  1. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ May 23 2012, 02:14 AM) QUOTE (Alexmai @ May 23 2012, 02:57 AM) In my opinion, we need one official thread for every song (or two, for music and lyrics? ). Plus one with track-by-track reviews. Me and GG have actually discussed that. A pinned thread for each of the new songs. Would people confine their opinions to those threads? Or would they feel restricted and want to start new ones? Good luck, people will still create threads because their opinion is obviously the best and it'd be a shame to post their wonderful opinion that people will overlook in a 10+ page thread. It's gotta be ON TOP, DAMMIT!
  2. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ May 23 2012, 12:16 AM) QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ May 23 2012, 12:56 AM) QUOTE (USB Connector @ May 22 2012, 10:56 PM) I'm hoping they'll play Vapor Trail. They've never played it and Ged could definitely sing it perfectly. That's why I'm also holding out for Everyday Glory. Ged could nail it, easily. It's a sad yet inspirational song, and I think it could rock live. Even though I often consider it my favorite song, I SWEAR I am not biased in any way If the future's looking dark We're the ones who have to shine If there's no one in control We're the ones who draw the line Though we live in trying times We're the ones who have to try Though we know that time has wings We're the ones who have to fly I was just listening to that song and it's a lot better than I remember / people seem to give it credit for. Geddy's vocal performance is top-notch, and the lyrics are excellent. Glad to see someone agree

QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ May 22 2012, 01:26 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ May 22 2012, 02:23 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ May 22 2012, 02:21 PM) Rush has an album coming out ? Yes, it's called "Feedback II," and this time they cover songs by all the recent RRHOF inductees. Awesome! Do you think they'll do some newer material such as "LUV MADONNA" or maybe dust off an old classic like "Material Girl"? Imagine Rush doing a cover of Sabotage. I actually think that'd be kinda awesome. As long as they do NO OTHER songs by the Beastie Boys.
  6. I just can't wait to read all the hater comments. That's my entertainment.

  8. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ May 22 2012, 08:43 PM) I had some boredom at work, so I made a quick stab at my top 75. I realized just now that I forgot about the three songs from Clockwork Angels, so consider my list to only go up to and include Snakes & Arrows. This is roughly the order, though I got a bit lazy/sloppy at the end: Marathon Emotion Detector Bravado Middletown Dreams Between The Wheels The Weapon Subdivisions The Analog Kid Prime Mover Cut To The Chase The Spirit of Radio We Hold On Open Secrets The Fountain of Lamneth Kid Gloves Far Cry Witch Hunt Second Nature Mystic Rhythms Face Up Ghost of A Chance Presto Available Light Chemistry Madrigal The Body Electric Time Stand Still Leave That Thing Alone Chain Lightning Distant Early Warning Lock And Key Dreamline Resist The Enemy Within Turn The Page Mission Limelight Freewill Tom Sawyer Scars Closer To The Heart Neurotica Entre Nous Stick It Out Red Tide Grand Designs Making Memories A Farewell To Kings Cold Fire Between Sun & Moon Different Strings The Necromancer Here Again Countdown Vital Signs The Camera Eye Xanadu Natural Science 2112 Cygnus X-1 Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres Territories Half The World The Larger Bowl Spindrift One Little Victory Something For Nothing Fly By Night The Speed Of Love Double Agent Beneath, Between, and Behind Tears Cinderella Man War Paint The Way The Wind Blows Glad to see some love for Second Nature! I completely forgot about that tune when I made my list
  9. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ May 22 2012, 01:05 AM) Are you sure the list is correct? I could have sworn that I saw Open Secrets played live during the HYF tour. That's the list I got from the Power Windows site, so I'm assuming it's correct
  10. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ May 21 2012, 08:48 PM) Not from a DVD, but it looks to me like Geddy flips off the entire arena at the end of Presto in Hershey, PA, though I don't remember it that way when I was at that show! 5:44 in this vid. Wtf Geddy, I thought you liked your fans!
  11. Sorry, but it's already been posted http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=74156
  12. QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ May 21 2012, 10:10 PM) Not really criticizing your thread but they've done this every single tour now for a while so we didn't really need Alex to tell us this. Plus, no matter what they might be considering now a whole lot of it won't survive rehearsals. Of all the older songs they haven't played the only one I consider realistic would be Different Strings. Now, they could certainly (and likely will) play at least one more old song that hasn't been played in ages like maybe Something For Nothing or In the End but out of that list Different Strings is the only one up through about Vapor Trails that I can see them playing. If they play something like Different Strings and add something that hasn't been played since it was new like The Enemy Within or Prime Mover I'd consider that freaking awesome. Vapor Trail would be a good choice and is realistic but I just can't see them playing any of the vast majority of that list, even Cut to the Chase. I'd love to hear it though. True, I guess reading that interview just sparked my interest in which unplayed songs they'll bring out. I know quite a few of them definitely won't happen (TFOL, Tears, etc) but it's always fun to imagine. I'd say maybe 10 of those on the list are true possibilities.
  13. EDIT: This probably should be in the tour section, my bad Well, Alex basically confirmed in the interview in snowdog2112's thread that they're considering busting out a few tracks never heard live before. QUOTE (Alex)We`ve been throwing about set lists for the last couple of weeks and the length of the set is creeping up to over 4 hours so we`ll have to reign it in and fine tune it. There`ll be a good portion of new material and some older stuff that we`ll be revisiting that you haven`t heard in a long time. There`s also a couple that we haven`t played live before that we`re thinking about doing. There`s quite a few in contention for the final set list. Say they'll play three previously unheard songs. Which songs would you love to hear? Also, what do you think they WILL play? I really want to hear Everyday Glory, Open Secrets, and Vapor Trail. My guess is that they actually will play Vapor Trail and Cut to the Chase. Not sure why I have this gut feeling Vapor Trail will be busted out Here's the full list: Take A Friend Before And After Making Memories Rivendell The Fountain Of Lamneth Lessons Tears Madrigal Different Strings Losing It Emotion Detector Open Secrets Second Nature Tai Shan High Water Chain Lighting Anagram Red Tide Hand Over Fist Available Light Face Up The Big Wheel Heresy Neurotica You Bet Your Life Cut To The Chase Alien Shore Speed Of Love Everyday Glory The Color Of Right Totem Dog Years Carve Away The Stone Peaceable Kingdom The Stars Look Down How It Is Vapor Trail Sweet Miracle Nocturne Freeze Out Of The Cradle Bravest Face Good News First We Hold On
