I hope that has nothing to do with me mentioning Supertramp a little while ago. Actually if it does I'm flattered. I am kind of suprised COTC isn't on here already.

 

Nope, just remembered it as one of my favourite live albums, without realising it is a live album.

I have obviously heard a bunch of Supertramp music over the years (Radio) but I don't own any and haven't heard this one. I don't understand the "live album without realizing its a live album" thing if you wouldn't mind explaining further?... :)

 

Paris was the only Supertramp album I owned. I played the tape countless times in the 80's. Even today if I hear a studio version of one of the songs, I still find it a little odd. The live version for me is the studio version, and therefor Paris for me is not a live album.

Same with me. As a huge Yes fan I have an opinion on this. I actually think "awaken" could almost be an outtake from Tales (same exact lineup for one thing).

It is a classic! First Yes album I ever heard (but it didn't leave an impression until AFTER I heard Tales).

 

Same with me. As a huge Yes fan I have an opinion on this. I actually think "awaken" could almost be an outtake from Tales (same exact lineup for one thing).

Yep. Every album (exception Tales) through Tormato are must haves in my view. Great great music. Rush 1 Yes 1A. Its that close. I would be just as comfortable on a Yes forum to be honest assuming the folks would be just as sweet as the ones are here... :dweez:

1. Yes, Voyage is the best album Genesis never made. However, Anthony Phillips "Gheese and the Ghost" is really great too and would be the second best probably.

 

2. RE: The Yes Album. My dad had it when I was a kid. I didn't pay attention to it until later. I became a big fan mainly because of their 80's hits and 90125 but when I dug into their back catalog there was no going back. It is a classic album for sure and if nobody mentioned it I would add it since it is on my list here(yes, I have a sheet of paper with albums I intend to add. However, some of you are beating me to the punch. Good for you. ;) ).
