  1. It's Rush, so I'll be happy nonetheless, but if I had to choose, I'd pick the song(s) that I'm not burnt out on.
  2. QUOTE (Snaked @ Oct 26 2012, 09:06 PM) WOW. If they drop Middletown in Cleveland I'll be seriously bummed. +1000

Looking forward to getting a "fuller" view of the show this time around. I'm in sec 100, same as last year but down lower really excellent sound and complete full view of stage. Hey, I've never been to this arena before. Since you have, can you tell me how Cleveland Rush fans are about standing while not in the floor section? Will I have to contain myself on Sunday? Well, all I can tell you is about my own experience. Last year up in the nose bleed in sec 100, I stood off and on most in upper tier didn't stand. Didn't get any backlash when i did, but some woman sitting in front of me was complaining I was to loud. My wife told her off and better yet her boyfriend agree with my wife told her it's a rock concert .And then he was cheering just as loud as i was!! Bet that was a long ride home for someone!! Thanks. I guess I'll work with what I got. But when those Power Windows songs come on, I might have to risk getting beer thrown at me
  4. It would be funny if somebody who was googling "The Cleveland Show" got directed to this thread.

  7. Okay, thanks. Would you also mind telling me which state it came from? I'm under the impression that they're being mailed from California.
  8. Eaglemoon: did they give you a tracking number? Do you live in the eastern side of this country? What letter does your last name start with? I'm asking because I was under the impression that they were shipping in order of the shows and mine was 9 days before yours, so I'm just trying to figure out the actual order that they may be shipping our goodies. My last name begins with a W, so I hope they're not going alphabetically. Edit: Then again, which date did the Columbus VIPNation tix go on sale? The Pittsburgh presale for VIPnation started on April 30.
  9. 22 in '75. The Holy Trinity had released Fly By Night and Caress of Steel and embarked on the "Down the Tubes" Tour. Also, just found out that Caress of Steel was released on my -15th birthday.
  10. QUOTE (cygnify @ Oct 23 2012, 10:12 AM) Either they are using the slowest shipping outfit on the planet, or they are completely full of shit. Probably both.
  11. Hey, I'm definitely going to this, but do you know what tix are going to be at the door?
  12. To the OP: You're no weirder than me at least. After going to the Pittsburgh show last month and finding out that I lucked out with a front row seat right in front of Alex, I was rocking out to just about every song, but those "deep cuts" like "Territories," "Grand Designs," "Analog Kid," etc. got just a tad bit more energy in the fist pump than the others. Sometimes I'm not sure, though. Do I like those songs more because I TRULY like them more, or do I enjoy hearing them more because I'm not burnt out on them like the other staples? I'll enjoy Rush no matter what they play, but even after having gone to only 2 Rush concerts so far (3rd coming up in Cleveland), I wouldn't mind not hearing some of the "staples" again. But if (and when) I do hear them, fine, but I'll always get more animated (another song I wish I could hear them play) for the rarities that I never thought I'd be able to hear in this day and age of classic rock/metal bands going out on greatest hit cash-grab tours.
  13. QUOTE (drgrendel @ Oct 17 2012, 03:19 PM) QUOTE (TheWK90 @ Oct 17 2012, 02:15 PM) Hell, I went to the 9/11 Pittsburgh show and still haven't received my stuff. But you got da sticks!!!!!!!! Yeah... that's true

  15. I would've been thrilled to go to Cleveland with you and split the costs of everything, but I've already bought a Greyhound ticket. I don't drive, so I don't know too much about gas prices, tolls and parking prices, but my Greyhound ticket only cost me 30 bucks. Maybe that's cheaper than using your car this time around?
  16. I'm also glad to see that Rush has finally been nominated, but lets be honest here: with them competing against big rock and roll acts such as NWA, Public Enemy and Donna Summer, the chances of Rush actually getting in are VERY, VERY slim.
  17. I FINALLY saw it on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network just now!!! Pretty cool.
  18. When you get kicked out of a bar/concert venue (not a Rush concert) for singing Tom Sawyer too loud.
  19. QUOTE (jp_page_too @ Sep 26 2012, 11:57 AM) For me my job is not what I do. It's not what gets me up each day. I get up and work so that I can indulge my true obsession in life and that obsession is music, live music. That's EXACTLY how I feel.
  20. QUOTE (The Mighty Dudad @ Sep 25 2012, 08:25 AM) So, it has been a week and a half since I spent 3 amazing hours with the best rock band in the world and 10,000 or so of my closest friends at the United Center. Everything about the show was fantastic. Great set list, the band was "en fuego", the crowd was loud and appreciative, the production was killer. ...so why am I in a post-concert funk?? Seems to happen to me everytime I see Rush. Actually, that's not quite true. It really has only been happening the last 10 years, since the Vapor Trails tour. Prior to that, I don't recall ever feeling down after seeing them. Yes, I realize that Rush is just a rock band, and that this as all a bit silly. That said, I've been a rock music fan since I was 11 or so...a good 37 years now. No band, NO BAND, has ever played a more significant and constant role in my life over all those years than Rush. My amateur psychologist wife says it's because at this stage of their career, I go into the concert thinking, subconsciously or not, that this may well be the last time I see them. While that feeling helps drive my anticipation and enjoyment of the concert itself, it also fuels the funk the follows. "That may have been the last time I ever see this band live" is a pretty powerful feeling. I'm sure she is absolutely correct (she usually is... ). Am I the only crazy person? Although it's not a true cure, I can write you a prescription for a ROAD TRIP!!! Take one everytime Rush is playing a show. Unfortunately, I don't think this medication is covered under any health insurance plan, so it will be a little pricey. But yeah, I understand what you mean. Concerts and music are pretty much my life. I don't really even go out unless I'm going to one. I love the buildup, the anticipation of knowing one of my favorite bands is going to play a show and when it's over and the euphoria wears off, it's like "Now what?" Plus, I also know what you mean when you say you think that this might be the last time they play. Being only 22, I missed out on seeing a lot of the bands I listen to live. I listen to a lot of "classic rock and metal." So that in itself pains me, and then when I think, "Damn, I may only see this band once," that gets to me, too. Damn, who is going to be around in 2030 when I'm 40? If I ever have children, which concerts will I take them too and say, "You'll love these guys. I saw them when I was younger."? I think about this stuff when I see people with their kids at concerts. I may never get to have that experience. But as far as NOW goes, I couldn't deal with the PCD (post concert depression), so I booked a trip to Cleveland in addition to my hometown show
