  1. As they used to say on CKLW-AM, The Big 8, ..."and the hits just keep on comin'." Titans can Mike Vrabel.
  2. Bob Seger-The Singles, 1966-1967 Bob Seger-Smokin' O. P's.
  3. So would I, 'Fins are beat up. Also gotta suck for Pittsburgh with TJ Watt out.
  4. As exclusive as these services are. But it's my understanding that as participating teams the KC and Miami viewing areas will see the game on the local NBC affiliate. WTVJ, the local yokel in MyJamitMe says they will be showing it. We'll see. In other news, Ron Rivera gets the blindfold, cigarette, and firing squad in DC.
  5. Congratulations Michigan. Otoh, I have this itch that indicates Michael Penix might make something of himself in the NFL.
  6. A lead sealed $25 bag of pennies, packaged in 50 shotgun cartridge like wrappers, weighs 27.5 pounds. I remember that from operating one of those coin handling and bagging machines way back in early 1970. Worst damn job ever!
  7. Pete Waldmier, long time sports columnist for the Detroit News, passes away at 92. Pete was a straight up bad ass who didn't take any s**t from anybody. When the News was sold to Gannett and they were looking for more of a "suck up" for the Sports Department Pete, who had an ironclad contract with the News told them to stfu. I loved the guy. Rest well, Pete! https://deadlinedetroit.com/articles/31605/lengel_fearless_and_full_of_chutzpah_and_life_ex-detroit_news_columnist_pete_waldmeir_dies_at_92?fbclid=IwAR0qwqaH15mHBV16qbODuZYiB-4qW5yXQyCVHSSznrUJCT3LY9V0tPLejYQ
  8. Nah, been living in South Florida since '86. And it was afterwards that I really got into Rush.
  9. Del Palmer, bass player and engineer for Kate Bush, passes away at 71 "after a long illness". RIP. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/del-palmer-longtime-kate-bush-221837259.html
  10. Just ordered ticket for Joe Satriani and Steve Vai March 23.
  11. Goddamn streaming services! Thankfully I'll be watching as the Dolphins are playing. A lot will be hedging on who's healthy for Miami, and who is not. Morning line Chiefs -3.5, o/u 44.5
  12. Falcons HC Arthur Smith is kaput! https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/08/sport/arthur-smith-fired-atlanta-falcons-nfl-spt-intl/index.html
  13. Dashcam Lessons and other related pages on Facebook showing the dumb s**t people do while driving, usually leading to accidents; aka "the most dangerous part of a motor vehicle is the nut attached to the steering wheel." I've noticed four recurring trends: United States: Generalized mayhem; lots of red light and stop signs ignored. Blatant disregard of yielding to emergency vehicles. "lane change privileges". A motor scooter pilot's revenge of smashing the "offending vehicle's" outside rearview mirror. Special "truckers only" pages with the problems big rig operators face. And of course the verbal comments during and afterwards. Canada: Most of these involve road hog and privleged lane changers on multi-lane highways; most of these do not involve excessive speed, and do involve fewer obscenities. Asia, particularly India: Blatant disregard for vehicle height and weight capacities. Lots of smashed bridges and viaducts; trucks going off road, collapsing, or overturning due to gross overloading. Europe, particularly Russia: Blatant disregard for vehicle maintenance. Yeah, like you think about your vehicle pinwheeling and swapping ends while winter driving because your tires are as bald as Yul Brynner. This leads to the use of what appears to be a Russian favorite expression; cyka bloyat, literally,"bitch slut", figuratively, "s**t", "f**k", godd***it", etc. Be careful behind the wheel, and stay safe!
  14. Another Wolverine supporter, but omg what numbskull called that play? I highly doubt it was Satan Saban.
  15. Corum scores, Defense stops Bama, GO BLUE!
  16. Go Blue, but how was that not running into the kicker?
  17. Boy, am an I an idiot. Just edited my two posts to correct them. Cale got into the fight with Donnie Allison. Bobby joined in later to help his brother out. Jeez, I must be getting old!
  18. Chateau de Laubade vintage 2000 Armagnac. Happy new year, mes amis!
  19. Bwahaha, Ken Squier announcing some commentary about the end of the race when the video changes to Donnie and Cale duking it out: "...AND THERE'S A FIGHT!...". Classic.
  20. NASCAR stock car driver Cale Yarborough passes away at 84 "after a long illness". Cale is best known for his fist fight with driver Donnie Allison after the finish of the 1979 Daytona 500. The fight, a postscript to CBS' first "flag to flag" live broadcast of an automobile race, cemented its niche in sports media. RIP Cale. https://www.cbssports.com/nascar/news/cale-yarborough-nascar-legend-and-hall-of-famer-dies-at-84/
  21. Unfortunately Ed's "financial consultant" son Shawn has taken up the mantle.
  22. I am convinced that no professional sports organization-including FIFA and the EPL-has worse officiating than the NFL.
