QUOTE (marblesmike @ Jun 12 2012, 07:08 PM) To be fair it's pretty bad but not unbearable. Someone ran a dynamic range test on it and it had a DR6 rating... That's pretty bad. Meanwhile, the vinyl has a DR11 rating. Who's unarmed now? For the record I love the album; I just wish it didn't give me a headache every time I want to crank it :-) Please explain for those of us who don't know: is a higher number better or worse?

    Lol my stepdad...

I have to agree with Treken's stepdad somewhat. With every new Rush album I listen to the new one then go back and listen to every previous album and then listen to the new release again. Clockwork Angels musically is amazing, thrilling and inspiring...but the overall mix is somewhat dense as is the case with VT and S&A. Compare the last three albums sonically with RTB, CP and TE ... the most recent three releases just aren't as clear sounding, but maybe that's by design. I've been a Rush fan ever since I got CoS for Christmas in 1975 when I was 15 years old, so I have a little bit of experience listening to Rush.

If you adopt the rule "Would I really be able to say this to someone's face?" truthfully, internet forums would be a much nicer place. I don't get the desire of some to come to sites like this for no other reason than to spew negativity. A (far) cry for attention perhaps? I'll say Rush have been shit for 25 years to anybody's face, including the band. Mosbach thought he could stop me spewing my negativety and gave up. If I really did meet up with Peart or the band I'd be the model of courtesy, cos I'm English and nobody does good manners like English "Old-Rush" fans... Yeah, right

    For those who rock

Play for yourself because you enjoy it, don't worry about the rest. I play drums, but I suck - I also don't care! I play because it's fun for me, takes my mind off other things for awhile. Branch out and learn some other stuff, some simple stuff that you can just wail on and let go!

    Rush And Triumph

I like both bands, but really, your dad should stop sniffing paint.
