  1. Rush fans should rejoice - this is Neil actually feeling sad over a tour ending and feeling sentimental about an album. There was no new information here yet he felt compelled to rewrite the same thing about how the album was made that he's spoken about and posted about and written about countless times before. That speaks volumes. And since when does Neil EVER write entirely about Rush in his blog? I heard that the guys were in the best spirits they've been in at the end of a tour in forever and this backs that up. They're clearly going to take a break but I think we see them sooner than later. Late 2014 or early 2015.
  2. Ever think we'd see the day where fans are pissed because they can't accurately predict which songs Rush is going to play at the next show? :)
  3. Jacob's Ladder was originally in the mix for the Time Machine tour - along with several other less than novel selections (One Little Victory, Mal Nar, The Larger Bowl) but dropped during rehearsals. A Farewell to Kings was considered for one of the last couple of tours. There were too many considered for this tour at one time or another to even go into. For Time Machine, the setlist brought into rehearsals matched the final setlist fairly closely. For this tour the rehearsal song list seemed to change by the day (part of what led to the nightly rotation).
  4. It's amazing how no matter how many times Alex and Geddy talk about having no plans to retire and loving what they're doing and wanting to do it for as long as they're able, everyone still thinks each tour is a farewell tour. It's almost like Kiss and their 19 farewell tours - except it's the fans calling it a farewell each go-round instead of the band. They'll tell you when they're ready to call it a day. Right now they're telling you the exact opposite.
  5. That's what I used to think, but likeclockwork usually posts very reliable information, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Appreciate it - but Alex has specifically referenced a 40th anniversary tour in interviews as well. It's certainly not a guarantee but it's definitely on the table. I think Alex would sign up on the spot but Geddy and Neil want a break. As I said, they want to keep going and they know they have a limited window of time left so even if they take a break and don't do something in 2014, the break isn't going to be several years.
  6. In "A Few Good Men" terms, these are the facts and they are indisputable: 1. They're not retiring any time soon. 2. They love playing and they love working together. 3. They want a nice break after this tour ends. 4. They're old and they have limited time to keep doing this before they can't anymore 5. R40 is a great marketing opportunity Can't say whether that translates into a tour in late 2014 or something in 2015. They probably don't even know yet. My gut says an R40 tour with a few new songs like on Time Machine that either begins late 2014 or gets pushed off till Spring 2015. Either way we will see them again and it won't be multiple years before we do. They know they have a small window at this point in their career and lives.
  7. Boston (Mansfield) was orginally scheduled for 7/13 to close that leg, but Halifax was originally scheduled on the 11th. That got moved to 7/12 and we know they detest back to back's so not sure what happened to the Mansfield show and if they just cut it entirely or not. There's at least 1 more Canada show coming in that 6 day gap between 7/6 - 7/12. Possibly 2. Overall they clearly are not doubling up in any market. I'd say they're looking to avoid oversaturation and are skipping some pretty easy money-makers (like California) in order to regenerate demand for their next go-round.
  8. Nope. The leg beginning late June is Northeast --> Midwest --> Canada --> ending in the Northeast. Then the final few dates after a break are NW Canada --> Northwest --> Midwest.
  9. No Vegas and No California. The press release pretty much listed every city remaining other than one or two.
  10. No Vegas. :( Almost no repeat cities on this leg from the fall leg.
  11. No Radio City on the schedule. Not sure why those rumors pop up every tour but there's never been any dates held there and there's no room on the current schedule for a Radio City show with the way the itinerary is scheduled. I know its not on the summer schedule, was thinking more the fall. Is this from some inside information you have come across? How are you so sure. No fall dates. Tour ends early August.
  12. No Radio City on the schedule. Not sure why those rumors pop up every tour but there's never been any dates held there and there's no room on the current schedule for a Radio City show with the way the itinerary is scheduled.
  13. Hershey is Giant Center. Boston is Comcast in Mansfield. Denver is Pepsi Arena, not Red Rocks
  14. I know, we're not even a month into the new year yet. How dare they make us wait so long ;) Does anyone know for sure if the next North American leg is gonna happen before or after the European one? There's a few weeks of dates beginning a few days after the Hall of Fame induction and running through mid-May before they head to Europe. Then they come back in late June for a couple of months. The first dates are a south/southwest show to open then Florida --> southeast and northeast as of the last routing I saw.
  15. Last run of dates I saw had them starting a few days after the Hall of Fame induction in the south/southwest and moving eastward. The schedule was evolving though so I'll update again shortly
  16. There are definitely US show before Europe. Look for the tour to start right after the Hall of Fame induction.
  17. Same day in Alex's interview he mentioned an R40 tour and plans "in pencil" for 2014 into 2015. Very possible they're both right. Clockwork Angels tour ends late summer. They could take most of the next year off (Geddy's long break comment), write a couple of new songs during the Summer of 2014 (Geddy's new music comment), then go on the road in the fall of 2014 for a couple of months and again spring 2015 for a 40th anniversay tour (Alex's R40 & 2014-2015 plans comment) and satisfy all elements. None of this is fact. Just pure speculation on my part. At their ages - and given that they've all said they want to keep doing this while they can - there aren't going to be any 3-4 year breaks.
  18. These dates are 100% fake. Don't give them even a look. And this is a pretty poor attempt at that. They're not even logical.
  19. Will we know the tour dates before Christmas? Need to adjust my budget accordingly.... :yay: :cheerleader:  :ebert: Sorry - I'm not sure when the announcement will be. From the looks of things there's still a lot of work to be done so I certainly wouldn't expect anything immediately.
  20. It's currently being routed. Excellent chance it starts in April with a month of shows pre-Europe and then a couple of months afterward into August. Other possibility is obviously entirely after Europe but current thinking is restart in April and they're holding a bunch of dates in April/early May in the US as well as a ton in July/Aug.
  21. They've been routing 2013 US dates since before this year's tour began. They're still all over the place on dates and potential routing thought. Either some before Europe and some after like 2011 or all after Europe. They literally have holds at venues on opposite sides of the country on the same day so there's a number of shapes the 2013 tour can still take but there will be one for sure. As pointed out above, they don't gear up the whole machine for only a small handful of dates. It doesn't make sense economically.
  22. Nothing more than needing to cut a couple songs and figuring BU2B made sense since it was played for 2 years straight last time. Caravan wasn't going to be included either at one stage of the planning.
  23. It's interesting - they started rehearsing Limelight in soundcheck at the beginning of this leg (ie - Philly) and then abandoned it (it wasn't rehearsed over the weekend in soundcheck in NY/NJ) and now here it is. Limelight was also originally in the encore but dropped during final rehearsals.
