Gov
QUOTE (Marathonist @ Jun 11 2008, 12:18 PM) QUOTE (Gov @ Jun 11 2008, 12:03 AM) Squires is good, but Ged is better. Now, if you want to talk about bass players better then Ged, you have to look at some jazz fusion players. Jaco Pastorius for one (R.I.P), Stanley Clarke and Brian Bromberg. Jaco was the best! Just my two cents That's kinda like apples and oranges. Two completely different styles. It's like saying who's the better singer when the choices are Geddy and Bocelli. Or, to reach into a different vein of comparison, was Matisse a better artist than Monet? You can't compare. You're absolutely correct! I was just throwing it out there

You rocker chicks have some bizarre tastes in men. says the guy with Rachael Ray in his avatar oh yes, that's right. I went there. Seriously. Rachel Ray is NAS-TEH. I'm assuming mazyyz will be at any meet-up before the Atlanta show. If so, I plan to lay a serious beating on him for that avatar if he doesn't get rid of it soon. I hate her with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns. Can't cook anything without drowning it in olive oil and chicken stock, and is annoying as all get-out to boot.. rnrgal
Sorry, but Chris was hot back then (not so much now) and I never saw the hotness in Ged. They both play some tasty bass licks tho.
GeddyRulz
http://www.geocities.com/phalanx169/ChrisCircus-Nov76.jpg I say this with an unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality... Doesn't Chris Squire embody the more traditional idea of male attractiveness? I mean, generally speaking, wouldn't more women (non-Rush fans included) find Chris more attractive than Ged? Of course, if we're talking about today, then more people would choose Geddy. Chris hasn't aged as well.

edie
For goodness sake girl, get a grip. It's got to be Geddy by miles. Chris has got old and flabby - and he also thinks he's still God's gift which makes him soooo unattractive. Saw Yes at the Liverpool Pops a few years ago and while they were completely fabulous, Steve Howe looked like he'd just been dug up, Jon Anderson was wearing some kind of hideous pastel shell suit and Chris Squire was strutting as though there hundreds of drooling groupies in front of him. And there were no groupies. There was me and my husband (no idea how we got front row tickets on the day of the gig ), several even older people and a very strange woman following the gig on sheet music. Truly bizarre. edgyspice
Chris is hotter (well...he used to be), but I'd rather hang out with Geddy. He seems like a nice person. Plus, he's Geddy freakin' Lee.

fragile wings
Look it's a noob! QUICK! Let's attack! First post! Hi all. Anyway, if you're going by musical talent that 's a really tough call. Both are awesome bass players, imo. Personality wise, gonna have to go with Geddy, he seems like a very pleasant down to earth kinda guy. Chris on the other hand....I've heard lots of stories....gonna pass on that one. When it comes to looks, I'd take Geddy any day of the week. Chris, only if I could go back to the 70s... http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd238/Yessound_chaser81/ChrisSquireYessongssm.jpg
