  1. This can't be the lyrics, the line about stoking the fires of the steel wheels is missing.

    Rush.com updated

Yea all of that has been posted already. Gotta be quick around here!
  3. QUOTE QUOTE (Merely Space @ Apr 12 2012, 08:30 AM) Wish I had the equipment to truly enjoy this. That's what she said!!
  4. QUOTE I think you guys are missing the point. That image is totally Photoshopped. It's as plain as day. It's actually a picture of Nickelback. I thought it was the Three Stooges?
  5. I liked Retro3 for two reasons: the VT remixes and the bonus DVD of their Atlantic videos. That's it, I already had all the other songs, but I have really dug the videos, even if they can be cheesy, but just seeing the band with the songs, it's cool.
  6. My wife likes the length of The Watchmaker, she said it was just long enough ...
  7. All of these CoS comparisons are making me have crazy thoughts -- like, is this the band's attempt at maybe a "do-over" on CoS?? Would that not be strange? I can hear them now: "Yea, our whole career since 2112 has been about finally achieving the sound we really wanted on CoS but were still too young and inexperienced to actually achieve. We always believed in that record and dammit, here's how it was SUPPOSED to sound!" Okay .... Maybe not.
  8. QUOTE If it is the real deal I'm sure it contains some misheard lyrics. This one stands out the most: "human's always win" Really? Does that sound like Neil? Yea its really "Hunan's always win" -- its a Chinese cuisine reference.
  9. Kind of figured it might be bogus.
  10. QUOTE Some lyrics for HF made it to the web....... http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rush/headlong...t_21013313.html Where's the line about stoking the fires of the steel wheels or whatever?

QUOTE And I really like the enthusiasm he seems to evoke from the guys. And this.

I like Nick R -- being a fan can have its drawbacks but at the same time I think it's been helpful as well. It is a balance. I feel he is the best producer they have had, along with Terry Brown and Peter Collins. It's one reason I get so frustrated with S&A because sonically I really like it, but the songs leave a LOT to be desired (for me anyway); and it's why I am so pumped for CA -- seems that the songwriting is great and the sound is great, based on what he have thus far anyway. The synergy of good sound and good songwriting could be coming our way, and I'm excited! So yea, I am a Nick R fan.
  13. I will get it if it is! It would be awesome!
  14. I'm loving the sample we have of HF -- my wife and I are both Rush fans and we huddled around and listened to the sample and at the end smiled, then we were both like -- "Aw - more! More!" This clip bodes well for the album as a whole. I have been holding back my hopes and excitement (as much as I could) until I heard the clip, and after hearing it, and also loving Caravan and BU2B, I am finally allowing myself to get fired up! So let the freakin' party begin!!!!!! As for the cover, yea its a little lame. But you know, so was Counterparts. And Counterparts is one of my all time faves. So you know, I like nice album covers, but at the end of the day its about the music.

  16. I dont know what to think of the symphony rumor if its true. Most bands who do shows with a symphony come off sounding lame and ... I dont know, watered down. The music doesn't have the same punch. So ... hm. I dunno. I would still go see them, but I dont think it would be the same. On the other hand, maybe its not for the whole show? Its possible they could be planning something like that for one segment of the show only ... like maybe on Signals?? You know, "Losing It" has that electric violin... maybe they are planning a symphonic Signals?? Now, if they do that, just for that album... I think I could tolerate it more. But for a whole show?? Or maybe its not for Signals, but for stuff like Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato ... the "epic" stuff? But honestly, if I found out that the entire concert was being done with a symphony I would probably be less enthused. In fact, I think it would definitely lessen the experience. Yea, I would be disappointed for sure.
  17. QUOTE 7. It'd be an 8 if the mix was better and The Stars Look Down was cut. Holy crap its like you read my mind!
  18. Thanks Alex for the linky -- I figured I could go there and see it, I was just being lazy!
  19. I was only ten or eleven when the New World Tour ran back in the day -- wish I'd been there! For those who went: what did they play?
  20. If they do all of Signals, you won't get any complaints from me. I've always loved The Analog Kid, The Weapon, Countdown and New World Man. It would almost be like seeing them on the New World Tour, cause I was too young back then first time around ... Seeing MP was awesome. I mean, of all their albums Signals is a damn good choice. It could be worse, they could opt for HYF.

    Next Album Live

I too would love to hear more of VT live -- Vapor Trail, Nocturne, Sweet Miracle, plus Secret Touch and One Little Victory...
  22. I hope you're right -- I've been patient this long because of the rumors pointing to this week being the week we learn some official news. I personally think it will not be a new single, but a sample. If it were a single, I think it would hit on Tuesday, not Friday. If we get to the weekend and we still haven't heard anything I think I will just throw my hands up in frustration and just forget about it until May. All of the build up and anticipation and discussion is a fun part of the whole "new release" process but its getting silly now. Ready for some official news.

    Caravan

Show Don't Tell -- its the first thing that jumped to mind when I heard it myself.
  24. This was easy for me -- Cut to the Chase, with Vapor Trails a close 2nd. Trying to be realistic here -- some of those we ain't ever gonna hear live!
