The Analog Cub
Post all things BBQ and things that go great with BBQ! Here's something my family and I did last summer while I was at home. Smoked chicken breasts, with Greek seasoning and cayenne pepper.
The Analog Cub
Here's something I really want to try out once I get stateside again and have a grill to use. Molding a burger bowl with a beer can and filling it with all sorts of goodies, like onions, peppers, bacon, etc. or if you're weird, mushrooms. Then glue the top shut with some cheese! Excuse the good ole' boy redneck attitude in the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hq2kmbI_1EA Edited April 20, 2015 by BowlCity
Tombstone Mountain
Bowlcity is the man for starting this thread....just sayin' I'm a bbq ho...unashamedly. Texas has it good, as does Memphis and KC. Western NC/East TN has it's own Appalachian thing. Texas wins most of the time in my book!

The Analog Cub
I don't discriminate regions when it comes to BBQ, everything's got something to offer, though I generally steer clear of the Southeast coast sauces since they like their mustard based sauces. Yuck. Kansas City has some of my favorite sauces, though. Went to Poppa's BBQ in Bonner Springs, KS for dinner before we saw Rush in Kansas City on the CA Tour. No shit! :P I lived in the southeast for the majority of my childhood, and we went to Sonny's Pit BBQ often. They had some really good brisket and smoked chicken legs, with some awesome Texas toast to go with.

blueschica
Respectfully, what's weird about mushrooms?? A giant portabella stuffed in that burger thing would make it great!! http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/images.jpeg (I have to deal with mushrooms anyway since Mr. blues is a vegetarian. ) I go for the pulled pork BBQ with the vinegar slaw myself. . . .http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/Unknown-3.jpeg

I can't stand mushrooms I would fill the burger WITH the pulled pork, along with some grilled onions. Then I'd fill another with that hashbrown and roast beef combo in the video
Finding IT
We had a threat about BBQ a few years back. I had a BBQ Blog up from about 2004 to 2009, I travelled on business a good bit in the 90s and kept notes on 80 or so places I visited. My all time favorite BBQ item is Burnt Ends at Wiley's Championship BBQ. Favorite ribs are at the Shed in Ocean Springs MS. Also like the Big Bib in San Antonio.

Lost In Xanadu
I just smoked 14lbs of pork shoulder on Sunday.... apple and hickory chips for over 8 hours. I usually keep it on smoke for about 5-6 hours, mopping with a mix of apple juice, beer and apple cider vinegar every hour. After the 6 hours on smoke, I remove any wood chips, heavy mop the pork and wrap in foil to braise for a few hours. My parents came over for dinner, we still have a ton left over. Served with grilled corn on the cob, corn bread, baked beans and chocolate cake :)
