  2. Her A-Rod beat my Angels Saturday! Then again, the Angels kind of beat themselves because they can't even beat the flippin' Royals or Rays this week! Rant aside, Bad Teacher looks hilarious.
  3. Smashing Pumpkins/Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Outkast/Speakerboxxx The Love Below The Clash/London Calling Elvis Costello/Very Best Of - The beginning of me getting into classic alternative rock when I started college just over a decade ago and a much needed outlet from the frat boy junk that was dominating alternative stations at the time. Pearl Jam's Ten and STP's Core (tie) - Got both at same time for Xmas 93 and it was the beginning of me listening to alternative music and I haven't looked back. My Kriss Kross/Color Me Badd/BoyzIIMen days were over.
  4. Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out Yep, that Rocky IV montage song.
  5. I was listening to some Guns N Roses song off Use Your Illusion. 2nd post was my intro thread.
  6. December 1980 If we're talking about altering history, do whatever I can to prevent Chapman from killing Lennon.
  7. If any Coens movie is disappointing, it's Intolerable Cruelty.
  8. To hell with Chuck Norris facts. Clint can make Chuckie squirm with just one trademark scowl.
  9. QUOTE (In A Tidewater Surge @ Jun 1 2011, 12:58 AM) But all punk rock is shit The Clash would like to have a word with you, boy.
  10. Ernest movies played a big part in my childhood. Saw them in theatres and many times on Showtime back in the day.
  11. Even more exciting than usual for me since I just recently got into 80s era Queen in the past month. Too bad I don't get that channel so I'll have to wait and hope for Netflix.
  12. Huell Howser ftw. California Gold is awesome. Can't go wrong with Austin City Limits and Artists Den either. Still pissed that my affiliate (KCET) took Tavis Smiley off. I'm stuck with his podcasts now.
  13. Just came back from it. My favorite scene is the bickering at the jewelry store. "You're a little c--t!"
  14. QUOTE (fledgehog @ May 27 2011, 02:27 PM) QUOTE (invisible airwave @ May 27 2011, 02:34 PM) Ray LaMontagne - Trouble damn, nice tune to have stuck in your head! Just saw him on Artists Den on PBS this week and I hear that song a lot in some commercial. Wilson Philips - Hold On Yep, I saw Bridesmaids.
  15. I don't care if you think Collins or Gabriel era is better, Mama is a badass song. Abacab is my favorite album of the Collins era though
  16. Sad to see Showtime cancel US of Tara. I've only seen season 1 so far.
  17. I love old school rap and hip hop so it's music to me, especially hip hop with live instruments and a jazzy vibe to it.
  18. Rock and Roll History class just finished for me today. All I had to do was do 5 of 6 essay questions as a take home assignment from last week. One more final on Monday and in that class we're just watching our projects. It's a broadcast (my major) class. Found out this week that the last 3 I have to take to get my certificate are offered next Fall. Par-tay over here!
  19. This is one of the rare times when both versions are nearly just as equally good. Such a shame that the remake didn't do well. I guess audiences prefer their vampires sparkly and PG13 friendly. Their loss.
  20. As far as tears of joy though, it's the scene in Awakenings where DeNiro is reunited with his mom after waking up.
  21. The end of The Deer Hunter always gets to me.
