What Made You Do A Facepalm Today??
Principled Man replied to Principled Man's topic in Random Samples
I had the most disturbing dream about Rush this morning. I was at a Rush concert. A small venue, really smoky. I was in the balcony, where there were no seats and people were walking around. Alex was alone on stage, playing some long solo. All of a sudden, Geddy and Alex walked up to the railing right by me, and fans were taking pictures with them. I was nearby with my digital camera, just staring at them. Then the people left, and Geddy came over to say hi, and I started talking to him about how great the band's music is....but then Geddy morphed into some life-sized animated version of Geddy, with his facial features all exaggerated....and then I woke up with my heart racing. I rarely dream about Rush, which I find strange in itself, but this dream was horribly strange!! -

Rhapsody- Symphony Of Enchanted Lands II (The Dark Secret) This is where they tip over from power metal into symphonic metal. It's just astounding to me how grandiose and massive this band sounds, with huge concepts and Cheistopher f***ing Lee doing the voice overs. Yeah, it's not for everyone. But Rhapsody work for me. A spectacular band, and in my opinion rivalled only by Blind Guardian. These two bands really took over for me when Nightwish let me down. -

More bum fighting, I might reach into my wallet for that.

None of this music holds a candle to the B52s debut album, of course they really had something going there Ricky’s nonstandard tunings made it unique and fun and then all them vocalists just goin at it and the drummer, he clearly has the use of at least two of his limbs
-
You know Rush is peak musician proficiency due to how many dozens and dozens of songs can easily be played on guitar while singing the vocalists lines. That’s the mark of highly technical music, being able to do the guitarists job and half of the bassist/vocalists job at once Alex Lifeson is the 40th best rock guitarist that ever lived

Hit a piece of a brick with the lawnmower the other day. sent pieces flying towards the cars, missed them by 2’ and bounced off the house instead shattering my back window or throwing a huge dent/scrape into the car because of the lawnmower blade launching a projectile would’ve been lame af af

What is the best seat in the house during a live Rush show?
goose replied to Slime's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I went with suite. On one of RUSH'S later tours I was with my buddies in Seattle and they all had tix to the show. I decided to see what was left at the box office and was next to step to the box when someone tapped me on the shoulder. He said he had a free ticket, explaining that he was in a fully catered luxury box and my only cost would be to tip the staff. The sear were fantastic, right above the band, and the whole show I grazed on shrimp, crab, prime rib, and all the beer and wine I wanted. 2nd best was front row, right in front of Geddy for the SA tour. -
