytor, and Natural Science) and the rest of the goodies. Now I had to go get all the classics up to Signals but stopped there. I have the Retrospective, and I really struggle with the 80's disc, especially if you exclude the MP stuff. If I can make it through Time Stands Still, I almost never get through Mystic Rhythms, and then the skipping starts. I like some of that stuff, but don't love any of it really. With youtube, and all the tours since, I've heard much of the sythn era but just can't really get into it.
