    Rush Women

Ha Ged's voice is one of the first things that attracted me to their sound, he sings with such emotion, the pitch is countered nicely by the music, and the unusual time signatures love them, I'm not really a musician I just know what I like, and there was something about Rush that really grabbed me. I've liked them through all their phases too. There is something from every decade that I get excited about, I'm just sad I didn't get a chance to see them live sooner than I did.

    Rush Women

What is it about Rush that draws you to them? If you are a long time fan what keeps you interested? How do they compare to other bands/acts that you are a fan of? Just curious, I know why I love them and wondering if other women feel the same way or if I'm more different than I know. and you men, why are you still surprised to see women as Rush fans...well the ones I saw at concert seemed surprised a women enjoys Rush.
  4. I'm an old fan now but when I first heard the band I was 10 years old(in 1975), and no one in my family had heard of them...I'm not sure they know them now...lol.
  5. I think it is a requirement to listening to Rush, isn't it? And also playing it as loud as possible.
  6. "Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity.." Sure, there is something to be said for musical integrity, but in the end it is a business. If you can be a crappy musician and make tons of money off of it, then why not?
  7. how long ago did that quote from Neil happen...recently?
  8. I didn't but I know typically they are too busy with it being the last show on previous tours...more so this year I would think
  9. sadly or maybe excitingly I remember when 2112 was the new LP
  10. Ditto Lorraine sorry Jeff
  11. Anyone have luck from LA?
  12. I have to go with Losing it. It was my favorite song off of Signals and I had quoted it often during that time of my life. I have to say if it were not for that song I would have a hard time choosing.
  13. Dave, that is really cool, so nice for her. It is interesting that her program is not personalized. The note she wrote must have hit a cord with the boys.
  14. Both show I went to I believe were sold out
  15. I like to do a couple shows because it is almost too much to take in on one show. Plus different seats give you completely different experiences. My god man 4 times front row in open sales that is some luck right there you need to play the lottery(I loved front row but would need at least one show further back)
  16. Kia nice! Yes looks like Geddy personalized it. When I talked to Irvine they were very short with me so yeah it just might be whoever is working the mail that day
  17. I find that a lot of the songs that draw me are not popular ones, I suspect we all love the band for very different reasons.
  18. So sorry Jeff, when I called Irvine they said they didn't forward mail...I also suspect that LA being the last show of the tour(or ever) that they wouldn't be signing things. Bum luck on the other venues you tried.
  19. Indeed. Just tickets alone. :o I've noticed there are fans like this for a lot of bands not just Rush. They're so dedicated to their band that they save all their money and vacation time for when they tour. Me, i've been able to afford to see them twice each over the last three tours. Anything more than that would be pushing it financially. Ha ha I did just that and still could only afford 2 shows, I also have young kids so that complicates things with babysitting and such. I follow a chick on twitter that went to 25 or so shows.
  20. no I didn't get on board until Fly By Night, I was 10...If my parents had listened to it I might not be a Rush fan now...lol.
  21. If they were near enough I would see them play, even with no Rush songs. I love the bass, enjoyed Ged's solo album, after seeing Alex front row this tour I would love to see him play live again. Going to shows is a major hassle, I have 2 young kids and no family to watch them, so babysitter fees, ticket fees, travel, hotel, etc...it adds up.
  22. I have been checking in to see specifically to see if you got something back
  23. I agree with Xanadu, what a bummer man, it wasn't for lack of trying on your part, just bad luck I suspect, crossing fingers that LA is a miracle for you.
  24. I have a feeling some people felt that way going to see KISS back in the day....who was that band that opened for them again........
