Hey.. Been a while. Just want to tell you Rush in Malmo, Sweden was amazing. 4'th row Geddy side. Geddys voice was even better than the last times i saw them, really impressed me. Alex was flawless and I think he really enjoyes every string he bends. Neil was 100% as always. Sadly both Stockholm and Malmo wasn't sold out, hopefully they just go to Denmark next time.. wink.gif

I'm working on an animation for one of the museums i work at, It's about a turtle found here on the Island i live on, we got some of the finest and deepest volcanic ashlayers in the world were you can find some amazing fossils. Going to show you the finished work later, probably next month. wink.gif

Here are a link with some info (in Danish, lol) about the childrens book i'm animating and some info about the museum and the fossils. I did not do the drawings for the book, It's a local artist and coworker who done them. I'm just animating it.

And here is a link to some info about the harbour in my town and the museum were i work. We got 5 museums in all

And last some videos I made for the museums in the past years.

The first one is from the 100 year anniversary for the museum at the old monastery from around 1450. The second is from a fictive story we made at the farmmuseum.

I love my job. Enjoy. wink.gif

You're right, I don't get what's going on but someone free that turtle from the rock! tongue.gif

No small task animating 5+ minutes of footage. Congratulations. Nice work too.

What software did you use to animate?

Thanks hunter. smile.gif

The turtle actually lived for 55 million years ago and was found on the Island were i live in Denmark in 2008. It's the best preserved fossil turtle in the world.

Here is a video from the museum. In English. It's the guy who found the turtle, he is also in the animation.

I used Flash to make the animation of the drawings (Lots of photoshoping to cut out the animals and fill in the backgrounds) and the intro opening book is made in Cararra 7 (3D software from daz.)

Made it in hi-res 1920x1080 so it can be watched in full screen if your broadband allows it.. wink.gif

Okay... so I see it's been a year since the last post in this thread, and 6 years since *I* last posted in it. Now that some things are more out in the open, I can show what I've been doing lately. First off, I'm still doing Honorverse work for BuNine. We have a webpage out now, and have "co-authored" a book with David Weber - House of Steel. The first 1/3 of the book is a novella from David about the early days of the military buildup of the Star Kingdom of Manticore to defend themselves against the People's Republic of Haven, who King Roger sees attacking in the near future. The rest of the book is written by various members of BuNine, and is basically historical, political, military, and organizational background info on the Star Kingdom and the Protectorate of Grayson. There are two more books planned, with the next one (House of Lies) due out later this year. This one will deal with the transition of the Republic of Haven into the People's Republic of Haven, and BuNine's contribution will cover the PRH and the Andermani Empire.

So, what else is going on? Evergreen Films is making a movie based on the Honorverse (due out in 2016), Top Cow comics (best known for Witchblade) is doing Tales of Honor, a comic/graphic novel series (issue #1 goes on sale next month), and Evergreen also has an Honorverse-based mobile game coming out soon. Evergreen has a single film to its name currently - Walking With Dinosaurs. They did something similar for the BBC a couple years ago. Although WWD was pretty much panned, most of the criticism has been leveled at the voice-acting and script, neither of which were planned, but were forced on Evergreen by 20th Century Fox. The CGI work has gotten a lot of praise. Pre-production is currently going on now (mainly just concept art), but there has been no announcement of writer, director, or cast.

The first public HonorCon was held in Greenville, SC in November and I was on a couple of panels giving presentations on starship design and function over form in the Honorverse.

Since the last time I posted here, I've gotten a lot more inside info on Honorverse ships and weapons due to my association with BuNine, and have improved a bit in my modeling, to the point where I even have an animation. Still can't texture/UV map to save my life, but the way I model, and the way Honorverse ships are built means there isn't really a lot of texturing needed. Any markings needed are strictly decals, which are pretty easy to do in Blender, or just different-color materials, if I can set the mesh up for it.

I'm just going to post links to where you can see my latest work, rather than post it here in the thread. The Flickr link has everything. The DeviantArt link has some of the images from Flickr, but nothing that can't be seen at the Flickr link, and the YouTube link is the same video at Flickr. So, basically, Flickr is the only place you'll really need to go, but it would be nice to have the view counts at DA and YT :D

Eh,,, what the hell. Here's the YT video: http://youtu.be/fy8e-3lrKGE

BTW, I have a new video rendering out as I type. It's been running 24/7 since December 16th, and if my calculations are correct, it should be finished in another 10-12 days. It'll be 3m 20s long - 6000 frames at 30fps. The first 600 frames or so were only taking about 2m 30s to render. The last 2000 have been taking up to 48 minutes each to render. I have 360 frames left to render, and they're taking between 38 and 41 minutes to render.

Anyway, I hope anyone who sees this likes what they see.
