  3. QUOTE (goose @ Oct 11 2012, 07:54 PM) QUOTE (billybobjoe1881 @ Oct 11 2012, 09:43 PM) It would go in a frame above my fireplace in my living room. I wouldn't even bother putting it in the man cave with my other RUSH stuff. I would mount it as well...but far from my fireplace! $8,000 right now. If I actually used my fireplace it wouldn't be near it.

  10. QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Oct 9 2012, 09:23 AM) QUOTE (Dscrapre @ Oct 9 2012, 09:09 AM) "We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction." - http://rockhall.com/inductees/induction-process/ Ok, so now that we have this here, lets review these critics reasoning for not wanting Rush in the RRHOF: 1. Pretentious Lyrics 2. Geddy's Voice 3. Un-Danceable I'm pretty sure that was all of them. Now, what then hell did any of that have to do with the hall of fame criteria? Basically they said "We don't like them, so they are unimportant". Face the facts guys: Rush has influenced countless musicians including critical darlings like the Foo Fighters. Their body of work is nearly unequaled in both size and consistency of quality. Rush has existed for nearly 40 years and has released 20 albums. Clockwork Angels, album #20, was almost universally praised by critics and fans a like and has had a great chart presence. Rush's music is innovative, combining full-fledged progressive rock productions with hard rock, metal and new wave genres. Lyrically, they've tackled a very wide variety of topics, not just the usual cliche's of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. They've delved into fantasy and scientific topics as well. The instrumental virtuosity of the musicians is also considered to be near the top of the rock spectrum, with all three members being regularly cited as among the best players of their instruments. The Sex Pistols, a band that released one album, could barely play their instruments and hilariously exploded in a heap of their own hubris and excess, now that's a real band. Un-Danceable?! Sometimes in my super secret world I'm a exotic dancer and Vital Signs is my main song! That's a dance we need to see.

  13. I was in Edmonton to see RUSH last Sunday and my hotel room number was 2112. When the hostess person told me the room number I screamed Holy Shit that's amazing and gave him a hug.
  14. If the Clockworks Angels posters they were selling at the concerts were rolled up I would of bought one. I don't want to carry a big ass poster around the arena with me.
  15. QUOTE (Chicken hawk @ Oct 8 2012, 06:06 AM) Im never to far from a RUSH concert when they visit either . I have under 3 hours . So i cant imagine traveling the way some of you do. The first show huh? Wow you will be Stunned, and hypnotized. It will also be a hard decision what T-Shirt to buy! Have a fantastic adventure ! Why decide which shirt to get? This was my first show in 6 years of being a fan and I bought 5.
  16. Geddy Lee has a high pitched voice. F*** that. Have you heard anything from the synth era onward.
  17. If ABBA and Madonna can get in before KISS or Rush it's a joke.
  18. Check your PM's I want some of your stuff.
  19. It's like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time. While walking and chewing gum. While hopping on one foot.
  20. I got into RUSH in 2006. The only versions I heard were the remasters and they sound awesome. Are you guys telling me there are better versions of these songs out their?
  21. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Oct 4 2012, 07:16 AM) QUOTE (Gemari77 @ Oct 4 2012, 09:38 AM) The problem comes in when tickets are purchased months in advance, and you have no idea that the band is going to ignore almost all of their most well known songs. That's going to happen with older bands that are still making new music, still experimenting, still striving to keep their careers fresh and exciting. One can buy tickets to a KISS concert a year in advance and know exactly what will be played. Can't do that with Rush or any other band that's still putting out new music. Kiss is releasing a new album on tuesday.
  22. He beat out Dimebag and Iommi. Eddie Van Halen should be an easy victory.
  23. I'm also gonna have to check out that movie. That guy described me perfectly.
  24. QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Sep 29 2012, 10:39 AM) One more point -- of course, dumping a beer on someone is unacceptable and calling them out as a boor is perfectly acceptable. It's also obvious. What else is unacceptable is telling some in front of you who is rocking out to sit down so you can soak up every tiny nuance. That's also interfering woth someone else's experience. Tit for tat, and all that. Telling people to sit down, and pouring beer on them goes hand in hand. I didn't sit during Tom Sawyer because it's Tom Mother F***ing Sawyer. I had a guy dump a beer on me before getting kicked out of the building. It Is What It Is and RUSH is amazing live.
  25. My hotel room this weekend to see RUSH in Edmonton was 2112.
