  1. I've been thinking about this very thing recently actually. I've always had the greatest respect for Geddy as both a bassist and vocalist, but not until just recently, I think it was CA that did it actually, that I was listening to, and it hit me, how freaking different the bass and vocal melodies are and how awesome they are individually, and that it is the same guy doing them at the same freaking time. For whatever reason it took CA to make me really appreciate him even more, which I had already thought impossible. Its funny, I had of course known that he does both jobs amazingly but never REALLY realized how completely epic that is, given the technical complexity and variety between the two.
  2. Seems like a LOT of albums are going to go ignored....not that this is an anniversary tour, but still
  3. Was considering this myself.....this might be a stupid question but I honestly don't know....how do you go about providing return postage/packaging for say a CD? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!
  4. I think a key difference though was that for Time Machine, it was announced far in advance they would be playing all of Moving Pictures, which was confirmation for The Camera Eye. That was a big deal. This tour we haven't really had anything epic confirmed yet. Yes, they are probably 99.9% likely to play Headlong Flight and Clockwork Angels, among other CA songs, which will be epic......its just nice to hear some official word. Your average Joe has NO idea there will actually be a string section yet. Anyway.....looking forward to hearing what the setlist is! I'm sure they will deliver as always, its just that there's so many possibilities with this band with their huge catalog of music!
  5. I would love to hear Fly By Night more than anything. I honestly don't know what the reasoning for not playing it is, but I'd love to hear it any form. As far as Geddy singing it, I don't see why it couldn't be reworked in some way (like CttH on Time Machine), I know they could make it work somehow. Even part of a medley without vocals, I would just have the biggest grin on my face to finally hear the opening guitar riff and drum fills.
  6. Yes! This is one of the songs I'm hoping for very much.
  7. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Aug 10 2012, 02:44 PM) This is from Rush is a Band: QUOTE Some tour setlist rumors are also finally starting to trickle in. The latest bit of news I've heard is that the band plans on playing all of the Clockwork Angels album minus Caravan and BU2B, both of which were thoroughly covered back on the Time Machine tour. I've also heard the unsurprising news that 5 songs from Moving Pictures will be included in the setlist. I hope not. I hope they don't drop two of the best songs on the album. If they really need to drop something, drop a couple of songs from MP. 5 songs? Come on, They covered that pretty well oN TTMT as well. Limelight, Tom Sawyer and YYZ would have sufficed. Well, Unless the other two are Red Barchetta and The Camera Eye? Probably not! Probably Red Barchetta and Witch Hunt! Regardless, I'm not to psyched about this little piece of Information. I'm sorry but that is the worst rumor I've heard yet. It makes ZERO sense to not play two of the first "singles" from the album, especially since a lot of people attending this tour may not have seen Time Machine, and didn't hear Caravan and BU2B until CA came out, and then to go to the CA tour and not hear those songs....I don't think so. Playing 5 songs off MP is just the icing on the cake to this rumor. I know you didn't start this rumor, but I'm just saying, its pretty ridiculous. Oh, and I'm incredibly, incredibly mad at whoever did that kimono picture.....I'm sorry but I really fell for that, I mean not only is it a freakin kimono but the clockwork theme and colors! It looks like it was made for this reason, not to mention with the question of what will the orchestra wear? This would have been perfect and epic! I'm now going to be disappointed to see what the orchestra really is wearing
  8. I thought I was burned out on it, after listening to it for 2 weeks straight, so I stopped. Literally after one day of not listening to it I had to go back. This album is like crack. Now I am at the point where I AM burned out on listening to the whole album, but I HAVE to have it mixed in my Rush playlist (set on random). This way I get a song from it once in a while and I am learning to appreciate the songs standing alone from the rest of the album. But yes, I do find myself scrolling through my playlist until a CA song comes up quite often now.
  9. It just emphasizes the guitar riff, I think its great the way it is.
  10. Hmmm...I guess I'm in the minority on this topic. I think adding the strings to some older songs could be great. Think about it, we're all for the most part sick of some of the same songs that we know they will be playing, like Tom Sawyer. This could give those songs a much needed spicing up. I'm not saying every song, but I think strings on Tom Sawyer at least would be interesting. Also, maybe just to use as a fake intro, say on TSOR, strings playing that intro riff at a slower tempo for a while, then cut out and Alex rips it at full speed to kick it off. Point is, I'm sure Rush will be creative with it and not make any songs cheesy because of it.
  11. Dying to hear Test For Echo live, but there's plenty on this album I'd be happy with.
  12. Honestly....Chemistry. I would love to hear Analog Kid as well, but after listening to some live versions I feel it isn't as great as I would have hoped live...but then again maybe they can pull it off better these days. Anyway, I'm surprised at the lack of love for Chemistry, that song has really grown on me and I think they could perform it amazingly. Also, it kind of goes with the theme of Clockwork Angels....alchemy...chemistry (yes I realize the lyrics are about the other kind of chemistry, but still!) ?
  13. I'd be torn between Prime Mover or Turn the Page. Lock and Key gets runner up.
  14. 1. Caravan 2. Headlong Flight 3. BU2B I love all three, but Caravan has been an instant favorite since I first heard it. That song has everything.
