  1. This comes after I've had brain cancer, and my mom is currently partially paralyzed from a surgery gone wrong. My dad is not leaving for any of those reasons, he's just finally sick of being in a loveless marriage with my mom and he does not believe there is anything to reconcile. I've always known my parents didn't have a normal marriage, but it's been just recently that I found out how bad it truly is. Dad's not happy and I guess I don't really blame him, but it just doesn't make this any easier for me to deal with. They've been married for 25 years.
  2. People my age generally have very sucky taste in music. So here I am. I'm 18, looking for a nice looking male Rush fan ages 18-24ish who can tolerate the fact that I am a diehard and hopefully share some of the enthusiasm. Sense of humor and sarcasm are a must. Also I am the drum tech for a HUGE forthcoming Rush tribute band, and as I type this our drum set is currently being lathed, vibrafibed, painted and gold plated to match Neil's candy apple red Tamas. The detail is sick!!! So if you understood any of that, chances are we might be a decent match lol.
  3. Well I was born in the middle of the Counterparts tour so I guess that's my album.
  4. QUOTE (goose @ Sep 9 2012, 06:10 PM) So, to those that have posted with fervor against buying boot merch: Do you hold the same stance when it comes to bootleg concert recording? I don't because it's not commercially available material. I still buy all of Rush's albums that are released. The golden rule of concert bootlegs is that no one should ever buy or sell them because THAT would be considered making a profit on something that you didn't create, which is wrong. So yes I can see the moral dilemma of sharing a band's work, commercial or non-commercial, but if the band ever came out and said "Hey, no more trading of bootlegs." I would stop. The band and management knows that no bootleg will ever be able to completely capture the quality of their own releases so I really don't think they care that much. I'm sure they're not thrilled about it, but if it's encouraging people to go see their shows and buy their records without costing anything or anyone else making a profit, then who's it really hurting?? Just my two cents. I'm not bashing haters either, I understand both sides. Peace!! Rush On!!
  5. QUOTE (skullchrist @ Sep 5 2012, 02:02 PM) I thought I would pass on this interesting little tidbit. http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/...ol-show-651803/ I've bought a couple bootleg shirts in my life but never a Rush one. I know bands make their money off merch these days but I think it's a little extreme. IMHO, I prefer to believe this is a management decision and not a band one. Note: I didn't create this as a Rush bashing post. Please take your hate some where else. Well with music piracy at an all time high they have to control any market that they can. Since bands are basically only making money by touring nowadays, they have to make sure that nothing is taking away from that.
  6. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 7 2012, 08:38 PM) This is truly a set list for the diehard fans. The people who are going just for the hits are gonna be pissed Yeah especially since Tom Sawyer and SoR are the encore!!!
  7. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Sep 6 2012, 08:59 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 6 2012, 08:12 PM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Sep 6 2012, 08:08 PM) "Nobody's Hero", no thank you. If this is true, they picked one of the few songs I definitely don't want to hear. It has strings, that's why they picked it! Does it say strings on the album notes? String samples, more likely. Triggered through the Korg Pedals etc...
  8. QUOTE (farcryoverspilledmilk @ Sep 6 2012, 12:39 PM) Just had breakfast with a journalist for the Union Leader Newspaper and a fellow Rush fan. Here is what was relayed to me with regards to the set list. The band has made the decision to rehearse the entire record and leave the options open this round to drop 2 and put 2 songs in. The complete record will not be performed on a nightly basis. Manhattan Project, Marathon, and Nobody's Hero are in the set. Other songs that have been part of the rehearsals with strings outside of the CA songs include Losing It, Second Nature, Spirit of Radio, 2112, and Animate. OMG. So excited, I've always wanted to hear Losing It Live!!! I also love the Manhattan Project, Nobody's Hero (I bet they are playing it for Andrew) and Second Nature should be interesting as well. I am very excited, it sounds like we are in for a real treat!!

    Headlong Flight

Interesting... I haven't heard it yet but I will definitely keep an ear out for it next time I listen...
  10. Yeah for some reason after listening to this CD every time I'm in my car (a lot) for the whole summer, Clockwork Angels is one that I haven't really gotten "bored" of yet, not that the album is boring it's just that I've listened to it so many times. But yeah it's just one of those songs that really sticks out to me every time. Headlong Flight has a similar effect as well.
  11. It is for sure them, it is posted on Neil's website, except I went to check their feed today and they've managed to get themselves suspended from twitter somehow... lol! I don't know how or why lol but it should be an interesting story...
  12. Yeah I understand that. I think Geddy hit his most attractive era starting in Test for Echo tour to now. He still looks great!! Age has been good to him
  13. I'm 18 and I love them!!! I love the music, lyrics, personalities, and they're all hot!! haha
