  1. THIS! Luckily most concerts I went to as a teen were general admission so no problem, but any time I went for reserved seating good tickets were always difficult.

  3. For San Jose I only saw a few decent seats on pre-sale but opted for platinum. I saw 2nd row floor one so I grabbed 2 tickets at 475.00 each. I was apprehensive until I saw the prices jack up even more for a lot further back. Just for S & G I checked the general sale and saw little.
  4. Bring earplugs...............................Although the venue supplies them too.
  5. I don't like Geddy's voice in this at all. So I say Skip.
  6. I can't tell you how happy I was to get the news that dozens of ticket brokers wound up screwing Super Bowl ticket buyers becuase they couldn't get the tickets they promised. Feel sorry for the buyers, but the whole thing is has become a gross scam. Give me back the days of waiting in line over night at the record store.... I remember being first in line at Tower Records for tickets and so I figure I'll get a great seat-WRONG! As usual the lower section in my local amphitheater no tickets available. The ticket agency was called Bass. The tickets were cheaper for sure then but but availability still was controlled.
  7. My problem is I have really bad memory issues. Someone will ask me about something I know very well and my mind will just go blank. I guess I just have problems bringing my long term memory to the present. I can't count the times I would write songs for a garage band then forget the lyrics singing them. Pretty pathetic lol. :codger:
  8. You do know we're talking about a Rush concert? :P http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/hand-gestures/dont-tell-smiley-emoticon.gif
  9. Time has definitely NOT stood still as far as ticket prices go. :eyeroll:
  10. Sorry I couldn't help myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyJNEZPm-pQ
  11. But you have to type in all your info before the time limit expires otherwise you lose your tickets and have to try again. Sure, but you have like 10 minutes. If you can't type your name and address in a box within 10 minutes there is something wrong. :D When I made my order I was getting three minute windows. That's interesting, because I got 10 minutes. Maybe it's because of ordering the Platinum tickets. Since it's more money they didn't want me to take long in deciding. Platinum? Do you mean silver or gold? :) No, Platinum is not a vip program but dynamic pricing of individual tickets for higher demand seating. It is another option that comes up on TM site.

  14. It's a sliding scale retail price of supposedly premium seats. It's another money grab but I went for it. The knife goes both ways. You can jump on it and risk prices going down or not jump on it and risk prices going up. I'm going to SAP San Jose and got section one, row 2 on Geddy's side of stage. I paid 475.00. Platinum still left at last check for row 10 was at 550.00. It's still early though so we'll see where the prices end up. The Bay Area is always expensive though so I wasn't surprised to get gouged hard.
  15. I paid hefty but at least I don't have to worry about it now. I was getting nothing on the Citi-presale but then saw the Platinum come up for availability. I am seeing the show in San Jose California at the SAP Center. I got second row in section one which is on Geddy's side 475.00. Considering this could be the last time I threw caution (and my money) to the wind.
  16. Were you Geddy or Alex of center? I was in the 2nd row right in front of Geddy for that very show! It was one of the very top rock show experiences of my life! I won't be at the S.J. show this year...hope you land that great seat, though! Rock ON! http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Rush%202012%20San%20Jose/IMG_3212.jpg I was about dead center. I was standing by the barrier on Geddy's side for a minute during opening song cause staff was getting new ear plugs for my son. It was his first big show and he needed them lol. Thanks for the good wishes. I will be there wilth a good seat, even if it kills my wallet lol. This will be a good year. I am going with my boy's to see Tommy Emmanuel next month.
  17. I had fifth row for S&A tour Concord CA in 2007. At the time I thought I was spending high at 250.00 a ticket. How times have changed. I sat upper level two shows last tour which was ok but I want to sit close for this one. Nothing on the first pre-sale but this is a marathon, not a sprint----------------unless of course you were lucky, I was not.
  18. Lorde is interesting to me. Her songs that are good are brilliant, others lack a foundation sounding like a lousy rave gathering. Her lyrics are thought invoking and have meaning. If she can expand her ideas beyond their being mixed on a computer she will have a good career to follow.
