  1. I totally agree with you regarding the live stuff. As i posted in another topic, I ended up creating a decent quality PeW tour setlist by combining these tracks with tracks from two soundboard bootlegs i have from the PeW tour ..... Ploughkeepsie Jan 1980 and St. Louis Feb 1980. The only track from the new box set i didn't use was Jacob's Ladder as the Ploughkeepsie version let my setlist 'flow' better.I used Audacity to edit a little to take away the silence gaps you mentioned and also make sure the levels were constant and ended up with this setlist - 1. 2112 (From St Louis bootleg) 2.Freewill (from Box Set) 3. By-Tor (from Box Set) 4. Xanadu (from Box Set) 5. The Spirit of Radio (from Box Set) 6. Natural Science (from Box Set) 7. A Passage to Bangkok (from Box Set) 8. The Trees (from Box Set) 9 Cygnus X-1 (from Box Set) 10. Hemispheres (from Box Set) 11. Closer to the Heart (from Box Set) 12. Beneath, Between and Behind (from Box Set) 13. Jacob's Ladder (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 14. Working Man (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 15. Finding My Way (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 16. Anthem (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 17. Bastille Day (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 18. In The Mood (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 19. Drum Solo (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) 20. La Villa Strangiato (Ploughkeepsie bootleg) It works very well ..... only because the two bootlegs i used are soundboards of exceptional quality. That's nice. But I am a vinyl record guy, so that is kinda hard to do when listening to vinyl record. I do have the St. Louis bootleg on vinyl record, and it sounds great. Ah yes! ...I see your difficulty. I fear you are resigned to a somewhat incomplete set of live recordings. A shame as my 'cocktail' works really well as a representationof a PeW show .... albeit in a digital medium. Just out of curiosity, my setlist above works out at 124 mins .... how many LPs would that work out at? Well, the live songs that came with the new box set fits on 2 vinyl records. And same with the St. Louis bootleg, also fits on 2 vinyl records. It is about 20-25 mins on each side, with the song 2112 taking a whole side.. I am to tired to do the math. So I leave it to you!

  3. Today I finally got my new Rush Permanent Waves 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set. So I am starting to listen on the live parts. Rush - Permanent Waves World Tour 1980 on double vinyl record. I have mix feelings about this live record. For a couple of reasons. 1. The songs are not in correct order, as they was played in the setlist, they start with Beneath, Between & Behind, which I find a bit odd. And 2. it is silence gaps between the songs, they have not mixed it so you can at least pretend it's all from same concert! and 3. It is not the full set list that they played during the tour! I would gladly have paid more if they released a full set list in correct order, starting with 2112! Anyway..here it is. I enjoy what I got! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Permanent-Waves/release/15398398
  4. Easy pick... Queen II. It is Queen, and it is Queen II, their best record!
  5. And before going to sleep I am going to listen to one more record. Going from 1980 to 1991, I am going to enjoy Rush - Roll The Bones on the 2015 reissue vinyl record. I find that this is a very fun record to listen to. Songs that put a smile on my face when I hear them! :D I have been listening to this record for a few days on CD in the car. but it's been a while since I heard it on vinyl record, so I thought it would be perfect to end it on vinyl record before taking a break from this record! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Roll-The-Bones/release/7632117
  6. This friday evening (night), I am enjoying Rush - Permanent Waves on the 2015 reissue vinyl record, while I am waiting for my Permanent Waves 40th Anniversary super deluxe box set that was sent today from Rush official website! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Permanent-Waves/release/7137954
  7. My Favorite Headache - Geddy! Victor - Alex! Back To The Light - Brian May
  8. Sad It is also sad to reply to a 3 years old comment!
  9. Outlander Outlander Outlander Outlander Outlander
  10. I am free from work today, so I am taking the opportunity to relax and listen to some music. I am starting with the most underrated Rush record ever, their 3rd one called Caress Of Steel, from 1975. I am enjoying it on the 2015 reissue vinyl record! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Caress-Of-Steel/release/6705408
  11. I am right now enjoying the Rush In Rio that was included in the R40 box set. And I am watching it on my new TV. Looks and sounds great!
  12. Rush - Snakes & Arrows Live on bluray yesterday evening, on my new TV!
  13. Today, after coming home from a 3 and a half hours walk in the forest with my dog, I am now sitting down and relaxing listening to Rush 1982 studio record called Signals, on the 2015 reissue vinyl record. https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Signals/release/7576882
  14. I am this evening enjoying Rush - Presto on the 2015 reissue vinyl record. Love this record! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Presto/release/7634991
  15. Brian May is my number 1 guitar player, and always will be! I have had the pleasure of seeing him live 3 times. And he is just the best! A living legend!
  16. Love it too! My first Rush music purchase, bought it on R30 tour. Took my sister to it for her birthday, she was the big fan. I didn't know Rush much so when they played the Buffalo Springfield songs I was impressed. Took me a few more years before I became a big fan but so glad I got to see that concert! I am right now listening to the R30 concert (audio ripped from the bluray). I did not see Rush until the Time Machine tour, but I really hope that they will release R30 full concert on vinyl record!
  17. I have bought every box set as well since 2112. I sold the 2112 box set because it was just awful. The bonus songs was the worst bonus songs ever, just a bunch of lousy cover songs, + some live songs in REALLY bad quality! The A Farewell To Kings box set is probably my favorite so far. The whole concert from A Farewell To Kings Tour remixed finally! I wanted to have the whole show ever since I heard Different Stages the first time (The songs from the 3rd disc is from the same concert). The Hemispheres box set is all right, I was a bit disappointed that they picked the concert from the festival, with no real Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres. They could have picked a way better concert! I don't care if they take from a existing bootleg, it still would have been better. I pre-ordered the super deluxe box set of Permanent Waves + the hoody + the shirt. The bonus stuff seems to be good, but it's hard to know before you have heard it! Tho I wish they could have just picked a whole concert from the Permanent Waves Tour.
  18. I doubt Neil was happy during Vapor Trails Tour, he still had a hard time. Geddy said so during a interview from that time. You have never seen the R40?
  19. This morning I am enjoying Rush - Feedback on the 2016 reissue vinyl record. It is a EP with cover songs from the 60s that Rush recorded to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary since they released their debut record. This record seems to be really underrated, but I really enjoy it! I find that Rush do most of the songs better then the originals! My favorite song on this EP is The Seeker! https://www.discogs.com/Rush-Feedback/release/7973409
  20. I was angry for a very long time on the guys for not doing R40 in europe, I did not even listen to their music for a long time after they ended the tour (almost a year). Because I saw the amazing set list, and I was so happy that I would get to see some of those epics songs. And I was sure that they would come to europe, so I just waited for them to add more dates on their website. And when I understood that they would not come to europe, I could not travel to USA, because I had just got a new job, and I did not either had any money to buy both the concert ticket, airplane and hotel. I was angry at my self that I did not see R30 Tour (first time Rush played in sweden since 1978) because I was not a fan then, became a fan 2011 when I saw Rush live first time. But I did get to see them during Time Machine Tour and Clockwork Angels Tour (twice).
  21. My list is short sadly. I have only met Fish (ex-singer from Marillion) and Dweezil Zappa (Frank Zappa's son). And I have talked to Justin Hawkins (singer of The Darkness). But not sure if that counts, because he was standing on stage, and I was standing first row. I had the opportunity to met Lita Ford once. But I was stupid and did not go, I regret it so much today! I will probably never have another opportunity.
  22. I was on youtube and found this very different cover of the Rush song Time Stand Still. Not sure if I like it or not, but it's still nice.
  23. What is the sq on this record? I bought the single album MP Live back when it came out and that was a sonic disaster, so I am very reluctant to shell out dollars for this release If by sq you mean sound quality. Then I must say it's really good! Well worth the money.
