  3. A very tough question as I`ve been so many over 35 years and still counting . Paul McCartney at Liverpool Docks 1990 was amazing and two days later at Knebworth Silver Cleff Awards . (Macca , Floyd , Page n Plant ) Roger Waters - The Wall . Got to be the all round best gig I`ve ever seen In The Flesh Tour - Waters again . Seeing Floyd the first time The Wall , Earls Court 1980 . Thin Lizzy 1978 first time was amazing Rush at Bingly Hall . Near the front . brilliant Jethro Tull at Wakefield , again brilliant Black Country Commuion , Manchester Academy , the place rocked . The Ladder Tour - Yes - First time I saw Jon Anderson with Yes ! , every song must have had a ten minute standing ovations Maria McKee - High Dive tour . right at the front ! and a brilliant performance . 7. I have a few , and I`m not really a Live album fan as It`s not the same if your not there but . Live And Dangerous - Thin Lizzy . Not a hundred percent live album as it has been said , but it is a brilliant album Made In Japan - Deep Purple . The only let down is The Mule . Get Yer Ya Ya`s Out . The Stones - The Stones at their best and they never bettered . Live Rust - Neil Young . An album that has Like A Hurricane and Cortez The Killer, Hey Hey My My etc etc is without doubt spine tingling Raw Rock N Roll . Bursting Out - Jethro Tull . - Tull at their peak and what a peak , it`s Everest. Space Ritual - Hawkwind - Roll one and dim the lights (a Lava lamp would help ) and your almost there and a cosmic trip and Hawkwind better than any studio album . The Song Remains The Same - Led Zeppelin - It`s Zeppelin Live . Enough said . The Who - Live At Leeds - It`s The Who Live ! Enough said ( Also Isle Of Wight is pretty good ) The Name Of This Band Is . - Talking Heads - Two sides of a one off band - Just brilliant from start to finish . Also try Wings Over America , Yessongs , Peter Gabriel Live . Various , the very best of the all. Woodstock Soundtrack . - Hendrix , The Who . C.S.N. Y. Ten Years After, Joan Baez , John Sebastian etc, etc, (Also check out Hendrix full set at Woodstock ) Best Rush . Without doubt All The Worlds A Stage I hope these help :D

  10. Hello fellow Manc ! A few questions Treeduck . What was your thoughts on Clive Barker `s Books Of Blood ? Have you seen the brilliant Midnight Meat Train ? Are you a Barker fan ? (as for I am !) And . Was Donnie Darko the frist time you`ve watched it , if not have you worked it out yet ? (For I`m still working on it ) Sorry if I`ve asked to many questions . Book of Blood the film? It was ok, maybe a bit of a weak ending. The Books of Blood the short story collections are excellent. The Meat Train film was pretty good. I was a Barker fan, at first. The Books of Blood, The Damnation Game, Weaveworld, Cabal and the Great and Secret Show are all good stuff. But he started going in too much of an out there fantasy direction for me after that. So basically I liked him in the 80's but not so much after that. Yeah that's the first time I've seen that one. It made no sense to me really, but it was interesting to watch. Yeh, same here , I kinda lost the faith after The Great And Secret Show . They did another "Book Of Blood " Film , Dread , which was`nt to bad . :)
  11. I see no on got the wit of my last post .

  16. Have you got the Ram boxset? Holy shitballs, it's amazing. He's done a fabulous job with all his boxset reissues. It amazes me how many great songs were relegated to b-sides. "Oh Woman, Oh Why" - crunching guitars and that raspy McCartney howl. I have the 2cd Ram which it`s self is brilliant . So I can imagine how good the Box set is . Yeh, the remasters are superb . So far I have Band On The Run 2cd McCartney 2cd , Wings Over America . Lookin forward to Wild Life . :D Yes, Wings Wild Life. I remember back in the early 70's setting up some action figures and such on a "stage" and having Paul McCartney concerts, playing his newest solo LP on my little portable turntable. Ha, I was such a Beatles geek as a youngster. I saved up all year for holiday money and off we went to Blackpool and I spent all my money on Ram , Red Rose Speedway and a McCartney poster :P

  19. Jon Anderson Manchester Royal Exchange Aug 4th . It was a first time at the Royal Exchange and what a great place . A round little theatre which lucky for me I was on the third row The set up was 2 guitars a Keyboard that long thin thing he plays on Olis alot and a Ukulele his carpet , candles and that was it . He had a head set and four mikes placed round the floor Most if not all his songs were about 3 minutes long and in between songs he told little stories of why he came to write them . What did he play ? What did`nt he play ! He opened up with Your`s Is No Discrace , followed by Sweet Dreams and then told a tale of how in 69 he went to Jamica and discovered Reggie and wrote a Song called Time And A word in which he did a bit of a medley of She Loves You , All You Need Is Love and then into One Love (Bob Marley ) He did Simon and Art`s America and On that funny long thing he plays on Olias he played Flight Of The Moorblade ! from Olias ! Brilliant ! We then got a bit of a Yes blitz Owner Of A Lonely Heart , Starship Trooper , And You And I and another highlight for me Turn Of The Century and Wonderous Stories . A song (I cant remember the name ) we wrote about the time he first saw The Beatles In Southport . He did a ten minute Medley on the Keyboard of which he did Close To The Edge /Heart Of The Sunrise . Back on Guitar he did Find My Way Home and State Of Independance. A Day In The Life on Ukulele A few more I can`t remember but he finshed off with another highlight for me Soon . A brilliant performance,it always brings back to me when I see Jon Anderson what a great artist and a genius song writer he is .
