Two hipsters walk into a bar. The first one did it before it was cool and the second did it ironically.

Who was the first hipster?

You've probably never heard of him.

Look it up, it's hard to explain.

Essentially, dudes who dress ironically (I live in the third hottest city in the US, and there is a dude here who wears scarves and vintage jackets during summer where the temperature hits 109 regularly), listen to indie music (yet to the mainstream indie music), and loves indie films, bad-tasting coffee, etc. This is all cliché, but most of it is surprisingly true.

They love to say that they liked something before it was cool, like Foster the People, or Twilightbefore it became famous.

If a hipster falls in a forest, you'll probably ever hear about it.

I would say no. From my experience, hipsters despise Prog.

I've been to a few hipster record stores and they pretty much just sell indie folk stuff.

Yeah, the closest thing to prog that hipsters like (at least in my area) is Pink Floyd. My sister told me once about some hipster at the art school she goes to who said that he used to like Rush but then he "discovered real music".
