I always thought it was too long, and that the string section felt too much like padding. Also reminded my of the Xanadu-esque guitar section in the middle of The Count of Tuscany (which is otherwise really awesome, cheesy lyrics be damned). String section works better when you see it live on the new DVD. then again i'm the odd duck who likes strings in a rock show, lol. Love it every time. Mick

it's wonderful live and i love it but my only complaint is it does not sound like a uniform epic.........just stitched pieces.......but i guess you can argue that's what an epic is really, lol Mick It's a great song aside from being too episodic, as you kind of just said. This may not be something that people say about Dream Theater songs often, but this one needed more Labrie. Nothing needed to be cut out, it just needed a little bit more to be put in. Hey many fans don't like Labrie......i do. he is a bit much but i like that about his style. So more Labrie is fine by me. Mick

NO. For the 18 milliionth f*cking time. No one is suggesting to get rid of anyone. But your all for having another singer? Have you read any of my posts??? At all??? YES. And the band would still be the same. (Where have I heard that before). My suggestion was simply to bring a singer on tour (only), to sing a few older songs that Geddy apparently can't sing any more. And Geddy would still sing most of the songs.(I know I've said that at least three times already). Geez. For me they're just a criminally underrated band.......people hear the ballads and they think the know. Just the debut alone. I think lots of bands would have killed to have written. Mick

Cover band playing Toto hits? Lame. And they aren't. I read an interview somewhere that said as much... In all honesty, why the band ever thought he was a better lead than Lukather I will never know. i just used to watch them interact on stage. they'd barely look at each other. Steve and Joe though love each other. Lukather always lights up when he talks about Joe, lol Mick

Last i heard from kimball he was touring with a faceless band playing Toto hits, lol Wonder if the split was bitter. I just get the feeling.....and i could be wrong......that Kimball and Lukather are not fond of each other. Mick
